Horrible. Ive been here 3 times in the past 6 months and will never be back again. First visit: Front tires were completely worn. On this visit, I received great service - 2 new tires, rotated to the back. Plain and simple. Second visit: Had a nail in each of my front tires, one was repairable and they were still fairly new. So they replaced one and patched the other. Service was just okay this time. Third visit (which actually took about 5 visits...): Needed new brakes and an oil change. I showed up for my appointment and the only guy there was on a conference call. He asked me to hold one second, understandable. 4 more people walk in. We all wait about 5 minutes before he finally tells us that some of their equipment is broken so they cant do oil changes and he sent his mechanic home early, so they pretty much cant do anything. So they schedule appointments and dont let you know when somethings wrong so you dont waste your time and take off work to drive up there. So I go back 2 days later for the same service. He tells me my rotors cant even be turned so Ill need new rotors and pads. So they do that and tell me they did an oil change and tire rotation. I cant even make it to Opelika without my brakes starting to screech. So I take it back. And of course, they have an excuse - something folded over exposing metal rubbing against something. So they "fix" it again. I get home the next night and my oil warning light comes on...one day after an oil change and theres already no oil left in my engine? I take it back, asking if they actually did the oil change. They question me, saying Im only suspicious because they didnt give me a "next service date" sticker since they were out...no, Im pretty sure the light had something to do with me coming back. They inspect it, he comes back and says they just left out the last 1/4 quart of oil which is the part that goes into the oil filter, which 2 other mechanics Ive since talked to said is BS. So they "redo" the oil change they never actually did in the first place. 2 days later, my brakes start making an ear shattering screeching sound, and my car smells like burning metal. I take it back. "Oh, its probably that same piece just got folded over again. I dont know how that keeps happening.." Okay, well I need you to fix it. "Im not going to be able to get to it today. You can bring it back tomorrow and well try to get to it. Itll be fine." I have to commute to and from Columbus every day..Im pretty sure scrubbing metal at 70 mph down the highway cant be safe. I had to get it fixed by someone else. 2 weeks ago, that 4th tire they told me was fine to be patched 3 months ago and that they supposedly rotated a month ago had wires showing. First of all, if they actually rotated my tires, that one shouldve made it to the back tires. Second of all, Ive bought 3 tires from you already, and youre the only ones that carry the brand of tires on my car. It makes no sense for you to not tell me I need a new tire when Id obviously buy it from you. I had to go to another location in Phenix City to get that tire replaced. I will never go back to this location, and Ive made sure anyone I know that considers going here knows about this horrible service and the crooks that work there.

I have been a loyal customer at the Pep boys in Auburn every since they were Big 10 tires. I live in Auburn near South College so I would always go to that location. That was until they hired a manager who called himself GT. Every time I took my truck in for anything and GT was there I would always be told that something was wrong with my vehicle. I purchased tires from pep boys so I receive the free tire rotation. Whenever I took my truck in for a free rotation he always told me that they would not have time to get to it that day even if I took it in at 7:30 when the doors opened. And the one time that he finale looked at it he told me that he could not rotate my tires and that I needed to get my brakes replaced. But the straw that broke the camels back was, one day I took my truck in for a routine oil change and GT came to tell me that my engine was leaking oil in several places and it needed to be repaired or my engine would blow. I was scared of course but I decided to go outside with GT not present and speak with the mechanic working on my car. I spoke with the mechanic and he let me know that he did not see any leaks on my engine anywhere at all. I have drove my truck for a year since then with no issues. As for the Pep Boys in Opelika on Frederick road they are great and will also go above and beyond to assist me with my issues. I would rather drive across town to the Pep Boys in Opelika or go to a completely different shop all together before I deal with GT EVER AGAIN. After posting my complaint I received a call from Victor who is over the region and he told me that he would speak with GT about the issues that I had with my experience to insure a better experience in the future. I later received a call from GT apologizing for the poor experience and asking me to come in for a complimentary oil change on my next visit.

I took my car in for a simple oil change and 3 days later all the oil was out of my car and my engine was blown. Turned out that the wrong oil filter was put on the car. I called them and they promptly had a tow truck come and get my car. They did a very extensive investigation to ensure that it was nothing more than the oil filter. After the investigation they called and said my engine was blown and they were replacing it free of charge and provided me with a very nice rental for the month they had the vehicle. The engine that blew had 135K miles and the one it was replaced with had 52K. Now I am the type of girl who gets documentation on EVERYTHING so I know this to be true!!! An out sourced mechanic put in the new engine. 6 month unlimited mile warranty. My battery ultimately ended up dying due to not being used in a month, it was 5 years old so not unusual for that to happen. The new battery was going to be $115. I called advanced auto and auto zone and that was the price of a battery for my car. Pep Boys dropped in the new battery and only charged me $85 for it. I am having some issues now with the engine doing bizzarr things. I took it today to have it looked at. They are contacting the mechanic who put the engine in to see what was done so they know where to start. They will take care of it, I am confident. They have been very respectful and I know they have been fair because before I do anything I comparision shop. I have found them to be good people to work with. They do not try to push the blame off on someone or something else. If it is their error they take responsibilty and fix it promptly.
