I am a returning customer of Pollo Loco since the 1980s, so obviously I like the grilled chicken dishes. Today the restaurant eating area was very cold inside. Several of the ladies, including my wife were complaining of the cold interior. So one of the husbands and I, went up to the counter to complain. The tall manager ( about 64" ) heard us talking to a crew member and said he would take care of it...and within minutes, the temperature dropped down to what is normal for us senior citizens. I later got a chance to talk to the manager, at the soda dispenser. He shared that he was going to Utah to open a Pollo Loco location there...he was very personable. Now, as to the food. I ordered the Avocado Quesadilla. The website shows it split in two, on a plate, the coupon I was using to order it, showed it served open in two places on the plate. The way it is served is completely enclosed. So it is not served per the photos. But, how did it taste ? ok...not my favorite..but ok. Be careful of the whitish sauce toward the ending bites of the Avocado Quesadilla, it will leak onto the food tray and onto the table and almost onto my shirt. My wife warned me it was dripping. My wife had that the regular two piece grilled chicken meal with beans and rice sides with tortilla. I tasted her meal. I liked it better than the Avocado Quesadilla...but that is my personal preference..she took a bite from my Avocado Quesadilla and said she like it. So there you have it. We will continue to return for another meal, and try their other entries, when we get more coupons. I would give it 3.5 stars. But, had to go to 3 stars, due to the rating structure.

This is the first online review I have EVER written. I will go to every site I can think of to advise consumers to avoid this location. The wait is always unreasonable and my visit last night was no different. Four cars in the drive thru; took 10 minutes to get to the point where my order was taken and another 10 minutes to get my food. Upon arriving home, the "large side of rice" that I ordered was only half full and it was dried out and contained burnt pieces (clearly scraped the bottom of the warming tray). I could see in the window while I waited that they were waiting on rice, but rather than tell me it would take some time or offer me something else, they sent me home with a half order of old rice. My husband and I didnt want anything to do with it, but my 9 year old insisted on having rice. Eight hours later, the food poisoning set in. He vomited for over 4 hours. This could have been avoided if the employees at El Pollo Loco had ANY amount of concern for food safety and their customers. This is a franchised location and it should be taken back by the Corporation as this owner has no business serving the public food.

Worst El Pollo Loco ever! You will ALWAYS wait at least 30 minutes. The chicken is always dry. I have been told multiple times that they are out of chicken or I will have to wait 20 more minutes if I want chicken. All they do is chicken! How do they not have chicken ready at dinner time during the week!?!I gave them sooo many chances and it was always the same miserable experience. Now I just drive farther to the one by Long Beach Town Center and I still make it home sooner, and the chicken is fresh and delicious!

Pollo Loco food was still good, and the service was nice, but the dining area was a mess and no one was in any rush to clean up. This includes a messy salsa bar and drink station. An employee got a drink of water and took a break without at least picking the trash from up the drink station. If I didnt like Pollo Loco food so much, I might give it two stars for lack of cleanliness.

Management need to train their Drive Thru personnel properly. Every time I go thru DT they hang onto my card for a very long time. It bugs me to have my card out of my site. You should visibly and quickly swipe it and return it to me. This needs to change or Im not going there anymore. Also calling Corporate Office to let them know.
