I like the work Precision does on my BMW. Ive literally spent thousands of dollars here to have maintenance done on my cars over the years, but it seems that the shop is not interested in doing routine work anymore. I had a problem with a "Check Engine" light with an intermittent loss of power. I made an appointment for 8:00 Friday morning to have this checked and get an oil change. I got a call at 3:11 stating that there was a problem communicating with my cars ECU. Jeff recommended, and I agreed to troubleshoot the problem. I called back at 5:07 to check on the status of the car. Jeff said they found a bad wire connection and fixed it but the ECU returned too many codes to be useful with my problem. Alright, I understand, its an older car. What about the oil change? Not done. I made the next available appointment for an oil change and A/C recharge the next Wednesday at 8:00. I dropped the car off at 8:00 and received a call at 11:27 to verify the work I wanted done. I refused the Cabin Air Filter replacement and asked him to proceed with the work requested. Never heard back from Jeff before closing on Wednesday. I needed the car Thursday and so I went there at opening (8:00) to pick up my car and pay. Nothing had been done. The car sat there ALL DAY even though I had an appointment for simple, routine maintenance. Okay, maybe there was an emergency in the shop; I called Jeff a few hours later and left a message for him to call me back and explain. He never returned my call. So, for these two visits, I spent $320 and all that was done was clearing the faults in my ECU and finding the loose wire in a connector. And I lost the use of the car for two days. If you have a routine problem, you may be better off going elsewhere, Im not sure youll get the work done here in a timely fashion - even with an appointment.

I first learned of Precision Motorworks through APR as one of my local dealers. I did a lot of research on VW forums regarding the kinds of tasteful mods I was interested in. I waited for APR to have one of their frequent sales and I pulled the trigger on a Stage 1 upgrade for my MK6 Jetta TDI. Throughout the process of deciding what other work I wanted for my Jetta, I found Chris and Jeff to be extremely patient and helpful. Theyre advice was spot on. They were able to give me sound recommendations based on my driving style. They were more than happy to do any of the work I was interested in but did talk me out of a few mods that wouldn’t improve the drivability of my Jetta all that much. I really appreciated their honesty. Originally I had the Eibach springs installed and Jeff advised me to try them out before I invested any more money into the suspension. After a lot of research and much help from Chris, I decided to install the Bilstein B8 shocks completing the B12 Pro-Kit. This along with the Traction Control switch they installed has completely changed how my Jetta is able to power through corners! To date Precision Motorworks has done an APR ECU Upgrade, K&N Filter, Short Shifter, Traction Control Switch, Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit (springs and shocks installed separately) and most recently my 40K service. Overall, the car drives better than the day a bought it. My experience has been very different than one of the other reviews. I found Chris and Jeff to be knowledgeable and flexible with my needs. They provided me with tons of information that I vetted elsewhere so I could make an informed decision. I admit it’s inconvenient driving my car down from San Francisco and leaving for a day but I find it’s worth it!

Ever since I took my car to Precision Motorworks several years ago from a friends recommendation, Ive had incredible service. They literally saved me thousands of dollars. When the dealership told me that I needed thousands of dollars of repairs because of a malfunctioning computer, Precision Motorworks researched and found that the manufacturer was responsible for my faulty computer and that they should fix it for free. After returning to the dealership with the information provided to me by Precision Motorworks (for free), the dealership was forced to replace the computer for free as it was a warrantied product that was malfunctioning. That is just one of the many examples of the great service that went above and beyond expectations that I ave gotten from Precision Motorworks. Do you want honest mechanics?? Theyre at Precision Motorworks in Santa Clara!!

Mila.R - Chris and Jeff are my car doctors since 2007! Excellent Customer Service. I feel super comfortable when I drop my car for service. I can understand what they are talking about when they explain issues with the car. I have 12 year old VW New Beetle. They fixed a major issue with the fuel injectors in 2008. They were very reasonable with the charges. The car is in great condition. For minor issues that could wait to be fixed they give me honest good advice to wait and monitor it. They never suggested unnecessary repairs. The estimates generally are spot on. I am so happy to have found Precision Motorworks. Chris, Jeff and the entire staff are simply the best. Additional bonus points - Great website with newsletters, valuable coupons, and online appointment set up.

Chris and Jeff are great! They run a very efficient, quality conscious operation. Their work is absolutely top notch and their prices are very reasonable. One of the best things is that they dont overbook their shop. You never get that call at 3:30 in the afternoon saying that "they are waiting for parts" and your car wont be ready for another day. They take pains to make sure that they have everything needed before they schedule your appointment. Once start going to Chris and Jeff, auto maintenance becomes something you just dont have to think about, they notify you when things are due and keep track the condition of your vehicle so you dont end up sitting on the side of the road somewhere. You can pay more else where, but you wont get better service.

If you want your car fixed correctly and you dont want to be "taken" on repairs that you dont really need, dont waste your time and money going to the dealer or to other independent shops go to Precision Motorworks. I drive German vehicles and was continually frustrated trying to find a shop that was competent, honest and reasonably priced. Dealers are typically competent and usually honest but grossly overpriced and other independent shops that I tried were more reasonably priced, but were incompetent. Then I found Precision, they are every bit as competent as the best dealer, they are honest and their prices are reasonable. Chris and Jeff run a great shop. I will never take my vehicles anywhere else.

The team at precision are expert at determining issues up front, have the depth of experience and drive to solve your auto issues, and do so in a friendly, courteous manner that is rare in this industry. There have been times an estimate or fix did not take or had to be done again... I did not have to pay. They stand by their work and do what is right to sustain high customer support standards - again, a rarity in this business. Originally recommended to this business by a friend, I have referred many, many friends who remain loyal and satisfied customers to this day. Fun team to work with.
