First of all, lets start with the Manager on Duty, if this is the example of leadership that Pep Boys offers than I can very well say they are on their way to ruin. Talk about not having any people skills, when my husband went to ask him a question all he did was grunt. Is this what Pep Boys has settled for? A GRUNT. I was quite puzzled by this, then when the question about a tire became more specific, he just gave my husband a half-assed answer. Half-assed answer and a grunt, this is really going well. Now, despite this sort of service my husband still decided to purchase the tires from Pep Boys, based not on the customer service, but the price. Now, Pep Boys is running a "along with" sale that also includes an oil change. Now, this was great! My husband just changed the oil in our car and honestly it made no sense to change it again. So, my husband asked if he could get it a later time. Managers answer: "No, you have to get it now!" No, trying to accomodate anything. The customer is at our mercy and we give no lee way. WTH! So, we lose out on an oil change, we get poor service and attitude. Yeah, this is a quality establishment. NOT! After the tires were installed almost 450 dollars later he went to the cashier, who didnt greet him, nor did anything else come out of her mouth either. $450 later and you would think a greeting or something else would roll off her toungue other than another grunt. But apparently this seems to be the general language at this store. This is an insult to customers who come and spend a significant amount of money and get nothing but attitude and flack. This is not good customer service and I know for a fact you dont run a business with employees, like the Manager and Cashier. Manny, Moe and Joe really need a dose of reality and find out what is really going on with their operation. Its disappointing and sad. There are so many other places I could have gone to get my tires, but the next time I need something for my car I will definitely be taking my business somewhere else. I will never set my foot back into that Pep Boys ever again. Not, only will I never go there, I am sending this review to everyone on my FB page and e-mail address list. Pep Boys should remember the rule of bad service. When 1 customer receives bad customer service, they tell everyone they know. I just want to add one last item as an after thought, sadly! Their mechanic, who installed the tires, happened to be the only decent human being in the building, he even went as far as to rearrange everything in the trunk in its proper order. Thank God for him or Pep Boys would be out of business!

What can I say? Whenever I go into a garage or service place.. I play dumb.. act like I dont know what a car is.. this way I know when theyre being honest. I went in for a simple voltage regulator, I told them that was what I wanted, and what I needed.. They insisted it be put onto their "Diagnostic check.. a 20 dollar charge that I didnt want.. but they told me it was standard practice. (They lied) 4 hours later I called them (they were supposed to call me) and they gave me a long list of things needed for my car.. many of which I didnt need, or had recently done, but not a word about my voltage regulator. I told them to just install the regulator, and I would be by to pick it up. They charged me $71.80 for the Reg, diagnostic, and install, and as I went to pay, the service manager was surrounded by cashiers looking for their hours, day staff wanting to go home, and a brinks money pick up.. He rang it up as $71.80, and I gave him a hundred dollar bill, and in the confusion, he gave me back $71.80 in change.. Had it been anyone else but the manager, I would have returned the money, as I wouldnt want it taken out of some cashiers pocket.. But this man tried to screw me out of hundreds in unneeded repairs, and I had no problem pocketing the money..especially when I had more than covered the $25 part.. Sometimes there is a parts God...

After 70,000+ miles I finally had to admit that I needed new tires. The price tag on replacing all fours is reason enough to want to put it off for some more time. But, after doing some research on-line and going to local tire shops going to PB was the best option. This is because I was able to cash in on some great offers, like buy three tires and get the fourth free (with installation) and a rebate from the manufacturer. So equipped with some knowledge after doing research on prices and quality of tires, I went over to my local PB and purchase a set (4) of tires. The final price was still a bit shocking and this might have been all over my face because the attendant was able to reduce the price of installation by a couple of bucks. But after the rebates for the quality of tire including installation; it was the cheapest price for tires on any comparable tire retailer including local shops. So, I came out with quite a bargain. Installation was no problem; the entire job got done on a Sunday in 30 minutes; I opted not to purchase alignment because I could get this done for free when I service my car. Moreover, I signed up for their rewards program on the spot and so the entire tire purchase price enabled me to receive a $20 reward towards a future purchase - which is great because I think I need new wiper blades.

I took my infiniti fx35 into pep boys for a brake inspection, knowing that i was going to drop $300-$400 weather or NOT i needed brakes bcuz as we all know, some mechanics are less than honest. I came to pick the car up and to my surprise I was asked again why I brought the car in for an inspection bcuz there was NOTHING wrong with the brake system! Needless to say I was overjoyed as I explained that I was hearing a squeak which seemed to be coming from my brakes, the mechanic explained some reason why this happens. To be quite honest when I first walked in I wasnt too impressed by the young lady attending the service desk, she was working at a snails pace and didnt care to even acknowlege my presence but when she stepped away the manager (Jorge) walked over and asked if he could help, things went a lot better after that! I now FULLY trust THIS pep boys and definetly will be returning for all my auto needs!

Took my old car there. Its only needed an oil change. But. Whatever they did. My car was worse. I had to go to an actual Toyota dealer in North Hollywood. And when they checked my car they asked me some.questions. And essentially. Pep boys is shady!! So sad. They supposedly even have some contracts with the city and I wonder if they are ripping off the city too! I went in to speak with the supervisor about my car issues and what the mechanic at Toyota said. He was basically like if I dont like it I can bring it back but since I took it to someone else he cant say it was or was not something pep boys did. Ive owned a car since college. I was cheated once when I was much younger. And I wont go back here ever again!
