General Manager Danté Abordo told me that he "cant trust me" because I only have one phone number. Thats after one of his young, uppity employees tried to threaten me for asking questions. Dont rent from these jerks unless you are OK with being a distrusted and disrespected "customer." When I arrived 30 minutes before closing the day before my move, I was told they wouldnt rent me the truck I had reserved because I didnt immediately give them a second phone number when asked. No time to rent a truck elsewhere, so I had to think fast! I relented and gave them a made-up phone number. But no, they said, you have to answer correctly the first time. Finally, I insisted that the girl behind the counter call my fax/voicemail line, which isnt even a real phone, to confirm that my voice answers. OK, she said, shell rent me the truck after all, but I had to repeat all of my information, because she deleted my reservation when I said I have only one phone number. I asked why she needed two phone numbers. "Policy." Thats not a reason, I said. It took several round trips before she was finally able to answer my question: "I dont know." OK, then. Thats when "Jimmy" told me to "lose the attitude" several times in a threatening manner. When I told him to remember who was the customer, he said, "I dont care." I told him Id be sure to pass that on to Mr. Abordo. "I dont care," he responded, "Its only nine bucks an hour." Alrighty, then! The next day, when I asked Abordo why two phone numbers are required, he replied, "If you cant give the basic information, we cant trust you enough to rent you a truck." Good to know. Abordo also refused to credit a $10 fee I was forced to accept because they didnt tell me I had to bring my insurance card to rent the truck. I asked why they dont disclose the requirement for two phone numbers and an insurance card. He answered, "U-Haul wont let us tell you that when we take the reservation." Yeah, right. I will drive miles out of my way and pay twice as much to never do business with U-Haul on El Camino in Belmont.

I rented a truck from them yesterday. And got hit with $50 even for 2 gallon gas (23 miles high way miles). I called to ask how many gallon was charged. The assistant manager Elizabeth Kucel refused to explain to me, and only after a minute, she put me on hold for more than 20 minutes. I had to drive from FC to Belmont to see her. She still refused to explain how many gallon was charged. Then she said "I refuse service to you", and called the police for this. How can you refuse service after you took money from a customer?? I asked for her manager phone number, she gave me reservation number. And finally I was told by reservation manager that they charged me 5 gallon. I feel sorry for a person like Liz. Life would be so much more pleasant without people like her.

I called several days in advance to rent a truck in Belmont to take stuff 2 miles from my house to put in storage. The night before the rental, they called me and told me I had to pick up the truck in downtown San Francisco! I had to pay $1 per mile to and from San Francisco - an extra $65 in mileage, not to mention paying $30 per hour travel time for my driver!! I could not cancel, since i had arranged to hire several guys to do the lifting and moving. Would recommend trying someplace else to rent a truck.

Went to go fill up my propane tank, the guy filling it, was belligerent and harassed us during the our time there to the point where we left, we to this day have no idea why the U-Haul guy was so pissed at us. How difficult is it to just fill up a propane tank? How hard is it to not harass customers for 10 min? As I can see from the reviews my experience was not a anomaly.

Was offered free storage for 1 month by U-Haul and took the offer. I used the free month and after I moved out. 2 Months later I get a bill for the free month. If you have to use U-haul dont store anything here. Im still fighting them for over 200 in storage fees and late fees for a storage month I didnt fully use and should have been free

After years of renting @ the U-Haul Hell that is the San Francisco main U-Haul Center at Paul Ave location, this Belmont location is well run, well inventoried, polite and a customer oriented franchise. I will continue to go out of my way to rent here. They get you on your way in a reasonable amount of time and the employees are great.

The customer service here is so poor. The workers are not that bright. They do not know anything about the equipment or accessories they sell in their store. And certainly dont try to get a refill on your camping sized propane canister.

Good service for short local moves. Free night drop-off is very convenient. My manager Maria Rueda was very polite even at the end of the day. No extra money was charged. Im completely satisfied by this service.
