Great facility/size/layout/track/pool, but club management keeps taking simple amenities away that would elevate to 1st class status - upstairs water removed (?!), now downstairs water always broken?! Theres no rush to fix anything there, or at any 24 Ive been to. Biggest club mystery: theres no horizontal lay down hamstring machine manufactured this half-century, yet a host of other great machines. Please borrow or buy from another club, please! This doesnt make sense? Another contradiction: always a host of nice people to greet you upfront who know your name, nice, but none to provide meaningful service, fix things, to make sure members rerack their dumbells (for some reason their afraid of members, never an issue at Equinox) or remove gym bags from walking areas, or act on numerous daily improvement suggestions from members. Employees walk around talking amongst each other for hours in the reception area, with seemingly nothing to do, while lots to fix and oversee upstairs! Suggestion: dont hire anymore lazy young kids. Hire people that can physically maintain equipment and facility. They can easily sit at reception for the same wage and roam the facility during their shift adding value. Trainers are nice and work hard, but way overwork poor first time clients, usually pushing them frighteningly harder than people whove worked out their entire life...I dont see many repeat customers for the abuse. BTW 24 is false advertising based on published hours of operation.

You can definitely tell that at least a portion of these positive reviews were written by 24 Fitness employees. I worked out here twice after the Fashion Island gym closed. I was surprised at the condition of some of the equipment and machines in the weight room. Broken machines, missing dumbbells, torn padding, dirty, chipped paint....... 24 Hour Fitness is all about the bottom line. Money first. I cant even say customer satisfaction comes second, because when something breaks at another 24 Hour Fitness, such as a cable on a lat pulldown, it sometimes takes months to repair. How is that possible? Another thing; the idiot that orders equipment for 24 Hour Fitness must not workout. They get rid of great machines such as the Nautilus Nitro biceps and triceps machines and some very good leg extension and seated leg curl machines and they buy the full line of Hoist machines which look nice, but are total pieces of crap! The leg extension forces you to do a crunch as you are trying to contact your quads. I belong to both LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness. LA Fitness also has some things that they can work on, but they do a much better job of maintaining their equipment and the locker rooms are cleaner. Other gyms to avoid: the old 24 Hour at Triangle Square - lots of room, but so many dumbbells and plates with chipped rubber. The Main Street gym in Huntington Beach is the same. Bathrooms are disgusting! Going to save $480/yr and cancel my Super Sport membership.

I have had mixed feelings about this place but for every bad thing there has been an offsetting good thing. Customer service can be sketchy, it really depends on which manager you talk to but the place is clean, they have towel service and the equipment is in pretty good condition. The hours can be annoying, as they close early on Saturday and Sunday because they cater to the business crowd in Lakeshore Towers. I decided to drop a crap load on a personal trainer and spent 8 months working out twice a week with her. I have to say that this was a very positive experience and was worth every penny. Over 8 months I lost 56 pounds and all of the trainers got to know me and would all encourage me every time I came in. Eventually, I moved out of state so I had to cancel my membership. If I had to do it again, I would, although I spent a lot of money I actually got results and have kept the weight off ever since.

I paid close to $300 for an executive locker and I was assigned one that was already in use by someone else. For $150 a month, you would expect better attention. Luckily the combination they gave me didnt work for the other guys locker. Then, to add insult to injury, their front desk person, Chuck, refused to help me resolve the situation. He told me I needed to take time out of my day to come by during normal business hours and speak to a manager to resolve their mistake. They offered a discount to keep me as a customer, but they didnt ask Chuck to apologize for not providing me with good customer service. I told them that Id only be staying as a customer if Chuck apologizes to me and I have not heard back. I dont really care about the discount, I would just like to be treated with respect--especially given how much they charge.

Ive never had a positive experience with any of my dealings with ANY 24hr fitness. Tonight I get a call from their collections department saying I owe for personal training sessions from April of 2005....YES OVER 5 yrs ago. The best part is they tell me I had complementary 4 sessions package with my pre-paid membership and the 2nd package for $199 that was added on. Also, they see I only used 1 individual session total....yet they say I owe them $199. Why would I agree to an additional 4 sessions if I hadnt even used the free ones? Such an obvious SCAM. So I call the Ultra Sport where I first started my membership, they say call corporate...perfect, just how I wanted to spend the next hour on the phone. Do yourself a favor, Google "24hr fitness scam" before you consider a membership.

I signed up to this gym for work ONLY! I just signed up about 1 week ago. The café there is so bad I ordered a ice tea.. he give me hot tea..I said no I wanted ice tea.. he shake is head no then I said can you give me water. he refer me to the water that everyone shares.. I said no, water with ice.. he gives me water with ice. I said do I get a refund (2.71) he said you are paying for the cup.. I said really..so I walked off and mention it to the front desk and all they can say sorry for that...really!! on top of that, I skip the workout go to the steam room and the bottom wall has mildew at the end of the corner and sticks like it. The Jacuzzi has been out for a week so far it has a little stuff floating in the water.. the womens locker-room is nasty.

At first the place looks intimidating and fancy but in all its an okay gym. Perks digital lockers, you dont need a padlock to lock your stuff various areas to work out (basketball court, small workout room near the track, track, rock climbing plus a smaller wall, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, racketball courts, tvs on treadmills) towel service, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouth wash, q-tips, hair dryer separate wet and dry sauna for men and women Cons parking structure is kinda of far the gym. need to validate when you go very expensive membership swimming pool is outdoors and small not sure why they have a bbq area in the back they need to update some of the machines

About the only good thing about this place is its proximity to my office (for which they deserve no credit.) Just for example, there are two rowers in the entire place; one is presently broken and the other is basically inaccessible every evening because there are classes near it. They have a free weights section I normally cant work out in during the week due to classes, overcrowding, and the woeful lack of space. And then at the weekends they are closed at 8:00 p.m. As if that werent bad enough, I went down at 7:30 p.m. today, and the doors were already locked. If you have any other viable option, take it.
