Caught them in a lie! I arrived at 11am on Sunday 9/29/13 for a 90k service on my vehicle (called first to arrange it). At almost 5p they said my car was done. I was at the shop for MOST of the service and was skeptical as to what was done, as the shop was quite busy and I didnt see 6 hours of work done on my vehicle. I had known that my brakes were bad going into the service (as they have been for more than a year). When I asked, "how are my brakes" at the time of checkout, I was told, "they look good". At that point I told them I knew they hadnt checked them, a service included in their 90k “Maintenance Schedule”. After a lot of excuses from Precision Tunes staff, including an offer to give me $30 off when I wanted to get my brakes done, they submitted to refunding me $50 of the more than $500 I was charged. When I arrived home I checked their “Maintenance Schedule” to find that spark plugs were to be replaced as part of the service. I, however, was charged an additional $99.80 for them. To be fair, it does mention that “platinum” plugs are extra…however, at no point was I asked, or did I consent to getting “platinum” spark plugs. At this point, I don’t know exactly which services were and weren’t done. Needless to say, I’m pretty upset. I’m checking to see how/where I go about finding somebody/someplace that can verify ANY of the service that was supposed to be done. I’d like to give these guys some credit, as they were very busy and there were only 2 to 3 of them throughout the day. However, hard work is one thing and honesty is another. Until they get the “honesty” part down, I’d steer clear of Precision Tune Auto Care.

We brought our Caravan for Smog Test Only service. They gave us coupon price as I show them the coupon from my iPod. Service is fast and people are friendly. Our van failed engine light / evaporation so we had them do the diagnosis and repair the other day. They did it promptly and we got our Smog passed. They even offer me a free ride to work when I left my car in the shop. One week later, my wife again brought her Civic for Test Only Smog. They recognized us and gave a good discount as many charge extra for smog on older cars. Upon knowing that my wife was in a hurry to send our toddler son to school, the owner asked the mechanics to speed up the test to finish all the testings within 30 mins. Overall, they are fast, honest upfront and friendly. No sale gimmicks and things went well for us. Chia W (May 21, 2011)

I had my oil change / tire rotation done here. They quoted me a price over the phone and that is exactly what they charged me. They didnt try to sell me something else, which I appreciated. I also saw a family come in to inquire about changing their timing belt. I was very impressed because instead of talking the family into getting the timing belt changed that day, the service manager informed them that they didnt need it changed and that they could wait a bit more to get it changed. I think that honestly like that really counts, because there are many places that try to rip off the customer (especially in an economic time like this). I plan to return for my next service need.

I was in bay area week ago. I bought used car for my husband . The honda odyssy salvage title The seller go with me to DMV to transfer under my name the DMV ask me brake & lamp certificates also smog certificate . I search on line every shop I call they only expect aappointment and dont have enough time due to I am 150 mile away from my home I call precimsio tune auto care santa clara they told me walk in any time 8 to 5 Monday to Saturday . I Drove from DMV to this location guess what I was out with in half hours. They give me brake and lamp certificate and smog certificate price was good. The person on counter was very helpful I recommend this place

I have been using this shop for a while mostly for oil change, brakes etc. Recently had power steering pump replaced at very good price. No issues so far. Good Service. updated 7/28/17 Its been a while since I used precision tune Santa Clara. Need to get some repairs done recently-timing belt, water pump and others on my old lexus GS300. Tried few places but finally decided to have it done at precision tune. No hassle, got ride back to work. Car was done same day.

Very shady service. Unless you have an older car that doesnt require a certain type of oil dont use the coupon. BE SURE THAT THEY CHANGE THE FILTER!! I dont think they changed the filter on my car while doing the oil change. Not a good deal. You dont even get what you pay for. I would not be surprised if most of the good comments below are from their own employees with fake accounts.

I went there for smog check. I was told $45 for whole thing. sound good! then they told me they cant keep the engine runing at steady speed. I have to pay $40 extra to have the inject part cleaned. after cleaning the part with a piece of cloth, they can do the test - what a magic! dont listen to their price. there are always some extra comes after.

They asked me to leave my van there and my car increase 140 miles over weekend, and did not fix anything. There was crashed on my van on right side. I asked the paper for leaving my car there, and he did not give to me. Finally, he told me that he doesnt want to repair for my car and do not go back. My bad luck!

I went to this location for a new starter and was quoted over the phone one price. When I arrived to pick up the car later the price had suddenly doubled. Very poor customer service, and bait-and switch tactics DO not bode well. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB regarding this location.

Been using these guys for a while. Always less expensive than his competitors. He is very accomodating, caring and easy to work with. doesntrecommend something if you dont need it. Would HIGHLY recommend these guys (this specific store).

Quick and Fast Dmv require Brake and Lamp certificate and Star Smog check for my salvage car I Found this location on Google search i was out less then hour with Brake & Lamp and star smog certificate and good price

Fixed radiator, oil change and electrical issue all in one afternoon for what seemed to be a pretty good price. Friendly and good service. I plan to come back for future servicing needs.
