Ive never had a problem with any of the other four Roto Rooter locations Ive dealt with but Im extremely unhappy with the Santa Clara location. We purchased our house 6 months ago and took it down to the studs for a complete remodel which included all new plumbing coming in at which point the return plumbing was deemed in good working order. 3 weeks ago our showers, toilets, and sinks backed up so we called Roto Rooter. They spent an hour and fifteen minutes snaking the main line, charged $262 and left saying we had a 120 day guarantee. 10 days later one of our toilets and sinks was still having draining issues. On the second visit we were charged again, this time $209 for less than an hour of work - they claimed the original guarantee didnt cover the 3rd toilet and sink due to being near the laundry room which falls under a different line. Today we had to have them come out again as the other original two toilets, two showers, and four sinks were still backing up. They performed the work under the first guarantee and re-snaked the main sewer line however this time they changed the diagnosis from "Sewer, good condition with 3" Clean-Out" which includes the 120 day guarantee to "Sewer, poor condition and badly offset or broken" which has no guarantee. The technician now highly recommends a $300 camera inspection of our "badly offset or broken pipes" that they previously deemed in "good condition" at which point Im sure theyll find another issue to further bill me. I own and operate a service based business and I would never ever treat customers like this. This has scam written all over it.

This was my 4th time in a row using Roto Rooter of Santa Clara for general plumbing problems. Each time they have fit me in early, arrived on time and performed stellar work. Their employees have all been personable and professional. They are also mindful of property and clean-up. David came to my house this last time. He installed a new garbage disposal. He even reconfigured my pipes that were not quite right for the original price. Beautiful job again.... David was a great guy and craftsman....

Called for repairing or replacing combo water heater. Lady on the phone specifically said they work on combo heaters. The technician who came by said otherwise. I appreciate his honesty in saying he is not sure how to fix it, but why was I given wrong info in the first place and made to waste my time? Meanwhile, my neighbors say that they called this exact same company last year, and they replaced their combo water heater. So, something is strange.

$150 to clear one shower drain may be about right but seems a little high. But it has taken them two tries (so far). If it doesnt work this time well probably have to pay again since it will be out of the warranty period of the original work. Ill probably try someone else if it comes to that. They also did not do a great job of cleaning up after they were done.

I had a serviceman clean the main drain at our home in January for $135. Same people came 7 months later to clean and the charge was $190.00 for 30 minutes. Called the Manager and he explained new management etc. so higher fees. I told him 41% increase is insane. He didnt care. This shop is a complete rip-off. DO NOT USE THEM...
