If you write a check from Union Bank it will be rejected. Saddleback uses electronic deposit with CrossCheck, Inc. CrossCheck only submits your bank account number without your name, address or phone when running your check. This raises a red flag to the bank because anyone could have stolen a blank check and deposited it this way. CrossCheck will charge you a service fee for this rejection. No ifs, ands or buts. Saddleback will not cover this as they feel it is not their fault. So, if you write a check, ask Saddleback to hand deposit your check to avoid this hassle and fee. Saddleback was otherwise a decent place to deal with. Nice people there.
