For a summary, you can skip down to my bottom line paragraph. This was my first time at any pep boys location and unfortunately it will be my last. I ordered four tires with installation with the online service. I scheduled the appointment at this location for a Saturday and arrived promptly at my appointment time. They found me in the system right away and asked me to have a seat, saying it would take about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. One hour and fifteen minutes later the staff member who was helping me came out to tell me they only had two of the tires. He apologized for his mistake saying that he should have checked beforehand. He asked me what we wanted to do. I looked at my wife and said, "We have no choice we already paid online." I then turned to the employee and told him I guess well just take the two tires today and come back on Monday since we dont really have a choice. After another half hour the two back tires were completed. Then, once they were finished I was told that the online "payment" that I made was only a hold. (I wish he would have told me this when I said we didnt have any other choice.) Had I known at that time I would have walked away. The employee apologized for the mistake and said there were two tires at an Los Angeles location and that he would call me the next day to tell me if he was able to get them, or if I would have to wait until Monday. He didnt call me back. I called Monday and he again told me that he found two of them in Lake Forest and that he would call the store and then call me back. Again he failed to call me back. I called the store and another associate, Gilbert was able to help me and he called me back later that night letting me know that the tires arrived. I went in Tuesday where they promptly put the two front tires on. It only took about 45 minutes. Bottom Line: I am very disappointed that they failed to check to see if my tires were in stock until after I had been waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes. I am also disappointed that they failed to tell me that the online payment was merely a hold while I was discussing our options with my wife. I am also disappointed that twice the associate who first helped me failed to call me back when he said he would. But what is most disappointing of all is that I was offered no discount, partial refund, or even a voucher due to their mistake. I realize from the other reviews that my experience does not seem to be the norm for this shop. However, my experience was bad and I had to take extra time out of my week with no compensation. As a result, I will never shop at Pep Boys again.

Steer way clear of this shop!!! After leaving my car there for 12 hours(7:30AM); after making an appointment the prior day, I came to pick up my car after work and was told they were JUST getting to it! (it was now 4:30PM)! While I was talking to Cleo, the manager there, I heard someone beating on a car with a hammer. I told Cleo that better not be my car. Then I poked my head around,...sure enough, IT WAS! The mechanic decided the fastest way to install my new shocks was to break the old ones off,...instead of just unbolting them! I told them to put the tire back on and I am taking my car. The car was pulled around and I got in to leave. Then I noticed the open box in the back. It had a broken front shock. THEY WERE SENDING ME HOME WITHOUT A FRONT SHOCK I NEEDED TO CONTROL THE CAR! After chasing down the mechanic, who was half way out the door leaving, he said, "Oh, yeah, I meant to tell you, dont drive on the freeway and go real slow!!!!!! WTF!!! Morons, Morons, Morons!

In January this year I received a tire service installation from the Santa Ana, CA location. I purchased $888.80 worth of tires, with additional costs of handling, installation, and mounting and balancing totaling $1077.35 for 4 wheels. Yesterday I took my vehicle to the shop, SouthCoast Toyota, and they informed me that pep boys did not in fact balance or align my wheels. Instead, my steering wheel sat cocked to the left while my wheels pulled to the right. Along with this, my steering wheel would shake wildly after exceeding 60mph. I took the vehicle to Southcoast thinking it was some other issue to just find out that your shop failed to perform their duty and proceeded to charge me for the labor anyways. Thank you Darwin Garcia and James Juhasz. I would like to be contacted and refunded the costs for balancing (16.99 x 4) and aligning (89.99), since this was not performed.

There is nothing more annoying than seeing an employee who just stands around doing nothing but playing on his cell phone. he doesnt help the customers, doesnt even acknowledge them, he just stands around. At least try to look busy. say hello to the customers and tell them that someone will be with them shorty. Only the guy in the blue shirt does anything. never been a pep boys fan but they bought out the discount tire location and they are right across from where I work so when I get a nail in my tire I go there otherwise I wouldnt go near the place. I didnt notice any name tags. he is the guy wearing a beige shirt

I got conventional oil change here and ive been coming here for the last year or so. service is relatively fast with an appointment. im able to go during my lunch break and be back to the office within an hour. staff is very friendly and pretty attentive. i use the coupon everytime. theyve updated their appointment scheduling system and works well. i hope they take appointments first after anyone.

Although website advertise for free check engine code check, this location do not have equipment for more than a month.. I dont know how they are operating their so called car repair service. Management: we spend time from our work schedule to come to your store, please show some coutesy to inform us if you dont have basic tool of car diagnosics.

Give Pedro a RAISE! If he is not the shop manager, he should be. Second to none customer service, unheard of these days. Literally spending his lunch hour trying to diagnose an intermittent problem for one of my kids stuck on the side of the road in another state. Final repairs amazing, cost way below standard. Highly recommend.

DONT TRUST THEIR "APPOINTMENTS"!! Made an appointment during my lunch hour for an oil change. Got there on time and was told that if there are already cars on the lifts (there were), that I would have to wait for them to be done, which they estimated to be an hour. So in other words, they dont honor their "appointments".
