The absolute WORST experience Ive ever encountered. This "certified" team DESTROYED my motor. All due to an oil change; the simple task of tightening an oil plug. This team could not even handle that. Due to their negligence, I got a few miles down the road and all of a sudden all of my oil is out of my car! No my motor is shot. After a lot of aggravation, they state that they will replace my motor. So until then, Im out of a vehicle. Several days later, I finally get a rental that pepboys is supposed to take care of. Low and behold, i have insurance fees to pay for that vehicle (AND i had just paid the insurance on my vehicle that I cannot even drive.) So I pay the week insurance for the rental. Another week goes by, now the rental is due & I still have yet to hear from pepboys. Im stressing over returning this vehicle and finally at the last business hour of the day, we are able to talk to somebody from corporate about the rental. My car is still not ready & we explained that I did not have the funds to keep paying weekly insurance on this rental vehicle. Remeber, I was only financially prepared for the oil change. At this point, Im already a couple hundred dollars down the drain. We are assured that the rental and fees will be taken care of by pepboys. Awesome! Considering they are at fault anyway. A couple more weeks pass and the car is finally ready! We return the rental & i find out that my card has been charged $450+ just for the rental! Wow! I definitely did not have that to spend on a rental car.. way to "take care of it".. Anyway, we proceed to pickup my car only to find that my radiator is now leaking, the reservoir BUSTED TO PIECES, and the engine replaced with a shotty junkyard engine that is leaking (to this day, actually). Definitely not drivable. Might I add, NOTHING was originally wrong with my vehicle. A tech had actually commented how great the motor was for the mileage it had when I had originally went to pick it up from the oil change. Isnt that ironic.. Anyways, we were told we had to take the vehicle how it was or they would put a lean on it & keep it. What a great way to handle business, right? So now due to pepboys, I am out over $500, and a vehicle! Might I also add, they NEVER refunded me for my oil change. I received the bill several weeks after we were made to take the vehicle. So if you care about your vehicle, take it to a shop that actually cares about your vehicle too and not just their pockets. I would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone, not even my worst enemy. They have caused me enormous loss both financially & mentally. I have an extremely stressful/limited schedule full of work, school, & clinicals; and they made it all that more harder & stressful for me to get where I need to be and what I need done. Please do not go to pepboys nor fall for their scams. They are out for quotas & money. Just a little bit of pride in your work by checking an oil plug could have avoided all of this. But instead they do not care about your vehicle, they just want the sell. Please do not let anyone else be taken advantage of by this company! Joshua/his crew in Dothan & the headquarters office in Pennsylvania are fueled by greed. They do not care about you or your vehicles.

My wife and I have used Dothan, AL Pep Boys for both our vehicles for the last 18 months. We have had two sets of tires, one distributor, one transmission, an air-conditioning recharge and several oil changes in that timeframe. (Yeah, one of them was free! The credit card lines were down when I went to pay and I was told by the shop manager at the time "Its our problem, not yours!") I have had nothing but positive experiences at this shop, and recommended this shop to all of my Soldiers. (Yes, Im active duty Army out of Fort Rucker.) I believe in the integrity of the staff at this shop and have always been treated fairly and respectfully. (Its one of two auto repair shops that I have trusted to deal in good faith with my wife, without my presence, in all of our 15 years!) I have not been overcharged or oversold on unecessary parts or repairs at this shop, and continue to bring my vehicle here whenever needed. (My wifes TPM light came on even after putting air in the tires, so we brought it in to have the tires checked for a leak. It turned out, the tires were just low. So after running the vehicle up the rack, taking the wheels off and dunk testing them for leaks, and replacing them after finding nothing wrong, my wife was sent on her way with no charge!!) I will continue to support this shop and I encourage you to do the same!! TL;DR: This is a great shop, with great people, doing great work, at a great price!!

Eddie and Brian at Pep Boys in Dothan were fantastic to work with! They diagnosed our cars issues and worked with surrounding dealerships to get very specific parts to their shop in a timely fashion. Eddie kept our family informed of the issues and he was a pleasure to talk with on the phone. He answered my many questions and listened to our circumstances - he even remembered a planned trip and called us to let us know to cancel the trip due to the cars unfixable issues that day. We were able to cancel our plans at an out-of-town hotel without penalty due to Eddies call early in the day. Furthermore, as soon as the part did arrive in the shop, Brian started working on the car. Within a few short hours of the part arriving, we were picking up our car. Upon hearing that my husband was prior military serving in many overseas deployments, he give our family the military discount. This meant a lot to our family. Thank you, Eddie and Brian for your work on our car! We appreciate your service to our family. Merry Christmas!

I took my 2001 Mustang GT here a few months ago and they replaced the brake master cylinder, right wheel hub, flushed the brake system, and aligned the front end. It costed over $800. Well I called a couple weeks ago and asked how much it would be to do a drain and fill for the differential. I was supplying the fluid. They wanted over $60. Thats pure ridiculous for just a drain and fill. That might be right if they had to supply the fluid. They charge way to much for labor. In the end I took it to A1 Tire in Cowarts and they done it for half that price. They done a great job, too. Unlike Pep Boys, I didnt have grease all over my car when I picked it up. Also dont get your vehicle towed by Pep Boys either. They claim that if youre 20 miles or under its only $20. That may be true at the time, but they make it up in your ending bill. I highly recommend you check out A1 Tire, in Cowarts, instead of going here unless youre rich or like grease all over you paint.

My husband took my car in today to get the fluids changed. They said there was a leak (which we knew about) but to determine they needed to run a test. My husband declined the service. When he arrived to get the vehicle it still wasnt taken back because they discovered the tire wheel rod ends needed to be replaced and our new total would be 400 something. My husband declined the service when the vehicle was done he went to check out and it was $83.19! My husband realized they charged him $35 for a test ?! And when he asked for a copy of the mechanics notes about the tire rod they man declined and said thats his copy ? Ive never heard of that ! I feel completely swindled and now seeing from reviews we should have gone somewhere else!
