As you can see I do not review often on Google. I only review when a business provides me with an exceptional experience that I take the time to review them. Unfortunately this time I am writing a review for on ongoing exceptionally negative experience. A little background on how and why we are using a service such as House to Home. We are being relocated 700 miles for my wifes career. Do to this distance and the relocation by the company my wife works for we were moved by Alexanders Moving Service to the Roseville area. Unfortunately our home will not be available for one month after our move out of our previous home requiring us to store our home until our new home is available. Alexander’s provided us with exceptional service, polite, hard working, professionals, who care for our valuables. We received a quote from them to store our belongings in Roseville and finish the move when our new home became available. There quote was $4500 for one month of storage, which we thought was outrageous as that is more than our mortgage. This is where the story starts to take a turn for the worse. We call around and receive a quote from house to home for moving and storage for $1800 all in. Granted a remote quote without stepping foot in our home is difficult as they are unsure of what we own and how much space our stuff takes up. According to them we would need approximately 14 of their storage units to store a 4 bed home and garage. They were almost spot on. We used 13 units total! Awesome we save one hundred dollars! Wrong. After all of our belongings are safely locked away in their facility and we no longer have access to it, we are ushered into the office to finish the paperwork. At this point they seem to have forgotten the quote they gave us. Just for move into their warehouse we are over the $1800 quote they gave us for move in, storage, and move out. From there it gets even worse. We are now quoted over $2000 for the move out. All in are now on the hook for the same fee Alexander’s quoted. We would have just stayed with them! Less change of hands and a truly professional experience. At this point we are a captive audience we have very little recourse as our belonging are already locked in their warehouse. A few hours later after reviewing our notes about the quote and with whom we spoke I call Jacob the owner and speak with him about the 100% discrepancy in our quote vs. actual costs. I explain to him how this feels dishonest and that it makes it very difficult to budget for a move when the “Professionals” cannot accurately quote for their profession. He tells me that he does not know what was quoted and that he will have to look at their notes about the conversation. I explain to him that his staff knew what the were quoting, a complete move in, storage, and move out to our new home. We relied on the “professionals” who we rely on to be competent in their chosen profession to provide an accurate quote. To top it off they were accurate on the space needed to store 14 units and therefore should know what the real costs would be. Jacob the owner told me that he would discuss with his staff and personally call me back on Monday, this was a Saturday. He asked for my phone number and promised I would hear back from him. He agreed that this is unreasonable and that he wants us to be happy. He never called me back! In fact no one called us back for a week. When we did receive a call back it was from Justin, the staff member who initially gave us the bogus quote. Justin, went on to tell us that because he did not take notes or provide us with a quote in an email there will be nothing he can do. If I were you I would avoid this place. Or if you have no other choice make them sign the contract before you move into their warehouse. Read all the reviews almost 10% of them are 3 star or less.

I have used House to Home Moving for 2 moves, the first being a local move the second a 2700 mile move. My first experience was amazing! I even took the time to call and speak to someone at the office to tell them what amazing service I had received. I have referred several people. That leads me to the second move. They actually didnt move my belongings, just loaded them in a truck. And thats where the rub is, literally. The only instructions I gave them was " the antique secretary is the most important piece of furniture. Its the only thing I have that was my Grandmothers. Please be extra careful with it!!" Boxes went into the truck first, then the secretary. Plenty of moving blankets (40+) We get to our destination 5 days later. Movers on this end start unloading the truck. "Uh maam I need to show you something before we continue" The secretary hadnt been wrapped in a moving blanket!! Another piece of furniture had rubbed against the front of it for 2,700 miles, the wood on the front is shredded. I am sick! The other pieces of furniture that werent wrapped and damaged are much less important. Although my daughter isnt happy that her bedroom side table and desk look like something we salvaged from the side of the road. After sending in photos and several phone calls nothing! Not a word. Very disappointed! Im rating 3 stars because of the success of the first move.

House to Home Moving, A huge Thank you to House to Home Movers Shadi, Deanta, and Kevin. My family and I recently relocated out of state. Shadi, Deante, and Kevin were not only kind, courteous, and professional, they were amazingly efficient and worked at such a pace I couldnt finishing packing up fast enough! Shadis skills only complimented the hard work that was needed in order to make the relocating process as easy on our family as possible. Deante and Kevin meticulously moved our belongings, loaded the truck, and were outstanding in aiding and hauling our things from the two story home we left behind. With their attention to detail I was free to focus more on the out of state set up of our new home. These three House to Homes movers were reliable, prompt, genuine, highly professional, and very sweet. Thank you gentlemen for making my families out of state move an incredible experience! House to Home provided wonderful service for my Grandmother 4 years ago, so I knew they were the place to call when I needed them for my own move. Great "long distance" service. Cody and Angel were right on time to my residence in the Bay Area and were quick to get the truck loaded with my belongings. They then made great time getting everything to my new residence in Elk Grove. They even were flexible about taking half of my items to a nearby storage facility for me, then taking the rest to my new home. Everything was well cared for and Cody and Angel were courteous and accommodating every step of the way. After how they handled my Grandmothers move, and now mine, House to Home will be my "go-to" movers from now on. Thanks, guys!
