They may have a good quality over fixing cars as a lot people "heard", but at least I havent felt this with my experience. Instead, what I felt is impatience and disrespect for their customers. I went there because my engine light was on. They told me the inspection fee is $80. I thought they may give a better inspection than my dealers. However, they just showed me the code, and then told me whats wrong with my car and how much money I need to pay to get them fixed. I was so suspecting about the result and when I asked for a proof of a more detailed inspection, they just told me " you are free to go anywhere else now". After that the staff even didnt look at me anymore. I was almost stung. After I realized what happened, we argued for 15 minutes, and finally the staff said again," okay, I apologized for just now, but you are free to go anywhere else." I don believe such a reasonable requirement from customers could be so annoying to a businessman if he can care his customers a little bit more than money. They should show more patience rather than their history and reputation.

I had a diagnostic test run at Auto Zone before I went, so I already knew what the problem was. When I got to Franklins, the guy wouldnt give me a price quote before running the $80 diagnostic test (he said it would be somewhere between $200 and $500 to replace the part I needed, which is a pretty big range if you ask me, and means he either had no idea how much it should cost or he was trying to give me the run-around). They told me half of the $80 would be credited back to me when I had them make the repair, but it seems awfully foolish to have a test done before you know whether the price of the repair will be absolutely outrageous. A simple price quote and I probably would have gone for the test--but it seemed like a trap. Just be aware. They seem nice enough, but there are other places around that will be more upfront with you when you ask about prices.

I guess the economy isnt as bad as they say. I just got off the phone with Jerry at Franklin. My first question after I said Good Morning was, Yes sir I was wondering if you guys could change a water pump on a 1970 Chevelle? Jerry said without hesitation and shortly "Not Today". I said "ok". Do you know how much that would cost for the labor if I bring brand new parts that I already bought thinking I could do it? " Again Mr. Jerry with a little more attitude said, "Im not interested in working on a car with someone elses parts." I said ok thank. In which Jerry said nothing and hung up. This is why I stopped dealing with them 6 years ago. I thought I would give them a try but I guess even a bad economy cant make people want to work or even be cordial on the phone. I wouldnt deal with them.

I have a daughter who is a student at Auburn and we live out of state. Knowing her car is being taken care of is extremely important, as any parent would tell you. We first went to Franklin on the recommendation of someone who lives locally. That was 3 years ago and weve never had a reason to go anywhere else. No matter what she needs (and weve run the gamut) they are responsive, polite, fast and reasonably priced. They often check fluids/tires for free just to make sure shes ok before she gets on the road. I just dont know how else to put it - THEYRE GREAT!!!

After reading some reviews, I thought I had to chime in. I have ALWAYS been treated with nothing but mutual respect and of the utmost courtesy at Franklin Tire and Auto. Great prices and great service every time I have visited, and with the clunker I used to own I was in there a lot. So I guess they havent been able to please "everyone", but apparently if you have common sense, are courteous, and are respectful, I doubt very seriously you will encounter a problem. I will always recommend Franklin Tire and Auto as they have earned my trust.

They have always been courteous and fair. I have never once felt taken advantage of or felt that they were dishonest. I take my vehicles there for any problem I may have, from general maintenance to more serious problems. Out of all of the mechanic shops / tire places in the Auburn Opelika area, this place is the best!

I purchased tires in another state before making the 1300 mile trip, and one blew on the trip down. Franklin Tire and Auto went out of their way to help me. They gave me not only a great deal, but for one of the first times in my adult life, I didnt feel taken advantage of as a woman. They get 5 stars from me.

I not sure how to fix the car. But after I been there three times for same reason. Ask for money over and over. I have decided to fix my own car. I would strongly advice never try to go down there. They will ripe you up. Please, Go down to Walmart. Walmart people will be better then them.

FAVORITE PLACE TO TAKE MY CAR! I have been going to this place for little over a year. They have always done a wonderful job fixing and/or helping me with my car. The people are extremely friendly. I always feel i am treated like an old friend when I have to do business here.
