******Updated on 6/17/2014******* After I posted negative reviews on Autonation Toyota Cerritos on Google and Yelp, I contacted AutoNation ( They are nation wide big corporation.)main office on 6/14/2016. On 6/15, someone from AutoNation contacted me. She told me that she would talk to the sales person and the manager regarding the missing key. On 6/16, Claudia from Autonation Toyota Cerritos contacted me that she found 2 keys + 1 key number plate. Today, 6/17, I received 2 keys+ 1 key number plate from Claudia. Big thanks to Claudia. I posted negative review with 1 star 2 days ago, today I am posting updated review with 3 stars since I received all the keys for my 2015 XB, 3 weeks after my purchase. Please read my entire review and hopefully someone can make use of my bad experience with AutoNation Toyota Cerritos . Purchased a 2015 Scion XB on 5/27/2016. Very disappointed by their after customer care. Check everything before you buy from them. Check owners manual, what is missing, even the car is only one year old, with low millage, only registered by the dealer, dont trust. Check everything before you sign any papers. They never get you back, they never call you back once you buy the car. My car / 2015 Scion XB only registered by AutoNation Toyota missing 2 keys and 1 key number plate which allows owner to get spare key without hustle. I asked them to look for them and they said yes, never get back to us. I purchased 2015 Scion XB from AutoNation Toyota Cerritos on 5/27/2016. We checked Carfax report, 2015 XB had 8000 miles on it, great condition, the car was only registered by AutoNation Toyota, means it was only owned by This Toyota dealer. It was a big point for us. We never imagined the car comes with only one key. We found out after we signed all the paper works and finished payment. The moment the sales person, Mr.Ortega handed us the key, he only gave us one key. We asked where is spare key, he said they dont have. I thought a car comes with 2 master keys at least. We asked him to look for the key and get back to us. After that, we found out this 2015XB comes with 2 master keys 1 valet key 1 key number plate ( this allows for owner to make duplicate of the key in the case of emergency. ) I was very very shocked that car dealer only had one key for us. Where are other 2 keys? Are they sitting at your service department somewhere? Did you guys lose them? Does someone have our car key? I trusted the car since it was pre-owned by AutoNation Toyota Cerritos. I never dreamed of the car has only one key when the car came with 3 keys to begin with. We never heard from Mr.Ortega after that. We texted him again and asked the same question around 6/2/2016. His reply was " there is a box with keys in service department. I will go check it." Then we never heard from him for a week. Last time when we asked him what happened, he replied as " I do my best." Finally, my husband gave up on him last Thursday, 6/9/2016. I e-mailed my concerns regarding keys to Mr. Kevin Naderi General Manager AutoNation Toyota Cerritos on 6/8/2016. I never heard from him. My husband called him yesterday left him message. I e-mailed him again this morning. No reply. They have kept sending me all the follow ups e-mails asking us " contact us if there is any concern." When we contact them, they never get us back. I was very disappointed by how they take care of customer after the deal. All I asked to them was to look for the missing keys and get us back. Since there is high chance these keys are sitting somewhere at the dealer. 6/14/2016 today. My advises for people going to AutoNation Cerritos dealer are 1 : Dont trust Pre-owned Certified car even the car was only registered by dealer. 2 : Check owners manual, make sure everything come with the car or not before you sit on the table with sales person. 3: Make sure how many keys are coming with the car.

Long story, short: Power Toyota of Cerritos is a shady dealership and acted in bad faith when the deposited our check on Friday, despite having sold the car we had already purchased on Wednesday. They even had the gall to demand the check back, clearly under the delusion that they had delivered the car. On Monday (07/26/10), my boyfriend and I purchased a used car from Power Toyota of Cerritos. We signed all the papers (including the vehicle/vessel transfer form and retail installment sale contract) and put down over 50% as a deposit in the form of a check. We were issued a temporary registration, which was affixed to the bottom right hand corner of the windshield on our new used car. The salesperson told us that the car was about to be painted (to cover a very obvious scuff mark on the front bumper)and that we could choose to leave the car until we could pick it up on Friday. On Wednesday (07/28/10), Power Toyota of Cerritos resold the same car to someone else and failed to inform us. On Friday (07/30/10), Power Toyota of Cerritos contacted our AutoNation Direct representative and told her to tell us to come down to the dealership and pick up our car. Five minutes after the call from our AutoNation representative, we received a call from the dealership who told us that they had "accidentally" sold our car to someone else. My boyfriend put a stop payment on the check, but Power Toyota had informed us they had already deposited it. On Saturday (07/31/10), we returned to the Power Toyota of Cerritos dealership to sort things out. The General Sales Manager Dave Canova (middle-aged, tan skin with dark, slicked back hair) admitted fault and said they couldnt possibly ask for the car back because that would be unfair to the customer. He said he would try to offer more car (ie less mileage, newer) for the same price we paid. Unfortunately, none of the cars he offered (a beaten up 05 Toyota Camry and an 03 Toyota Corolla with an accident) came close to the one we originally purchased. This dealership lost our trust and lost our business. We refused his offer. On Monday (08/02/10), the two of us are relieved to see that the stop payment was successful and the dealership never got our check. Yesterday (08/03/10), Power Toyota at Cerritos had the gall to call my boyfriend and harass him about cancelling the check. They demanded that payment be made because this person was under the delusion that they had delivered us our car. My boyfriend attempted to relay the situation, but to no avail. The salesperson just didnt understand. My exasperated boyfriend, told the salesperson to go talk to his general sales manager and leave us alone.

VERY DISHONEST DEALER- CAUTION! My husband and I purchased a new Sienna van (which we love) from this dealer and we experienced multiple, serious and dishonest problems with the dealer. First off we turned in a full paid for vehicle as part of the deal and brought that car in the day before for it to be looked at and were given a written price for that car. !2 hours later when we came back to complete the transaction they said the trade-in would be $1000 less unless we could prove to them that the convertible top worked—it did work perfectly but it was never brought up the day before when the trade in was being evaluated. Secondly the check for the trade in never came to us. We called and called and called – never got a return call and when we did speak with people got excuse after excuse. We were told the check should arrive to us in about 2 weeks. Finally nearly a month went by and I went into the dealer and they looked for the check and found our $13500 check – dated 2 weeks pervious to the date I was there, “sitting on someone’s desk”. Next problem was they did not forwarding third party services paperwork for completion to LoJack so our tracking and warning system could not get installed. We paid for this but could not get it installed until the dealer sent the paperwork into LoJack—a month went by and nothing. Next problem was missing areas inside the car in applying the PermaPlate protestant. Problems continued as the service department told me it would be 1 ½ weeks before they could give me an appointment to complete some work and repairs on an open due bill for things that were part of the new car purchase that the dealer needed to fix—but had no time to on the day of the purchase of for over a month following that date. So why does this dealer have such great ratings? Well the people we dealt with made a point of telling us (and providing written instructions too) that is was VERY IMPORTANT if we get a follow-up call or survey we give them all excellent ratings in every category, and anything less would be considered a failing score. So there are a lot of coached false consumer ratings for this dealership because the employees make a very strong and clear point to tell the customer—“rate everything as excellent”. They are so far from excellent in their dishonest business, service and financial practices. Be very careful and buy your car elsewhere!
