Wow! My name is Lenny Fitz and I just had the most wonderful experience at my local ESS on Thornton Way. Walking in I was promptly approached by a young woman named Chelsea. She was warm and bubbly, so full of life. She had a big smile on her face that just took the room by storm. Not only was she very sweet she also knew what the heck she was doing! She quickly found an appropriate sized storage unit that could fit my very large collection of scale model cars in. The price was reasonable and the whole facility was spic and spam. I was surprised by the cleanliness of my unit and the warmth and charm of all the staff working. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a storage unit, and I would refer them straight to Chelsea. Perfect!

my time at extra space storage in santacruz,it was the worst storage I have ever rented,they jacked up the rent right away they were rude,did not want to make any agreements whatsoever, I paid exra late fees in the sum of hundreds of dollars for over 2 years and in the end I was alittle short of 500 dollars and they would not work with me at all on trying to work a payment plan when I ran out of work and was struggling,they did not care,and they sold my life long belongings,and my autistic sons,tapes and pictures that I will never be able to recover,they made it imposable to get my priceless video tapes of my child back which is a crime in itsself! They will not work with you in any way shape or form!

Coming into San Jose, I had no idea which storage unit to choose for my needs, but let me tell you, am I glad that I chose Extra Space Storage on 895 Thornton Way! The customer service was remarkable. I was quickly attended and given the upmost care by the staff, especially Tracy. They accommodated my needs and offered reasonable prices for the storage unit I needed. Tracy showed great interest in answering all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable about the storage size I was getting. Overall, the experience was delightful, and I felt very welcome by Tracy and the staff. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have their storage needs met and facilitated by the staff!

I went to Extra Space Storage today in a pinch, needing to secure a storage unit before tomorrow morning. The office closed at 6pm and even though I showed up at 5:55pm, Josephine kindly helped me find one of appropriate size for my items and complete the lease within 15 minutes - even though it meant that she needed to stay past 6pm. She was incredibly helpful and Im very grateful to the office staff for helping me out! One thing to note is this place can be tricky to find with Google Maps because it isnt a recognized location. I suggest mapping to Oakmont of San Jose; its an apartment complex right next to the storage unit.

The process was very easy. I booked the space using the online reservation form. I showed up looked at the space signed a couple of papers and was able to move the following day. The only hiccup was the use of the truck. The truck is shared by several locations so the day i was hoping for was already booked. However they verified that the person that had reserved the truck for a different facility was going to use it and it turned out that they were not. All worked out i was able to move the day i needed to. The only thing that is a bit of a hassle is having to use the keypad to exit the facility.

it tooks hours at the counter to do the paperworks. The unit was disapointing, way smaller than the "Approximate" size. and there is no way to get a refund for anything. Though I called them 4 times before coming, they never told me I will have to buy insurance and bring a lock, that of course they will sell you for an extra $15 that you cannot return. The location manager Mike is powerless to solve any problem. and the district manager Mr. Mike Sinclair is rude and will not listen to anything. They will take your money and not even try to understand the mistakes they do. Run AWAY

Due to an unplanned event we needed a storage facility in a short time to empty out a house with a lot of family possessions. We found Extra Space Storage on Thornton Ave. in San Jose which was close by and reasonably priced. That was in May of 2008. After 8 1/2 years we have finally dispersed all of the belongings and were able to terminate the use of the locker. Extra Space Storage was there when we needed them and gave us nothing but excellent service for all of this time. If the need arises, I will not hesitate to go back and use them again. I am thrilled to recommend Extra Space Storage on Thornton Avenue in San Jose. My company and crew frequent the unit as we use it to store business material and often meet there prior to heading out to a job. The team at this facility always goes above and beyond. I give a big thumbs up to Alyssa and Cheryl who always have a welcoming smile on their face and brighten our works days every time we see them. They have not only become our favorite storage facility but are really extended members of our team. We couldnt do it without you! Thank you all and keep up the good work!

I had a sudden need for storage space over the weekend and I was at my wits end as I am a storage space virgin. Thankfully, I called the right place and the right person. Patricia has excellent listening skills. I did not have to repeat myself and that was very comforting. She was very patient. She was also detail-oriented and asked the right questions to come up with the best possible solution for the customer. She was able to change my mood from panic-stricken to calm and confident in four minutes. Now thats an expert.

Patricia Zafires was so courteous and kind when I came in to rescue my storage. She was very professional and yet very compassionate and considerate of the situation that I was in. She even was able to finally convince me that my space was in the "C" building, no matter how many times I told her it was in the "B" building. :) The customer service has always been excellent here and the manager Tracy is the cream of the crop. I will continue to store my things here as long as I am in the valley. Thank you.

Ive twice rented from this facility and would recommend it to anyone in the San Jose area. The staff are friendly and interested in you and your business. They have a moving truck available to use for free, multiple dollys and flat bed carts and convenient late night access hours (unlike some other places Ive rented from in the past). It may be more expensive for the same size unit at another facility but youre paying for the top notch security and extended hours. Worth it for my needs.

I rented a unit with my roommate. We were so stressed out about moving and not ever having stored. The ladies in the office were so helpful. The move in sign up was quick and easy! Its all electronic so its super modern. The property is secure and Fallon even called a few days later to make sure my roomie and I didnt have any questions. Definitely surprised by the customer service we received. We thought it would be an old grumpy couple in the storage industry! Thanks extra space!!
