I have to review our move in two separate parts. The packers and then the moving truck. The 3 packers came in on the first day. They smelled of cigarette smoke, which makes me congested. They were very polite! I was very anxious to have this done by someone else, but since I was loading everything into a huge semi-truck vs small trailers (with several trips), I felt that this was the best way to go. Not to mention, I just didnt have the time. So right off, I was clear with them about what I had taken aside and stashed in closet--to not pack. And they didnt pack that stuff. Then I explained a few items, to watch for and just holler so I could take care of it. Namely items that may become unburied in my childrens rooms--like dirty clothes and trash. We found some dirty clothes stuffed in with stuffed animals. Yuck. And trash. Lots of it. So I paid for the weight of that trash to ride across country and then have to dispose of it at the new house. I kept my anxiety under control, but checked in with them frequently. They never called to inform me of any of the things I aforementioned. I had one guy packing the entire kitchen. He did a GREAT job. Everything arrived intact, in good shape and undamaged. The other two guys packed boxes within boxes, smashed in things to fill crevices--I havent one single roll of TP thats round. All smunched. That goes for boxes of kleenex, tissue paper, hats, stuffed figures, remote-control vehicles (crushed childrens heart), dry-clean only garments, etc. The second day the "other" 2 guys arrived by themselves and continued to pack in the same way. Another thing I had asked was for labelling. And I volunteered to come around and label further. Ive found boxes labelled car manuals. It had one car manual with many other pleasure reading, business manual, paper sorters, etc. I had a box labelled partylite decor. No partylite in it whatsoever. This box had smashed "packed" boxes of fragile tea cups, porcelain, glass--thin, crush-able, breakable stuff---all rammed it. Disgraceful. I have about 2 tall boxes of camping gear, but had 6 labelled that way. I could go on and on. This was a very frustrating experience. The truck part is way different. One of the packers came to help load the truck. Sigh. his attitude was so-so to start with and by day end, was atrocious. He was slamming stuff into boxes, onto the ground, onto the hand-truck, into the truck. The truck driver was doing his ever-lovin best to run interference, but I was in tears by the time lunch was over. The one down side of the truck driver is that they are responsible for all the furniture. He made them disassemble almost everything. So, when the truck showed up at the new house, we had 5 pieces that were broken beyond repair, and several more damaged. Headboard warped(weight), lawnmower top piece flapping loose, drawers misaligned, and so on. Also, the "un-packers" told us that they were not told that they would be staying to re-assemble furniture. So, we have a bed with no crossbars installed underneath and is now fallen apart, a bunkbed with bolts falling out to the floor, another bed with the side rail bent so bad and assembled right that the mattress and boxspring fell right through. The driver gave us enough money to cover 2-3 of the 5 broken pieces. We have almost finished unpacking and will be submitting our "list" within the next month.

My move was done in 3 parts: A load in Minnesota, a storage in WA, & an unload in WA. For all of this activity I only had a couple of minor issues, so Im pleased with that. The folks who loaded my goods in MN did a great job & helped with packing mirrors/frames/oddball shaped items & worked like maniacs up & down a flight of stairs. On the unload side, Western Van was able to accommodate my work schedule so that I didnt have to take time off from my new job without pay. Antonio, Gino, & Toy were kind, courteous, quick, and went above & beyond by helping me out. They even had some tricks up their sleeves for some tight corners on a sneaky sofa move. Thanks guys!!!

They arrived in good spirits and, despite the fact that I hadnt completed my packing, they immediately got down to the business at hand. It was actually fun listening to their light banter, as they worked steadily. They were professional, polite and positive throughout the day and took the utmost care with my property. Jeff Butler and his team did a great job on our recent interstate move. Valuables and books and fragile items were packed securely. We have lots of framed art and it all arrived in 100% perfect condition. Jeffs crew worked fast but didnt cut corners. These guys are professionals and are focused on customer service. Id use them again in a heartbeat. If you are planning a move, ask for Jeff by name. You wont regret it!

They were very patient and curteous with everything. Board games, statues, and a ton of electronics. Happy with the speed of service and the packing job.
