This past winter, I was in the process of getting bids for a complete kitchen remodel and a good friend referred Kehlnhofer Custom Cabinets to me. Brian had built kitchen cabinets for her about 6-7 years ago and I was very impressed with the job he had done, so I contacted Brian. He was friendly, professional and very approachable. I appreciated his personal attention and easy-going manner. He met with me several times at my home, worked closely with my designer, and was very open to all of our ideas and requests for revisions as I made my final decisions. We were invited to his workshop to learn about his process and see samples of his cabinet designs and stain colors. Being a custom cabinet maker, he was able to make effective use of all of the space in my small kitchen. I even gained additional storage space by incorporating some of his design recommendations. He was flexible in coordinating with the contractor and finished the cabinets and installation process in a timely manner. When I was comparing the cost and quality of ready-made cabinets to Brians custom cabinets, I determined that his pricing was very competitive. The quality of the final product was well worth the affordable additional expense. Brians cabinets are beautifully made and built extremely well. He puts a lot of pride into his work and is very attentive to the smallest detail. I was pleased with his workmanship and enjoyed working with him very much.

I am very pleased with the home office I had constructed by Brian Kehlnhofer of Kehlnhofer Custom Cabinets, LLC. I am happy every time I walk into the room! Every inch of the workmanship is excellent. I got just what I wanted. I hired Brian on the advice of the owner/operator of the Green Design Center in Waukesha. I had reached out to the Green Design Center looking for a contractor who could build a home office (desk and cabinets and shelving) using real wood and paint products without the typical toxins. (Months earlier I had hired a national company to install a home office which made me physically ill with the off-gassing smell and horrible air quality that hung over my house when completed.) Brian understood what I was asking for, and he and I worked with the Green Design Center people to select paint for the cabinets and also a table top material for the desk. All green. Brian is easy to work with -- cheerful and friendly -- and very professional. He listened to what I had in mind for a basic design and executed it. He was prompt in returning calls and showing up as planned. I had to slow down the work when there was a death in my family and he was very kind and gracious. I will hire him again for another big job.

Response to new BBB review from Laura Fox The customer ruined their own finish with baby wipes(alcohol) and excessive water damage. The space was prepared by the customers husband and was done very poorly. The amount of the cabinets was around $17,000. A suitable industry-approved repair was offered and denied twice. Once by e-mail, and once in person. This issue has been reviewed by the BBB over the span of a couple months, and has been discharged. While I understand my clients frustration, the situation was not caused by faulty workmanship. This client has reached the point of harassment and defamation. Any further contact from this client will be met with a cease and desist request from my attorney. Submitted: 02/22/2015
