They seem dangerously understaffed. Theres typically 2-3 counter agents who also run behind them and seem to do all the behind the scenes work too. Maybe 5 people run the entire front-end. Its pretty ridiculous that you now need to buy your own roll of tape and even bring your own pens! They stopped leaving pens out on the various tables in the lobby, and people have started leaving their extra ones for others to use, simply because its the nice thing to do! I went in to get my passport once and the lady come out [during the hours that little side counter is supposed to be open], acting like I forced her off her lunch to come help me. Thats a ridiculously long lunch then. I live literally 2 blocks from them, and they consistently lose my mail and deliver it late; to the point where I get automated calls from NW Energy saying my bills have been returned to them! Well receive our bills for a few months in a row, then suddenly stop for 2 months. Weve updated and double checked that our address with the Energy people are correct several times, only to stop receiving our bills again! We got our bill one month, and still got a call that it was returned to NW Energy. What did the Post Office possibly send back?! The workers themselves are nice enough, its just a super stressful job and they dont have enough people to cover the demand.

I had to go to the post office a few days before Christmas to purchase a single stamp to mail a letter. Little did I know, I went on the busiest day of the year. There were long lines everywhere and people steadily streaming in and out making it a confusing place to be. I asked an employee (who was extremely busy) if they had an automated stamp machine rather than me standing in line to buy one from a cashier. She walked me to the machine and seeing an even longer line asked me if I just needed one stamp. I replied yes, and she told me she would be right back, she was sure she had one in her office. She not only gave me free postage, but stamped and mailed it for me as well. I think its quite amazing that in such a stressful environment an employee can remain a human being, and a kind, giving one at that.

I must thank the Missoula Post Offices for all their help recently. I needed to overnight a package from Missoula to a publisher in Great Falls, so I prepared the package to deliver to their street address. I learned it needed to go to their P.O. Box, so I called the Broadway Station and asked them if they could make the address change. The package had already left for the Kent Station, and I was given the name of a gentleman there. I asked him if he could change the address. He assured me he would flag it when the package came in and would follow up with a call once the change had been made. A few hours later I received the call! Hooray! You are my HEROES!

I went to pick up an item for my wife and was told I could not because she had to do it personally. Ok, fine whatever.... When I said that my wife was going to be angry about it, and that they were going to have to deal with her now, they practically arrested me. Lady came out from behind the counter and said that I needed to watch what I said and that one cant threaten a postal worker. I threatened nobody and could not believe how freaked out they all got. This was during the holidays so perhaps they were a bit tense. Anyway, I avoid this post office. ALWAYS a mad house and the workers are rude. Sorry, its true.

The rudeness of the employees at Kent street is becoming more frequent. Getting tired of the hassle of going on there. Last time I went in I was told my package would be inspected if I wasnt telling the truth about what was in it. Theres absolutely no reason to say that to a customer, because youre insinuating that they are not being truthful. Very rude. Today they refused to ship my package because I had taken a used flat rate box and wrapped it in butcher paper with a new address on it. I just wanted to send it regular parcel post. They refused and said you can not reuse USPS boxes. Perfect example of government waste.

post office is a joke this is the 3rd time ive had issues with them misplacing my mail, last year they lost 2 of my packages that contained family photos took the first package to the wrong address, the other one disappeared they told me then 2 days later after the package went missing for over a month the manager came and hand delivered the package to my house at like 7o clock at night? and now even though it has the right address they misplaced another package of mine that I got mailed to me from Oregon? really how hard is it to misplace someones packages when it has the RIGHT address on it?

I live on the other side of town but my mail is routed through this post office. I was expecting a package and called the Post Office to see if it was there to come pick up. Through a series of automated answers I could never reach an actual person. I called the national post office customer service. The gentleman was very polite and gave me another number to try to Kent St Post Office. It rang for 3 mins no answer. Frustrated, I drove down there, waited in line, gave the employee my name and showed ID. He came back without a package. It was sent 8 days ago priority. Very frustrating...

Within the last couple months after moving my family and myself had a major problem with an address change. The problem was ours in not filling out the forms quite right. After discovering that important shipping items were at risk of not be delivered as scheduled we went to the post office to get help. I have never had service this incredible. These folks including the postal delivery person went WAY above and beyond to get the problem solved. Without going into the whole situation we can assure you what these folks accomplished was miraculous Harrison L

The first postal worker I encountered was rude and told me I would need to buy a huge roll of packing tape to attach my mailing address to my small box I was mailing. I would of loved to mail my package FedEx or a private shippIng business, but unfortunately it could only be mailed USPS. Being stubborn, I left, went and got scotch tape, affixed the address, and then went back and dropped of the package. I should of asked to talk to their superior, but I was on a time crunch. Horrible service...... And they could even give me a piece of tape!!

This place is horrible. Very typical of where your Federal taxes is going. Even been to the social security office? Also federal employees. Lazy, in no hurry to do anything fast, horrible customer service by wretched old women that would rather be knitting their lives away. If you have a package that comes a day early they will toss it in the basement and wait until the expected delivery date. JUST FLAT OUT LAZY.

Weve lived in many cities because Im a retired USAF veteran. This post office is bad and has insulated itself from the public by directing all calls to the national website or a 1-800 number. Our mail is consistently late yet there is nobody to talk to about it. The USPS is getting like the VA - IT NO LONGER WORKS LIKE IT SHOULD. Just look at the ratings here - yet the Postmaster could care less.
