Moving from IL to CA was a nightmare because of this U-Haul location. We made the mistake of trying their new U-Box service instead of renting a traditional truck. The staff at the store in IL we rented the U-Boxes from was very helpful and courteous, and we paid the rental charge in full there. A week later when we went to Vallejo to unload the U-Boxes, we were told we owed an additional $1000. We could only pay half of it that day and were allowed to unload one U-Box. While there we noticed the forklift they use to move these U-Boxes had punched through the side of our other box. We paid the other $500 later over the phone and when we came back to unload the other box, they first couldnt figure out how to pull up our record on the computer, then ignored us for several minutes before finally telling us we still owed $217. Then it took them 20 minutes to figure out how to work their computer system so we could pay them more money we didnt owe them. After that we waited another 20 minutes for their clearly inept forklift driver to get our other box, and he left it a good 10 feet from where he saw we were parked. Thanks dude. Their parking lot is a mess because they haphazardly leave trucks and U-Boxes everywhere, and I scraped my vehicle trying to move it closer to where hed left the U-Box. And upon unpacking that box we discovered that as suspected, several items were damaged because of the mishandled forklift. Bottom line: Completely unprofessional and a total ripoff.

Great customer service, professional and courteous. I got turned around trying to get to the freeway. I pulled into the U Haul. Calvin acknowledge me right away. He was helping a guy with a truck. He said he will be right with me as soon as he give the truck a check up or something like that i cant remember exactly. So I decided to let my daughter and her friend go to the restroom and there was another guy inside. He acknowledge us and asked how can he help. I asked for the restroom. Oh of course no problem... I didnt need a truck yesterday but when I do I know where to go. Thanks guys.

Called before getting there, the person on the phone ask many questions , after making sure Ill be ok to go , (between the questions was how are you paying cash was the answer) we drove 45 min and ohhh surprise they didnt rent us the tow because they said they dont take cash, so what is the point of asking and have you that long at the phone if they wont tell you about it really disappointed since they knew it the it was a long drive and we were thinking on use cash

Always seem to have vehicles available even if no reservation. Can buy insurance for rental right there. Vehicles use regular gas. Daily rates are cheap but does also cost $1 per mile driven so only using local location is affordable. Easy to drive vehicles but interiors are very basic model like some dont have cruise control nor CD player, just radio & air conditioner.

Truck smelled like an ash tray. Odometer reading at start was wrong, would have been charged 12 extra miles at $1/mile if I hadnt followed up on it. Had a cigarette burn on the seat. Tilt steering was loose, not locking in place firmly. In a pinch, access to an affordable, beater truck on demand is worth the shortcomings of the rental experience.

Went there to buy some boxes. The staff there didnt acknowledge us when we came in, but maybe it was to give us a chance to look around. When we got to to the register, we were the ones who said "Hows it going?" The staff didnt really seem ready to help. This might be how they are regularly.

Complete disgrace of customer service unfriendly Im willing to help and forced a bigger truck on me when I was stranded went from a $50 rental to a $300 rental because they werent prepared with a reservation and still refuse to give me the reservation guarantee $50 this place is a joke

I ordered ubox service and they charged my account prior to my reservation date. They turned around and made it my fault as it I changed the shipped date. For something that they were clearly at fault and want refund my funds due to their error. This place sucks...

Such bad service one person tells you one thing and somebody else tell you something totally difference. They dont care at all they dont try to fix the problem they dont care at all. I went to star rental they was very friendly and helpful no problems.

Went there to drop of a truck after hours, and was approached by a stranger who clearly didnt work there. Turns out a whole bunch of shady people were just hang out on the side/back of the building. Didnt feel safe.

Despite a line when we got there in the morning, staff were quick and courteous. Offered to move a vehicle so I could leave my car in full view of the shop as opposed to parking on a rarely used side street.
