Wonderful experience with the folks at Autonation Ft. Payne. Drove 111 miles one way to do business with these folks and do not regret it at all! Came home with our new vehicle feeling like it was time well spent and even enjoyed! Thanks Richard Reed and Brody and all of the folks at Ft. Payne autonation.******Unfortunately, I have to make an edit to my original post. 4 trips back and forth to Ft. Payne to try to resolve issues that should have been resolved before the vehicle was sold to us. I replaced the battery the fist week of ownership, that was okay, I didnt balk that. Next week find our CD player does not work on radio. Come back in and let them change out radio with another on lot. Meantime, brakes are making a noise. Appointment made and drive the 111 miles on Saturday morning to have problem fixed. Get there to find out that car they were to switch radios with had been sold and no one had notified the service dept so we were not notified. Had to struggle to get brakes fixed even though they had noted on pre-sale inspection that there was a problem. Fixed brakes and had to get back to us on radio. Again, the next week discovered that no heat on right hand side of car including defroster. Finally, after fussing that I should not have to pay a diagnosis fee, on final trip radio and heat was fixed. Service department was good but could only do as sales allowed. Sales department left us with the impression that they wanted to wash their hands of the problems we inherited and had to be pushed. Would not buy here again.

We live out of state. Way out. We were assured this truck was in pristine condition, and they could NOT come down any more than their "bottom line". We scrutinized the pictures. They looked great. Clean Carfax. My husband, who knows vehicles inside and out, asked all the right questions and was basically lied to. We were told the truck would be loaded up and moved to another dealership that very night unless we put $500 down on it and came within 48 hours with a cashiers check for the balance. He rented a car and drove from Dallas to Fort Payne with said cashiers check, within 48 hours, expecting the truck that had been described. There were scratches and dents on that truck that somehow the photos didnt catch. The tailgate was warped. The leather seats were cracked and in terrible shape. The undercarriage was full of rust. BUT, they COULD put him in a nice truck on the lot (NOT the make or model he wants). And now, gosh, theyll knock another $750 off their "bottom line" to sell him the truck he didnt want any longer once he saw it. The one he traveled 12 hours to buy. He didnt even need to drive that truck. He walked away, a little wiser. Was this a well executed bait and switch? We think so. We are older, retired, and now out hard earned time and money. We were ready to pay cash. No finance, no trade-in. We are honest and expected these people to be honest in return. Well eventually find a seller who is, and that person will get our business. Save yourself the trouble, and look elsewhere.

I am a 21-year-old college student who works full time as a server and manager at a restaurant. I have no credit as I bought my first car outright. Said car has given me trouble since the day I bought it (I was sold a lemon at 18 because the salesmen in Alabaster knew I had no idea what I was doing). After putting well over $4,000 OVER what the dang thing was worth only to find something new wrong with it after each repair and knowing I would have to commute in one semester, I decided to try for a car. Kirby worked with me literally all day to get me into a vehicle. Financing me would have been a breeze had I not been a ghost credit-wise. Even so, she continued to contact me and give me options and ideas on who to talk to for help. I looked elsewhere, at places who specialized in no credit. I was offered a car with payments of $307 for 66 months... and a 25% interest rate! Nope. I could have died. I came crawling back to Kirby on a Sunday, this time with my boyfriend of 7 years co-signature. I left the next day in a better car (fully loaded) with less miles and a better CarFax... for $250 a month and 11% interest (though I do plan to refinance). This was literally a dream come true. I have never been so thankful. Everything youve heard about CGF is wrong unless its wonderful. Greg called me himself to give me the good news and genuinely seemed almost as happy as I was. What sweet people. I am so surprised by it. Go let them help you!

The finance person Don Gentry is a snake. He only tells you what he wants you to know, which benefits him. My wife and I questioned the used vehicle rates and terms multiple times (since I have an excellent credit score) and were made to feel that we couldn’t do any better than what was offered. The vehicle they had was exactly what I wanted so I went ahead with the purchase. After leaving Carl Gregory and doing some research, I discovered not only could I have gotten a much lower interest rate through a local lender but the lender he used would have given me lower rate! I suggest that you go prepared with your financing pre-approved and review the fine print of everything he presents to you. I have since refinanced the vehicle @ 1.5% less with shorter terms than what was offered to me, thanks to my credit union. So, when I called to cancel the bogus gap insurance that I didn’t even need, Don tells me I can’t cancel it until I’ve made three payments. That was laughable! He was just trying to keep his commission in his pocket. We are so displeased with our experience at Carl Gregory, there is no way I’ll even go back to receive the free oil change and detail service they gave me! I am going back to Harbin to the salesman that i have been dealing with for over 20 years and need my head examined for leaving there to start with.

SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY REVIEW: Had an issue with my 15 Mustang. Its hard to take days off at my job, but I was able to get one. Showed up at 8:30am for an appointment. By 10:30am they figured out what they were going to replace. They gave me a loaner and I was able to go pick the car up after work the next day. Very nice folks and their guy Rocky runs around there with a purpose. Would have given it 5 stars if they could have got parts and fixed it while I was there since I was going to wait all day to be fixed, its up to a 1.30hr drive from my house to the shop, 1.15hr drive from work to the shop. Will be going back to them again as the issue they fixed is, low and behold still fixed. 2nd EDIT: For anybody hat visits this facility please keep in mind when filling out an emailed survey, the service writer will be scored by this. Even if your issue was something that s not in relation with the service writer. If the guy that helped you did a good job, even if the question is a broad based question encompassing multiple departments he will still be the one that is going to be scored low and held to blame. Rocky helped me and did an AWESOME job! The guy didnt even have a slow walk at all, he was speed walking everywhere. Thanks so much for correlating my repairs I couldnt have ask for anything better.
