Took a car with electrical issue, having problem to start. I drove it all the way there as they were supposed to expect me. Waited 10 min inside the office while they finally manage to pay attention at me while car was left outside on running engine. After 15 min they finally looked at the car outside starting to wave at me through the window. Car apparently started to smoke during my wait. Nobody touched it. They waved at me for 2 min and nobody dared to turn it off or come tell me whats going on. It could have burned. When I got outside the office realizing whats going on they started yelling at me for bringing them a none-starting car. Apparently during my wait in the office another component burned. After they finished yelling at me for bringing them a car they are supposed to be specialized on, they asked me to authorize them $1000 to tell me what the problem is before the repairs. I thought they are joking. Nobody has ever asked me for such sum to check on my car. This guy Sean got mad at me for not giving him $1000 to check on it as Fares already agreed over the phone to check on it without mentioning an amount like that. It was an absurd situation. I stayed there for 1h trying to figure out a way to deal with them and my none-running car. I ended up taking a cab After 2 days they asked me for $2500 to fix it. Of course I said no and towed my car back. Whoever says these guys are "reliable" or "good at what they do" is an idiot. People go there to replace brakes and change fluids, things every 16 y old could do on his own and they think the shop is fantastic. When you come with serious problem on your car they act like thats their very first car to fix and unable to handle customer asking for amounts $1000 for diagnosis. All reviews below are fake. Barely a few state the matter of their car problem. This place is a scam. Fares and Sean are incompetent clowns. This place is not a European AutoHouse, they should change the name to "Brake service and sometimes more". You go there, you get conned

Here is why Fares & his mechanics are the best: 1) He is a true professional that takes pride in his work. If something is wrong he will fix it and make sure it works perfectly. The first time I went to his shop another mechanic drove by and asked Fares if he would fix a problem the other mechanic couldnt figure out! If you like the best in the field working on your car look no further. 2) He always goes the extra mile. Clean your car, pick you up, drop you off...I recently needed the computer reset for a smog test and he drove my car to the smog station without me asking and finished up the smog check himself. Those kinds of things go a long way, especially when you are dealing with the inconvenience of being down a car. 3) Honesty and quality save money in the end. If you are loyal to Fares he is loyal to you. He will do everything he can to save you money on a job and make sure you get the best prices for everything. Instead of some poor quality fix after Fares works on a car you know it will run perfectly and can rely on it. So in conclusion, if you believe in good business where the customer matters go here. If this was a public company I would definitely buy shares!

I started going to Fares when VW wanted to overcharge me for an oil change and to fix my glove compartment on my beetle. Then all of a sudden my transmission went crazy, Amoco wouldnt touch it as they said that it was one of the 10 transmissions on their do not touch list (and that it couldnt be fixed as it was a defect for my year/model car) and VW wanted to charge me $5100 just for the transmission, not even for the labor. I know, crazy! I went to Fares and he told me unequivocally without a doubt that my car could be fixed (transmission rebuilt) & at a substantially better price. And he also has a great warranty on his repairs and services. I went to get my car after Fares fixed it, and not only did it run smoothly, but Fares also washed it! I was like wow! The ambiance is great there also. The people (mechanics) are friendly and there is a cozy lobby with magazines and coffee. It is really a home like feel at Independent. Fares definitely has my business forever, and he should have yours. You wont regret it!

The best auto service experience Ive ever had. By far. My 05 A4 was limping around and desperately needed its 10,000 mile service, an oil/filter change, a new brake light, and a new gas cap. I brought it in at 1pm, and received a call 90 minutes later because everything was already done. Less than 100 bucks for everything - Fares didnt even charge me for labor. The service and professionalism here is absolutely 5-star. I felt very respected and cared for as a customer, and walked away with the sense of satisfaction you can only get from the certainty that you got 100% of your moneys worth (since Fares didnt even charge me for labor, I probably got 150% of my moneys worth). You should absolutely do business with these people if you live in the Pasadena area. Even if youre not local to Pasadena, you should still do business with these people. They run their business the right way, and you wont get a better auto service experience anywhere else.

This place is amazing. The notion that you can get your Audi or VW quality repairs for cheap is false. However going to the dealership or many of the other VW/Audi approved repair centers is the easiest way to pay upwards of 25% more than necessary for repairs on your cars. Fares and the good people at Independent Audi/VW have shown me that there is a repair shop out there that will get you the best price possible, do a thorough inspection of your vehicle, and ALWAYS return it to you in better condition than when you dropped it off. Ive been coming to Fares for a brief 3-4 years, and even after moving, I make the drive to have my cars big repairs (some minor ones too) done here. You cant ask for a better experience when trying to get your Audi/VW repaired. It will always be expensive when dealing with Audi/VW repair, but go to Fares to make it as affordable as possible.

Fares took care of my 05 Turbo Beetle after having had work done at several different "VW specialists" being ripped off and lied too... fares fixed my problem ( engine coils out ) which had been "repaired" 3 times this year for more than 1/2 the price and in only 2 hrs (with an oil change and repaired blinker too!) ... the guy to go too... i feel so lucky i finally found someone to work on my car that will actually get the the job done and with a big bright smile on his face!! Thanks again Fares ill be back :) Chelsea

Fares and his team at Independent Audi and VW are the only technicians I trust with my 05 Audi A4 1.8T CVT. Even Audi dealers pale in comparison. Fares is reliable, trustworthy, and extremely honest. He will never push service on you that you dont absolutely need. He has fair and honest prices and I cannot emphasize the quality of his work. I am a proud Independent Audi and VW customer and recommend the shop to all Audi and VW owners. You will not be disappointed. Trust me.
