The manager initially came across as helpful. She offered a free moving truck and a quick paperwork process. However, she showed me the space being offered as a 10x/15 and it seemed small to me. I measured it and it was only about 8x14. When I asked her what the story was she said "our dimensions are approximate." I asked her to show me something else and found one that was about 9 1/2x14 1/2 which I decided was good enough. After finding a suitable unit we began a lengthy paperwork process. At the end she hands me a bill and it includes a hefty insurance cost. I told her I didnt need insurance because my homeowners policy would cover it. She said she couldnt remove the charge until I brought in a copy of my homeowners policy. Note she said "bring in." Email was not accepted because of "security concerns." I had to go home and get the insurance paperwork and come back. The "quick process" she promised to rent a unit had now turned into more than 2 hours. But at least I was now ready to borrow their truck and move my things. Or so I thought. After this huge investment of my time she now asks, "so what automobile insurance do you have?" My reply, "Geico". She then proceeds to tell me that I cant use their truck because I have Geico insurance. I ask, can I buy insurance from you so I can use the truck that you promised me and get my things moved. Her reply, "No because we dont sell insurance for the truck." At this point I was out of time and needed to go to a business meeting. I called back a few days later and told her to cancel my rental. I never took position or went back. She told me she would take care of it and yet never credited my credit card. So now a new battle ensues... The only reason Im giving it two starts is because its a nice facility.

Masters of Excellence! It is how my family and I describe this facility. Highly Recommendable. Seldom is found... now a days.., personnel that not only is professional but very much caring, what many of us need at times to store our priceless/no so "priceless" belongings. I am particularly referring to Mrs. Kathy and Mrs Megan, not excluding the rest of the staff. Having stored here for a while and down size a few times, their suggestions, assistance and patience equally commendable. The facility and access to spacious storage, always clean and nice, vey well kept storage spaces. The Owner/Management must be very proud!. Thank You for providing a pleasant experience and a plus to my peace of mind. Thank You!

I have had friends who have used Extra Space Storage in Redwood City for over 8 years now. Due to their good feedback I recently chose to store my own belongings at the facility. The experience has been fantastic thus far. Meghan, the store manager, has been very helpful with every interaction I have had. The facility is clean and offers a large variety of options for different needs. Moreover, the security seems excellent, which is something that originally concerned me when considering storing my belongings away from where I live. The prices are also competitive when I looked at other sub-par storage facilities. I cannot recommend Extra Space Storage highly enough.

I rented a property at end of Sep 09. I asked them if they prorate when I leave in the middle of the month. They said - Of course we do. When I moved out on 29 Dec and asked them for a refund, they said - we stopped prorating and that they had sent me a letter for that. LIARS. I did not get any such letter. My billing cycle was on the 27th of the month. So for 2 days I had to pay for the whole month. The customer service is rude and unfriendly. Id never rent at Extra space again. Bunch of cheaters. Giving one star as ZERO is not allowed

Extra Space Storage is a very convenient summer storage facility for students. It is half the price of other options such as dorm-to-dorm or on-campus storage. The free moving truck that can be reserved in advance really completes the good deal along with the first month of free storage. Students can share larger spaces for a better deal as well. I liked the fact that it is self serve. Ultimately I think that Extra Space Storage is very convenient, well-advertised, and reasonably priced. I am planning on renting a facility next summer too.

I am totally impressed from the fabulous customer service by the Storage Manager on Saturday afternoon around 1:30PM October 17, 2015. ( I forgot his name and left his biz card in my other purse. Anyway, I have run several businesses and deal with all kinds of people in my business. I must say that this manager was a complete "Diamond in the rough" . He was very professional and covered all the bases and questions before I asked him! I love my unit and got everything delivered on time to my unit. You guys get 5 stars!

Best storage location yet... When I went to ask for info the girl who helped me was super informative, and nice.. Didnt make me feel unwanted like other places Ive gone to. Meghan I think was her name. Really cool!! Now the property, I was really impressed with.. It was really clean!! Thats hard to find . The pricing on the small storage is pretty reasonable too. I would definitely recommend this location. Your guaranteed great customer service, a clean facility and good prices

Staff are great. Meghan has been wonderful at helping me whenever I visited the place. The place is clean, feeling secure and safe everytime I visited even after office hours. My storage needs will soon ends but I will always remember the staff who are great at helping me whenever I needed them. Meghan is such a wonderful person, I felt like she is a good friend who really cares about others. This is a great place to store our precious belongings in which we cannot get rid off.

Be careful what the manager (Ray) tells you and what they do when you move out. If you move out early, they will not pro-rate your payment as promised by the manager. I was urged to be on an auto-payment plan and told that I could move out whenever I wanted and my payment would be pro-rated. I moved out the last day of my due date but was charged an extra month without refund. Totally BS!!

I Have had great experience with the Extra Space Storage for quite a few years, and they have been great people to deal with like Kathy and Megan are nice and friendly and helpful. The Storage place is always clean, has good accommodate hour of service and a large variety of different size unit to accommodate the storage you need. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family.
