Ever since this franchise location was purchased by new owners a couple years ago it has gotten pricier and the red tape and tedium of the owners was a turn off to me. They immediately started sending letters detailing all the things you as the customer should do before the maids come such as pick up the house and leave few knick knacks for them to deal with. I never received such communications from the previous owners and liked it like that. It wasnt long before they sent out a letter announcing their price increases. I stopped using them last spring and recently decided to try them again. I had them come in and do a thorough cleaning but ommitted a couple of rooms. They did a nice job but when quoted a price for contiued weekly and bi-weekly the prices had jumped almost 50% from the old prices and I had removed two whole rooms from the equation. Overall they do very good work, if something isnt done to your liking they will come back at no charge. But like I said, they are very expensive and I find them somewhat inflexible and stubborn. In an economy where there are so many people out of work I would expect them to try and compete better by lowering their prices. I plan to try some different alternatives in the area. If you want a good cleaning service, dont mind their "all business" approach and can afford them, go for it.

Recently, I used this service on very short notice. I have to say they were great in that they were able to come out right away. However, they were very pricey. They were nearly double the cost of other agencies that I was able to find but I went ahead with them anyway because I felt bad to cancel. The cleaning itself was done fine and they did it in less than an hour. However, in addition to the inflated cost, I was disappointed that no one ever followed up with me from the office. I booked over the phone, paid over the phone and left a key for them. They never called to see if I was satisfied or if I would like to book again. If their prices were competitive with other agencies, I probably would have booked again.

A slab leak forced us to replace our hardwood floors, and the contractors dust containment was very poor. I found The Maids while looking for house cleaning services in San Diego and was impressed with Caleb, the owner. He sent a crew the same day, and they did a fantastic job -- very thorough.

I definitely give you 5 stars. Ive been using The Maids for years now and have recommended them to many people. They are efficient, thorough, and dependable. Even better than that, they are all very nice and pleasant to have around when I am home. Even my dogs love them.
