I have a 2006 Forester. I bought it new. I have had 90% of the service at the dealership in SC. Come to find out that I have a hairline crack on the head and was told by SCSubaru it will cost $3K+ to repair. I went to get a comparative assessment and yes it is true. I fount it up further research that if I had my coolant lines flushed and coolant replaced every two years this problem could have been averted and my car would have lasted probably at least 3-4 more years without such a huge expense. I ask you why did not the dealership suggest this to me?? Yes, the coolants have changed in past years and they are "life-time" etc...but on the back of all these new coolants it states replace every two years. This is gross negligence on the part of the service center. I am making an appt. with the manager to see if it is possible to negotiate --- what to negotiate??? I will let you know if they help me. **Reportedly, Subaru has fixed this problem on later models. I think I would like to buy another one..love the car and that is why it is such a bad thing that my car is basically toast at this point. It is worth $3K trade-in with a $3K repair....I think they are just making money and I feel had! I hope to be able to rate the start much better after my mtg with the manager.

Horrible never shop here, perfect example of corporate robbery. Bought a used vehicle, 2004 low milage, new transmission. A year to date after purchase tansmission went out less than 12,000 additional miles added on. Had to pay for new transmission in full, 100 point inspection done " Everything was ok and good to drive. 28 days later the same transmission problem occured, so we returned to the dealership. Now to find that we need another new transmission, the turbo failed and sent mettal into the engine block and now 11grand is needed for repairs. We bought the vehicle just over a year ago and put less than 18000 new miles o it and now have to pay 11grand on too of the 8grand that we currently owe. Subaru has done nothing to due diligence and arw not willing to remediate what i would see as smart business. Does anyone have any similar experiences. If so please share and i would like to get together sometime. I want to get enough information and stories and go to SANTA CRUZ Sentinel, The Mercury News, local news stations and radio stations. My experience has been horrible and is effecting mine and my familys physical and and nental well being. Were lossing everything because of this.

Not worth your time. After spending 3 hours driving, hours of negotiating, getting my credit checked way too many times, and ending up with a monthly finance quote and length of loan that I didnt agree to, they offered me to go with a cash price. So next day I come with the cash price, and I try to negotiate a little since it is CASH. But then they turn around, tell me a story that the car is being looked at by another person. Instead of giving me the negotiated price, they just start to ignore me. I asked them to update me, but that call never came. Called again, and they said they are still working on it and will call me back. Never did. So after all this time, and trying my best to accommodate their asking price, they disappear off the map and dont return my phone call. Sales guy (GO) was a good guy but he was off for the next two days. So had to deal with the sales manager (S), but he was acting like the sales guy from hell. Maybe he wanted the sale all to himself with this new buyer. I just know I will not be buying any car from this place.

Just bought a new Subaru at another dealer and came in here for the first service, because it is the closest Subaru dealer to where I live. I made an appointment, but had to wait much longer than quoted. The waiting room is some couches in the middle of the showroom with no air conditioning, and it was hot. My service rep suggested that next time I bring it in 1000 miles sooner than stated on the maintenance schedule because they have seen better results with other customers. Weird. Bad feeling about this place. Not comfortable bringing my car back to them.

I have been a customer of Subaru of Santa Cruz for over 14 years, but my recent experience with the service manager and GM leaves me very disappointed, and I will never do business with them again! Subaru of Santa Cruz is running a shady business, one where its all about who you know. When it comes to safety recall notices and airbags, I think everyone should be treated fairly and orderly. I would not recommend purchasing or servicing your vehicle at Subaru of Santa Cruz.

Took my wifes car in for 2 recalls. Got the vehicle back with the dash covered in grease. Took it back and they "cleaned it" (Im still finding more grease prints). Being a dealer employed tech, Im very unsatisfied with the service managers comments to me about it and their lack of willingness to make it rigjt. At my dealer, the car would have been given a complimentary detail at that point (and the tech would have been chewed out). Very poor service

Took my 2004 Subaru Forrester in for diagnostic check, after strange noises under car. Scott in service department went on drive with me, and KNEW that trannymount was one of the problems. We were only a block away!! Russ at customer service VERY helpful and knowledgeable, as well. The lot has "alot" of new and used vehicles should I be "in need"---I would DEFINITELY recommend Santa Cruz Subaru for your next new, or used car experience!!

The staff there is friendly they are eager to give you great customer service and want you to be happy and satisfied with your purchase. We did have one issue with miscommunication, however they remedied that fast, got to top of it, did all the leg work which required alot of expediting and I admire their professionalism. I want to thank the Subaru team for doing a great job.

Wow some very strange reviews on here. I love this place. I think some people just dont ask questions before hand and then get mad. I have purchased cars from these guys and the service staff and sales staff are top notch. I say stop by and see for yourself. I did many years ago and it was well worth it.....

Called to ask about warranty on a used WRX I want to buy. The finance guy was extremely short with me and a little condescending. When I finally got the information from him, he mumbled it, when I asked him to repeat he laughed. Needless to say, when I buy the car, Im going to San Jose for maintenance.

Weve always had excellent service for both of our Subarus. The work is done well. Any problems are noted and discussed. Never any pressure to get the repairs done right away. They do a number of extras for no charge. Cars are ready when promised. Always very pleasant and helpful.

The online manager or sales man is very unprofessional and rude. They dont care about the customer buying, concerns or needs. Chocking to see this on year 2016. The review rating system force the us the users to give at-least 1 start and Im not allowed to give much less.
