I give the business 5 stars rating for the following reasons: 1- Honesty: When I brought my Toyota Pick Up for maintenance service, I was given a written estimate for the work that needed to be done. I was surprised to see that the final total on the invoice was less than the original estimate. I also received a 10% discount for being a member of the AAA automobile club. 2- Integrity and Professional Work: The owner of the business Mr. Summers went beyond his way to make sure that my car received the proper diagnose in order to have the job done professionally, and completed on time. The invoice reflected thoroughly all the work done, itemized very professionally, and I was given a brief explanation of what was done on the vehicle, and the results of all tests that they have done. I was very pleased with the service that I received that, the next day, I brought my Toyota Corolla for a regular maintenance. These days it is hard to find an honest mechanic shop; I have found one, it is “California Smog Institute”. Thank you for reading my review.

My car recently broke down, power steering pump and all and was towed here. From the moment I walked in, everyone was very nice and professional. Jonathan was very nice and helpful and kept me up to date on the status of my car and worked with me on the cost of the repairs, unfortunately, the initial inspection didnt tell us everything that was wrong (power steering hose had a leak) which wasnt detected in the beginning since the whole pulley broke. They were all very professional and kept all the parts to show me exactly what was wrong and also sent me all the information as well as recommendations of things to be aware of and the level of priority to fix them when I can. I would recommend them and will return if anything else happens with my car!

THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! Every one is professional and super friendly. Me, my husband, and 10 month old son broke down and we didnt know where we were or any body in town. They made us feel comfortable and at home, checked in on us and made sure my son was ok. They have the best waiting area ive ever been in at a mechanics. I cant say enough good things about them and will definitely refer friends if they are in the area. on top of everything they are reasonably priced and tell you everything they will be working on. Amazing service!

The Smog Institute is always courteous and polite when I call, and they are usually able to fit me in right away. The front desk is always polite and well informed, and is always honest (hard to find in the automotive industry). They do offer itemized bills, and their diagnostic fee ($85) goes towards the cost of repairs (parts and labor). Ive tried several mechanics in the area, and the Smog Institute is now my number one choice. I will be a customer here for years to come.

Had coupon for oil change and various checks such as battery brakes air pressure etc. Coupon was AAA road ready Del for 50 dollars because my car used synthetic oil the price beva.e more than 100 dollars!!?? No thank you. If you just fell off a turnip truck might be a good place but anyone with a brain will avoid.

They will not allow students to return after 90 days. They will charge over $3,000 dollars for the first time you try to take their course and additional $1,000 dollars if you would want to come back. The school wants you to fail all test so you have to retake them. This school is a rip off.

Very bad. They found one problem then charged for it then before they repaired it, they found another problem and charged again, then they found a third problem and wanted to charge for it. I said stop, no more money for this bottomless hole.
