I believe they are all about the $$$. My engine check light went on, and I saw they did free engine light checks, so brought my car in around 12:30pm. Ken told me he would need to keep it overnight (even though they closed at 5) which was disappointing, but ok. Just before 5 Ken calls me and says the codes didnt give sufficient information and they would need $110 to figure out what was wrong with it. From free to $110, with not enough time to get my car back so I could drive to work in the morning I went ahead and agreed to pay the $110 with Ken saying that the cost would go towards repairs, should I choose to fix it with them. The next morning went by without word from Ken, and we came into afternoon before I assumed he forgot and called him. Ken told me hed have his people look at it and give me a call back, which he did not too long after. Ken said that the repair for a busted sensor would be about $580, to which I explained I did not have the money to do that right now. He asked if I could borrow from family members or girlfriend, which was disturbing. En route there I asked if I could pick it up now, and later that week, when I put the money together to fix it, would the $110 cost already accrued count towards my repair bill as he previously stated. He replied that it would only count if I fixed it then and there (his reason being that they would have to put my car back together, then take it apart again when fixing). This conversation took place when my gf was driving me there, and I arrived 5 minutes later to a completely put together vehicle. All in all Ken seemed like a complete shiester who just wanted to make the quick bucks and didnt follow through with any of his claims.

I have a problem with my gears it wont go to drive and not going through , so I decided to call AAMCO at Lake Forest, I spoke to this soft spoken man name Kenny and I told him the whole problem and whats going on my car,then he asked me if I would like to tow my car in their shops so at first I am skeptical cause I have to go on my budget first. Then decided to call him again and they towed my car that afternoon.The next day I went there with my boyfriend and finally met kenny , I guess he is the manager and he told us about whats the problem of my car. Then I know its a lot of work and talking about financing plan which is really helping me out a lot. He is very helpful and so nice and also those mechanics like Mor and Horacio and others. after three days my car is done and I picked it up the next day. I am completely satisfied on what they did on my car. I will recommend this AAMCO at lake forest to anyone. What a great People. Excellent job !!!

I was well pleased I called around to find a transmission service to do some preventative maintenance on my Ford F-350 Dually. From the very first moment of hearing the technicians voice on the phone, I knew that I wanted him to work on my vehicle if he could do the work and was not too expensive.The invoice was also a MAJOR surprise!! Usually the phone quote and the invoice are MILES apart! NOT HERE! The invoice and the phone quote were EXACTLY (to the penny) the same! I am just used to going in expecting to pay for some HIDDEN COSTS that are listed in the SMALL PRINT on the invoice, but NEVER mentioned in the PHONE QUOTE!

Simple and straight forward these guys fixed my card with an honest cost less than $200 where the Nissan dealership quoted me to replace the whole transmission about 5K. Really helpful people to work with.
