BEWARE THIS IS PLACE HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STAFF IS VERY RUDE ESPECIALLY NORMAN WHICH IS THE SERVICE MANAGER! IM OFFICIALLY DONE, I CUT UP MY PEP BOYZ CARD! I have given this place chance after chance. My first experience was horrible over a year ago, Norman the Service Manager is very rude. I purchased a brand new set of tires that cost over $700. I also asked them to change my oil. I dropped my car off at 11am and returned to pick it up after work at 5pm, my car was still in the same spot I left it at 11am. I asked if my car was ready he said "NO" but Ill put two techs on it now. I asked why is it taking so long, he responded that he had a tech that took off because his wife went in labor, honestly I cared less about the techs personal situation. Ive worked in management, difficult situations come up, you have to run with it. I end up leaving Pep Boys at 640pm. Then, I got in my car and noticed my oil had not been changed. I later went there to change my oil and rotate tire because I have a lifetime free tire rotation, dropped my car as normal on my lunch, picked it up at 5pm and my oil was changed but didnt rotate my tires. So, the last time I visited this particular store took the cake. I called and asked a price, then I dropped my car off on my lunch and they talked to me so rudely, I told them that my car tires are worn after having them just a year. I said it look as if its a front end issue, then I told then that I only let them operate on my vehicle but I caught a flat and realized that the tire was first on the front and was rotated to the back. However, my tire was so worn that you could see the wire, mine you, I had just had my tires rotated so basically they seen my tire worn but they didnt tell me because they didnt want me to use my warranty. Now, the warranty has expired and I had to pay $200 for one tire. I have contacted corporate on several occasions, its like they do not care. They even reported it to the Service Manager and gave him my name, which is very unprofessional on their part, some things should be confidential. So, I think Pep Boys as a whole needs some work, not just the store in North Little Rock, AR, which honestly needs a entire new staff. I heard the manager yelling about he didnt want to talk to a customer because he may have to curse or tell her a few choice words. This place needs to replace the staff or close, its really giving Pep Boys a bad name. Im also contacting an attorney concerning my problems with them. They only received one star because thats required to be able to post.

Ive been here before and had good work done however, I was sending my mom over for a third estimate but was concerned about the MANY negative reviews online and the manager, Norman said that they "werent concerned about reviews and he had a lot of people in front of me and I could either take it there or not" very unpoetically. I find this disconcerting because as a customer and a potential return customer I want to know that the company highly value the feedback from customers. Second, while I understand (from almost half my life being in customer service) that their are simply some customers in which you just cannot please but this tends to be the minority and to suggest that reviews doesnt matter because the MAJORITY rates it poorly is simply denial and disregard for the need to make positive changes that benefit the CUSTOMER as it did not seem that Norman was interested in doing. Norman later went on to say that he had been there 15 years as if this would bring assurance but it only left me questions this place even more. I understand that everyone has there own opinions but when the consensus says there is a problem with what you are doing, I think its a good idea to start taking reviews a little more seriously. On the account of Normans (the automotive manager answering the phone at 8a who initially put me on hold to get the manager and then all of a sudden was the manager and had been for 15 years) customer service the place gets one star and I couldnt imagine dealing with this guy in the event that I had an issue with any work that they might have done for me. Again, for customer service I wish I could rate this less that one star.

I thought Id take the cheap route and take my car to Pep Boys for diagnostics to tell me what was needed on several issues on my car. I was first me with the manager having an argument with an employee right in front of me behind the counter, and with no apologies after it was over for doing so in front of me. Id already printed off a list of the issues I had with the car and gave it to the technician. He looked at it with a confused look and handed it back to me and just pointed to the items and asked if I could read them to him. Not the best warm and fuzzy feeling but I went with it. He first said that it would be over $200 for them to just tell me what was wrong with the car ($100 more than the dealer would have charged me). I told him this and he came down on the price. A day later, I got a call from them stating that the car needed extensive repairs that would be over $2000. I told him to STOP, close the hood and Id be out to pick it up right away. When I got there, they showed me the needed repairs and what the breakdown of the bill. Several items were duplicated with "unspecified shop fees" which they couldnt even tell me what that was. On the ticket, theyd also noted "Car is not drivable and customer refuses needed repairs". Yeah, this customer wasnt borne yesterday and yeah, hes refusing these bogus repairs. I took the car straight to the dealer and they got me right in and 2 hours later theyd made all needed repairs at only $390 which included a FREE diagnostics as well as a FREE oil change. Yeah, lesson learned, Ill never take my car back to Pep Boys, from now on, its only going to the dealer!

While traveling through Little Rock, I had to have my car repaired. The wheel bearing was obviously going bad and I still had several hundred miles to go. I picked Pep Boys because it was a block from where my wife was staying for work. They had several bays, and seemed to be busy, so I assumed they must be OK. I made an appointment for 8 oclock in the morning and was assured they would get right on it, first thing. When I called at 10:30 I was told that the technician was still checking it out. When I walked to the shop at 12:00, my car was still where I had parked it the previous day. When I inquired about the status, I was told they would get it right on the rack. When I asked why I was lied to earlier, the service rep got very hateful and walked off. In about 15 minutes, a gentleman came out to pull my car into the bay. He was covered in grease and oil. He hopped into the car and pulled it in. Usually, techs will put down a paper cover to keep the seats clean. Not here. I knew what the problem was, and didnt need much diagnosis, just needed the bearing changed. I walked back to the hotel knowing that it should be ready within the hour. When I returned, at 3:00, the car was still on the rack, in the bay, untouched. Now, Im beginning to get a bit annoyed. I sat outside and waited for 2 hours for my car to be finished. I had to stay another night at the hotel, because I cant drive at night. I missed a whole night of work and to top it off, they overcharged me for the part. My local Pep Boys quoted me $79 for a part they charged me $168 for. Buyer beware.
