I just wanted to express some concerns and complaints this club. I want to bring to your attention some misconduct that Ive observed, witness and experienced at this particular club. I have a list of complaints and concerns about this club for you all to review. First and foremost, customer service is terrible. The vibe I get from particular employees are not welcoming. It has been like that since the assistant manager left and The new assistant manager, Shantel came abroad. As a club member, Once you step in the door your expected to be greeted kindly. But that is not the case here at this particular club. Not all the employees but mostly all I see are the sale managers chatting and are ALWAYS on their personal cell phones. Not the company phones but their own Cellular device. Makes me feel thats this particular club lacks management here and professionalism. Secondly, I want to reiterate the lack of professionalism and I repeat unethical conduct by the sale counselor by the name of Amanda Sanchez. Several times Ive overheard Amanda and the employees have inappropriate conversations about members of the club and also their personal lives with some of the members. Ive witness Amanda take several different club members of the opposite sex on different occasions back to the employee break room with the doors closed and possibly locked. I am sure that the room is not an office to chat in private about membership services...otherwise what are those desk out on the sales floor for? Another instance, on my visit just recently, an angry and furious member came to cancel her membership and there was a scene on the sales floor that Amanda had made sexual advancements and had an affair with the members husband thus that is why she cancelled her membership. I strongly feel that Amanda is not doing her job in an ethical way to represent 24 hour fitness. Lastly, the last time I checked I thought personal trainers make each club easy to use by guiding and educating their members and clients. I am still in the process of learning more about fitness but before due to financial burdens cannot just afford one on one training. There is this amazing trainer who greets me kindly every time I walk in since the service reps and managers dont. The trainer is name Liberty. Very professional, knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. He is the definition of excellent customer service. He makes customers want to buy training sessions with him and he does his job well. I was coming in yesterday to work out and he was helping a member with the weights... Both his managers approached him and made a scene in the middle of the gym UNPROFESSIONALLY and wondered why he was helping this member. I felt bad for the member because she looked embarrass that she needed the help. And as for the trainer I felt he was being treated unfairly and not justified. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe at this club because I had always thought that the duty of the trainers was to make sure that members can gain knowledge and potentially purchase one on one sessions that can get them to reach their goals. I thought the duty of personal trainers on the floor is to make sure that the safely of the members at this gym is taken care of... I mean well a person whos job description like a manager or a service rep cannot keep the members safe... They have no idea of proper form. Anyways, I came to the gym this afternoon to find out he is no longer with 24 hour fitness. Absurd! I am very unhappy with this particular gym and the customer service, professionalism and ethics here is down the drain... Terrible and it seriously ties back to the management and leadership that this gym lacks. Please send someone to secretly investigate the management here. I hope that you can see that the managers do not care for the members or their workers nor do they care about keeping the 24 hour fitness company reputation at its best..Just my two cents. Bad reputation bad business.

One of the worst 24 hour fitness gyms Ive been to...and Ive been to some really bad ones. Unfortunately, its really the only one that is close by in Long Beach. Pros: -They just painted it and put in some HD tvs (finally?) -Nice staff Cons: -Awful parking situation. There are two entrances and for one of them, if its closed (which it is on occassion), you have to travel to the Queen Mary just to turn around. They only validate after 3:30pm, so really its unusable before then (weekdays). This is my biggest gripe about the place. -Overcrowded -Small -Lack of amenities (they only have one classroom and nothing else that separates from other gyms) -Loaded with dbags (one guy spent a good 20 mins taking pics of himself in the mirror on a flip phone over by the free weights, I kid you not) -Broken equipment everywhere (it seems at least half of their treadmills dont work) -Old weights in the free weight section -Downtown LBC smog The last one is really no fault of theirs, but its pretty unpleasant sometimes coming out from a long workout to practically unbreathable air. Although it does vary.

The staff is at this facility is absolutely considerate, courteous, loving and most of all they make you feel like you are family, they greet you with an sincere smile, they go beyond there duties as a staff member of twenty four hour requirements. I find it very disturbing that this staff is constantly being blamed for things that corporate is not doing they should not have to endure the insults, ridiculing, blame that is cause by corporate, they treat this facility like garbage, they keep changing the the manager over and over when you do this it hurts the membership along with employee relations and there working environment, the environment at this facility use to be uplifting now it is with if, or better yet whats next. Corporate needs to ask the membership there opinion, along with providing new equipment this facility as the oldest and equipment I have ever seen in any fitness center, and the staff gets the feed back not corporate. Sincerely; Retried Sgt Maj U.S Army Derrick F. Gilbert

As a former trainer I suggest you take my advice before joining this gym it might look all fancy because of the location but its not the equipment is very old I used up to date equipment in my own gym I come here for the free weights so I have no problem except afternoon its extremely packed as for women the stair machine are weak you cannot extend a full range of motion if your above 55 Ive used the ones in la fitness and those are great as for squat machines thats only 2 and as for using weights most likely you still have to be with a bunch of guys working out so thats just a heads up. This place just needs and upgrade and rearranging the machines cuz 70% of the machines are old the padding is getting bad so if your into free weights your good if your a machine user not so good.

Nasty. That should have been enough of a review, but I will continue. Almost every cardio machine is old, rusted, broken, not functioning correctly, or just straight up broken. Same goes for every weight machine. Be very careful when using any of the bigger apparatuses as they are outdated, and are not optimized for modern heavy lifting. Always use hand sanitizer after every machine, because this place looks so dirty, I wouldnt trust putting my hands near my face without it. As for the spin room, pretty much every spin bike is old and rusted as well. Not comfortable at all. If youre looking to change into your gym clothes and shower after your workout, Id suggest you do as much as you can at home. Did I say nasty already? Keep it classy 24HF.
