I havent worked out in over 7 years. When I finally decided to jump into working out recently, I realized that I should work out with a personal trainer so I dont injure myself and target the areas I wanted to work on. SuperSlow Zone is different than most "gyms". There isnt a bunch of people trying to work out at the same time. So far, I have not encountered more than one other person in there while Im working out. There also arent any mirrors in the room, so you dont need to worry about other people watching you work out. Also, the facility is really clean and does not smell! I use about 5-6 machines each session and have 2 different routines. They recommend coming in twice a week with 72 hours gap in between each session. My amazing trainer, Don, helps me keep track of my time, weight, and machine settings on his iPad, so I dont need to worry about any of that. I just need to focus on working out; reaching failure and hold for 10 more seconds or 3 minutes, whichever comes first. They will also email you the chart with the time and weight info so you can see your progress. Originally I was a little hesitant to do resistance training because I was scared that I would bulk up like the body builders. But actually, it just made me lose fat and tone up, which is what I wanted. I also reached my goal a couple weeks in, which I am super happy about. The results definitely keep me motivated. I have been coming here for 2 months now, and will continue to keep coming, even though I need to drive in 2 hours of traffic after work. Its totally worth it, and I highly recommend you to come work out here as well!

Ive always walked for exercise and I used to swim but I havent done that for a while because it took up too much time. I knew I needed strength training in addition to aerobics because in my late-60s, I was seeing some negative effects. For example one time I was comfortably soaking in a hotel bathtub and couldnt get out! I joined Super Slow Zone because I know myself. I knew I wouldnt stay committed to going to a traditional gym on my own. I knew that if I made the month-to-month financial investment I would show up. The social contract with my supportive SSZ personal trainer encourages me to prioritize going no matter what. And with the arrival of my first grandchild, I was motivated to get stronger and to stay that way. Now, a year later, I can get in and out of my low-slung sports car without needing a winch, I can lift things I couldnt before and I can get up off the floor or out of a bathtub without any help. And most importantly, I feel better.

Ive been doing this strength training program for 1 1/2 years and it is the ONLY strength training that has ever made a difference for me. I started doing this at the suggestion of my doctor who said the program was based on sound science and I would notice a difference. She was right. I have some cartilage loss in both knees and found it difficult to do things (hiking, tennis, skiing) that put stress on my knees. Sometimes even going up and down stairs was painful. Building the muscle strength around my knees has changed my whole lifestyle now. But the other perks have been better posture, more all around strength (I find I can lift things that my husband cant lift--really!), a more toned body. The 3 trainers in Pleasanton (Joanie, Don and April) are all so knowledgable and its clear they want you to get the most benefit from the program that is possible. I will do this for the rest of my life.

April at SuperSlow Zone is AWESOME! She makes working out fairly enjoyable. I had no idea how strength training with their personal trainers can make such a difference in how you feel and look. Ive never been one for working out, particularly weight lifting, but going to SSZ is quick and a commitment I know I can keep. The best part is that I am really seeing results! I have never been this confident in my body. While I havent lost a lot of weight - just 10 lbs (because I like to eat too much), the shape of my body has really improved (thing tighter stomach, arms, and butt). And my metabolism has definitely increased which I love. If youre looking for a personal trainer that will truly help you see results without burning you out, SuperSlow Zone is the place for you!

I have been going to SuperSlow Zone in Pleasanton for strength and personal training since the beginning of the year. The facility is well kept and the equipment is top of the line. It is located in the Koll plaza just off the 680 at Bernal and is a very convenient location for residents of the Tri Valley. I appreciate how efficient the strength training protocols are and enjoy the one on one with my personal trainer, Don. He tracks my progress closely and gently motivates and encourages me to reach my full potential. After many years and different forms of exercise I am convinced that, combined with proper nutrition, strength and fitness training are the most effective form of exercise there is.

Ive been going to SSZ for 1 year and love my twice weekly 20 minute sessions with a very personable and knowledgeable trainer. These workouts fit into my very busy schedule and have helped me build strength, toned my legs, arms and stomach. My clothes fit me better and Im not sore after this type of workout the way I have felt when working with other personal trainers at various gyms over the years. This is a different type of workout you will love and not dread. I highly recommend it.

I started going to SuperSlow Zone in January,2015 after reading that it helped prevent osteoporosis. I was diagnosed with osteopenia about 15 years ago and it had finally progressed into osteoporosis in 2013 This July, after 6 months of the strength training, I had my biennial bone density scan . I was thrilled to discover that my scores had shown improvement. I definitely recommend SuperSlow Zone for anyone who wants to improve or maintain their bone health!
