Wow!!! Now that I have read some of these other reviews, I dont feel like its "just me" as the post office would have me think. Seriously, they have tried to tell me, "Gee, we havent had any other complaints like this," as if Im the only one, as if Im the problem, or as if Im lying. We moved here in February 2013 and have had nothing but problems with mail delivery. My husband and I are from the Bay Area, but we have also lived in very rural areas as well. NEVER have we ever had such horrid mail service as we have had since moving to Chico. Even in Magalia when we had two feet of snow on the ground, our mail got delivered. I will say that my husband pointed out that rural route drivers, though, are usually independent contractors, not postal employees. I could rant for days here, itemizing all of the things that have gone wrong, the times our carrier has indicated that our packages have been delivered when they have not, items taking 30 days to reach a destination within California, items never ever getting here that Ive purchased on eBay, but here is the most scary one of all. Some time ago a very nice older couple showed up at our door and said "we thought you folks might need your prescriptions." They found them on top of a mail box two blocks from our home...and yet the postal carrier indicated in tracking that they had been delivered. Our insurance requires us to mail order our prescriptions, so we are stuck in this regard. Believe me, if we werent, I sure wouldnt be having them delivered via USPS. Im sending a letter to the Postmaster General in Washington, D.C....and Im sending it via Fed Ex so I know it gets there. Maybe if more of us start complaining to the Postmaster General, we might get some action? I dont know, but I dont know what else to do.

I have had two packages in the last month where the tracking update stated delivery complete but was not. Amazon prime offers Sunday delivery and for some reason the drivers at this location can not seem to get it right. I will point out that both interactions with the customer service rep were professional, and she was prompt to call me with any update. After contacting the driver she informed me that the driver had left the package under my mail box on the side of the road and that she could not dispute the delivery. WHAT??? Why would my Item be left on the side of the road, half a block away and not on my doorstep? So this is not a case of the package being lost in transit but simple driver incompetence. Sadly I believe somebody stole my items due to the laziness of the driver. By the way all of this took place within 30 minutes of the status update. Call out to Vallombrosa Ave. location management. Get competent drivers!! Edit 4/12/16: Once again the incompetence of the employees at this location is staggering!!!!! I have been receiving mail for someone that does not reside at my address. I have returned the mail to sender a dozen times indicating that this individual "does not live at this address". Well USPS finally decided to update the residency at my address and started sending all inbound mail back to sender. Good job morons!

Keeps losing my packages from Amazon and dropping off at other peoples house and once my kind enough neighbors return to me it clearly states my address. Also they just today put one of my packages in the parcel box and no keep in my mail box so the key to open the parcel box is in someone elses mail box so I can retrieve my package from Amazon which clearly stated delivered on tracking website saying put in parcel box well I got that but wheres my damn key its like I called usps they said they would call mail guy to come check it out and its 8pm and Ive waited all day and no one came and checked and no one called me back and I waited by mail box. Wtf honestly the job isnt hard so do it right. U get paid to do it so do it. I needed this package by Monday and usps clos d Sundays so how am I suppose to get my package knock door to door in my neighborhood asking them to look in their mailbox for key like seriously thats not my job. Im so pissed

Recently moved to Chico. I had a breast thermography done (similar to a mammogram screening), I was supposed to receive the results in the mail by now. Nothing. Then I get a handwritten note from the carrier on a package from Amazon stating they do not recognize our names and that we need to change our address. I got a picture from a friend who sent me something only to have it returned to her by our vigilante righteous mail carrier. Ive moved I dont know how many times in my life and have never encountered something like this? Ive been waiting forever for my important test results only to find out that because this carrier didnt recognize my name he deemed it necessary to return my mail. There ought to be something that can be done about this. This is the post offices mistake, not ours. What a disgrace.

I have had several packages lost, mail boxes left open, they have lied and said my package was delivered and in reality never even sent it out. I have also had several packages delivered to other peoples houses not even close to mine and have received a ton of other peoples mail including tax information that I had to personally deliver because I do not trust them. EVERY time I call it get blown off its ridiculous they need to start over with staff! Once Again I am disappointed I havent received my bills for the last few months then all of a sudden I received a stack of old bills and a ton of late fees!!! I need to call some forms of management

EVERYTIME I have something coming it will be marked as delivered at least 2 days prior to it actually being delivered. A couple months ago I had ordered something online and it said it was delivered so I checked my box, wasnt there, so I waited a couple days and finally I called two days later and that had delivered it to an apartment complex across the street, my address starts with a 5 and this one started with a 7. I do not understand why things are constantly being delivered to the wrong places and I do not think it is okay to mark things as delivered when they have not been delivered and probably wont even be delivered that day.

I would like to know if anyone else gets their mail at 6 or 7 at night? This is so stupid. I have had mail in my mail box all day with the flag up and now it is after 6pm and still no mail.. I have complained about this and all the post office told me was that they have until midnight of that day to deliever it.My neighborhood never knows when our mail will get here. When we have a sub we will get it earlier in the day. So I see a big problem.Sometimes I dont even get any for a couple of days then I will get a bunch at one time. So whats that tell ya? Dont complain about your mailman. Dont care anymore, Im pissed!!!!
