Had my A8 towed to this Pep Boys since it was the closest shop from where my car broke down. Hit a hole and the lower driver side control arm separated from the bottom of the outer hub link. Luckily it was a very low speed hit, otherwise the damage could have been catastrophic. Vibration had apparently caused the nut to work its way loose and that hole was just the jolt it needed to pop that one end of the arm off. Got to Pep Boys and Adam behind the desk, was very upfront and honest. Walked out to the shop and looked at the linkage and they were able to put the lower control arm back on (guide link for you audi fans) and charged me only for a Suspension and Steering Inspection ($20.) No joke. 90 day warranty on the inspection too - so I can go back ad have them recheck and tighten again to make sure it was properly torqued, etc. Sure the inspection recommended replacing the bushings on the rest of the control arms, the car has 200,000 miles on it, and clearly parts are wearing out. They double checked everything, and even suggested I could source my own parts for future work. I might just take them up on that. I have worked on my own Audis for years when I lived in Ohio, and now living in an apartment, have neither the tools nor the space - so I know my cars. I have my own VAG-COM and Bentley Manual, and do most of my own diagnostics. They didnt try to pressure sell me, and exemplified plenty of patience listening to my diagnosis of what I thought had happened and might be wrong. None of the other control arms were bent, and the axel was fine as well. Great opportunity for a less scrupulous mechanic or shop to try to make some cash, but I found I received honest knowledgable service.

Worst experience ever with huge disappointment I went to a pepboys pasadena branch to get engine oil changed. I found out they lifted the car up wrong I usally check the procedure from the begining to the end, but I was on a phone call and could not see they lifting the car. And I found out they jacked the car up wrong... The jack up bar was touching the side skirts and they were bent because of the pressure. I complained to one of the guy and he said he will call the manager to talk about it. But the thing that shocked me the most was what he told me about it. He said it is normal to be like that, which was obviously not, and also pointed the lifted car next to it and said all the cars are lifted that way. He just said that side parts are made of plastic and supposed to bend and should come back to its original shape within an hour, or a day. He is partially right that the side skirts are made of elastic plastic and can endure certain amount of pressure... but the way they jacking up the care is still so wrong! And most importantly, and most annoyingly, it did damage on the paint of the parts and made a dent on one side. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE GUYS WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO LIFT CARS RIGHT !!!

Got exactly what I came in for: an oil change, they didnt try to sell me any extra services. The guy even helped me out by telling me there was a coupon in the paper at the front of the store for a free tire rotation... saved me 10 bucks. They said they checked my fluids, brakes and tire pressure on top of that. Right now there is a mail in rebate offer for 13 bucks on any oil change: that makes this the cheapest oil change Ive gotten in a long time (36-13=$23). Pep Boys corporate is onto a good thing here, because it looks like theyre starting to reward their employees based on customer satisfaction (they give you a number to call and evaluate the person that served you at the end) and the guys over there are bending over backwards to make a good impression.

Scheduled an appointment for 10 am on a Tuesday for new front brake pads, and possibly new front rotors (depending upon inspection). Inspection fee of $15 is waived if you are a Pep Rewards member! After inspection on all four rotors/brakes we agreed on new front brake pads and new front rotors. Rear required no changes, which I knew, and I was happy they werent trying to make an extra buck. Car is riding ultra smooth now! Entire process took 3 hours from inspection to driving off the lot. Thank you Pep Boys crew for the timely service and keeping me informed the entire process.

I went to Pep Boys a couple times within the last 5 months for tires, battery, coolant flush, brakes, rotors, windshield wipers needed to be replaced and headlight needed to be replaced. I received a 5 star treatment from the lady who helped me yesterday in the service department, she went over and beyond to help me with my car and to get me all the savings I could possibly get. Every one that works there is pretty nice and always easy to deal with. Im very impressed and very happy with all the services and the work. Thank You Pep Boys for always taking care of my car.

Not a very good service center. My car was towed there the night before to get 2 new tires so my car was at their location first thing in the morning. They called me at 9:30 and told me the car will be ready in 2 hours. I called after 2 hours they put me on hold for 15 minutes and I had to hang up and call back, and they said it will be ready in 1 hour. By my last phone call close to 4 hours had passed since the initial call and the guy tells me we haven’t even started and we’ll do it as soon as we can. I would not go back to this location.

I took my car there after the shift linkage failed, right on colorado blvd. The tow truck guy recommended them, and though the Ford dealership had to special order the part I needed which took 7 days, the guys at Pep Boys were courteous, friendly, and always listened patiently when I called them every day to get status updates. As soon as the part came in, the car was fixed on that day. They even cut me a slight break on the price for the time it took. All in all, the reviews below made me wary, but my car shifts as though it were new.

I placed an online 4 tire order on Saturday April 9th and scheduled service for the next day (Installation & alignment) since the thats when the tires are supposed to be there (according to the website). I went there the next day at the time of my appointment and the tires where still not there. I asked them if they could call me back whenever the tires arrived and a week later i still havent received a call back. I live half a block from this place and its sad to have such bad service. Had to take my business elsewhere...

I went in for a free brake inspection because my brakes would squeak like no tomorrow. They said I needed a wheel hub assembly. And with labor would cost me 280 or so. I kept looking around and had a family friend take a look at it and the only thing wrong was the last brake job was junk. The pads were put in the wrong side (not done at pep boys, it was purchased this way ) but regardless. The free brake inspection wasnt very helpful considering I drove for another thousand miles with my brake pads backwards.
