Before a deployment to Afghanistan, I shopped around for a decent place to store my belongings, and the price was right at Northwest self storage (and I soon found out why - its because they do terrible business). While it seemed secure with the keypad entry, the video cameras, and the two story buildings, I soon found out how false their sense of security really was. Six months into my deployment, my wife received a phone call stating that our lock to our storage space had been cut. (Keep in mind our space was on the second floor). Being that my wife was living out of state, we had the clerk check to see if our motorcycle was still in the storage unit, which it WAS NOT! I thought this was an easy fix as there must be footage of these guys wheeling my motorcycle out the front gate, but not only did the lady working the front desk not answer or return our phone calls so we could get more information about the "burglary" (which up till this point I thought it was), she never provided tapes or any sort of helpful information to help us out. Being in Afghanistan, I couldnt deal with the situation, so I had my wife move back to WA to take what wasnt stolen out of the unit, and move it to another location for the remainder of my deployment. Upon my return, I made a stop by the storage facility to get some closure, and possibly speak with the owner of the establishment that was burglarized (as it seems an owner of a business would be concerned with this). The clerk stated that the "owner" was very hard to get in touch with, and that Id better not try to get a hold of him. I then asked if I could speak with whoever "managed" the facility so that I could address how poor their service of storing things really was. This is when she took the liberty of screaming at me, telling me to leave her premises, and never to come back! I have no idea why, but maybe its because she was involved in the theft? I have no clue, but it was a little rude to run off a previous customer whod had his motorcycle stolen from her business. Bottom line is just dont ever do business here, and if you know someone who is, suggest they read this. I dont think anyone deserves this experience. I should add that I would lower my rates too, if I were stealing peoples things from their storage unit and making money that way.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! These people are thiefs! I was going thru a divorce rented a storage unit here, and when I went back 8 months later my unit had only empty boxes. When I went to the front desk i was given the run around. Two weeks after I am approached by a woman selling Xmas ornaments out of her car, and she tried to sell me my own ornaments. How do I know this for sure? The had my childrens names and the dates my mother had given them as gifts! The woman told me her boyfriend worked for a storage place and he helps clean out the units when they havent been paid. Well I did pay, and I lost everything from picture frames to my grandmothers china she bought dish by dish to jewelry box which contained my sons first hair cut clipping to my grandfathers navy cufflings. Keep your cherished memories, and belongings some where safe. This is not the place to do that!!!

I checked out a lot of places before finally deciding to go with the right Storage Unit. I talked with the front desk regarding the safety issues I have read about and asked to talk with the owner. This Family owed business went above and beyond my expectations. They explained they had camera surveillance as well as a night time security crew come through every night a few times a night to make sure the place was safe. I have a storage unit there for over a year and I have been pleased with the customer services I have received. I highly recommended this storage unit!!!!
