I was growing bored of my normal gym routine and finding it difficult to make it to on a regular basis. I had plateaued in both my weight loss as well as improvements to my overall health. A friend of mine had suggested I stop by a crossfit gym, but all the people I knew who had done crossfit were in amazing shape, far removed from where I was. One Saturday I decided to stop by and see what my local crossfit gym looked like and see if it might be a good fit. Mike Connolly, one of the coaches, answered a few questions, asked me to do a few movements (most of which I couldn’t do) and I signed up for their fundamentals course right there. From the very first day two very specific things impressed me: how helpful the coaches and inviting the members were. In my class were a college student (in amazing shape), an elementary school teacher, and a local business owner. Every one of us was given specific feedback and focus areas as we went through the introduction classes. The ability of the coaches to modify everything to each individual students needs (and make it a priority) impressed me from the very first class. Fast forward a year and a half and I still love Agoge. I’ve made significant strides in my overall health and can do things today that I never imagined I could do. I’ve lost over 35 pounds, dropped 4 pant sizes, and increased my confidence in all aspects of my life. The coaches have been a critical part of my success throughout this journey. One of the things I was worried about with crossfit was injuring myself because I didn’t now anything about lifting. The coaches at Agoge are consistently focused on maintaining correct form and not doing too much with each workout. They do an amazing job of helping me push myself to improve and ensure I don’t injure myself during the process. Finally, they focus on helping me maintain a well-rounded focus on cardio, strength, and skill. Beyond the coaches, I find the community at Agoge amazing. The other members of the gym are always there to help me through a hard workout or hard times as well as enjoy the special journey we are all on. I’ve built strong connections with my fellow members and enjoy the camaraderie that is present at every workout. They are a large part of why I’m excited to show up each day. Since joining Agoge, I’ve been able to go from struggling to find a consistent, healthy approach to life to being in the best shape of my life. If you are looking to make a positive change for your health, come to Agoge and experience the difference. You won’t regret it.

Agoge’s depth of experience is unique among CrossFit gyms. It’s the direct descendant of the world’s first CrossFit-affiliated gym (CrossFit North) and was recently voted the Best CrossFit north of Seattle. I cannot say enough about what the Agoge community has meant to me. From the moment that I walked into the gym a few years back I felt welcomed and supported and that feeling has only grown stronger over the years. Through the great training that I receive and all the support from my fellow gym members I am in the best shape of my life - and that is saying something at my age (40+). If you are interested in seeing what CrossFit is all about (or if you are just tired of the same old workout routine that may or may not be working for you) I encourage you to come check Agoge out. I am a much happier and healthier person for doing so.

Looking for a place to work out? Give this gym a try. First of all, the coaching is outstanding. They pay attention to the details, working with you on technique, form, diet, and mobility. They are encouraging but they also challenge you. The members though make this a fun place to work out. There is a camaraderie among the membership that is encouraging and challenging; we all seem to push each other to do just one more. This isn’t a place for the faint of heart, but if you want to have a tough workout yet still have a good time and make some friends, this is the place for you.

At Agoge youll find a gym that wants to meet you where youre at then help you progress to your fitness goals. All levels are welcome and each person is a cheerleader driving the team forward. Agoge offers CrossFit and CardioFit classes. I attend and enjoy both. I have been with Agoge since September 2015 and theyre celebrating their success of being a gym for 10 years. Theres a lot that doesnt need to be said, but is known for a place that has been around that long. The success is in our community and well hope youll join us to discover CrossFit or as a drop-in on your vacation.

Great coaches, great people, great facility. Way better than any "fitness" gym. Crossfit actually gets you fit for whatever you want to do. Kathy, Mike, Johnny and the rest of the coaches will train you and help you reach your fitness goals. Ive gotten stronger and have better mobility than I ever had in high school or college. Their excitement and encouragement shape every class. Everyone wants everyone else to succeed. Newbies to veterans will find it a great place to keep improving. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Agoge CrossFit for nearly 18 months, and in that time I have gained muscle, loss body fat and have so much more energy throughout the day. The variety of exercises that the coaches provide along with the instruction and encouragement make going to CrossFit something I look forward to every week! On average, I go in about 4 times a week.
