Our whole experience from beginning to end has been horrific! We have since heard so many other horror stories and I wish we would have done more research before using Stone City as our fabricator. The day our counters were to be installed Stone City dropped our marble island counter while trying to take it off their truck. A corner of our counter was chipped off and their first suggestion was to just round all of our island corners? We let them know that would not work for us. When they came back two days later with a shorter counter, no apology and no discount they installed the island and butler pantry marble counters. There was a small clamp mark on our island marble and we had asked if that was something that could be taken out. We know nothing about stone so we had no idea if the clamp mark could come out or not...they should know better. The installers told us that they could fix it and we had no reason to doubt them. They proceeded to buff out the clamp mark and they actually created a DIP in our counter. They buffed out an area approximately 35" x 12" and took away all of our honing in that area. This created a huge shiny area on our honed counters from the day the counters were installed and a dip where the clamp mark was. Please note that we had paid a full price upgrade for honed marble counters. We called Stone City to please send someone to fix the mess they made. It took many calls to even get anyone to talk to us. They sent out their "master fabricator"...these are their words...to fix our counter. The man started to sand our marble counter with a circular sander and my husband quickly stopped him and asked him what he was doing. My husband asked him if he had the tools to re-create the honed surface and the man said no. My husband asked him to please leave. At this point Stone City had now added circular sander markers on our brand new marble island counter. We then proceeded to contact Stone City again and again over the next many months. We were NEVER contacted first and had to always contact them. We rarely had a returned call and no one was interested in getting our counter fixed. Despite many requests we only were able to talk to the owner one time. We then went out on our own and contacted a honing company to have them look at our counters and see what WE could do to fix the counters. PLEASE NOTE that at this time we thought WE would need to pay to have our counters fixed because Stone City was ignoring the mess they made and they acted like they just wanted us to go away. It took us SIX MONTHS to get Stone City to pay to have the island counter re-honed. Last Friday the honing company tried to fix the mess Stone City made. They had to re-hone the whole surface and it doesnt look at all like the counters we paid a lot for. The men did a wonderful job with what they could actually do but they always let us know they could never re-create the counters we paid for. Our counter was dropped and had to be re-sized. From the day our counters were installed we had a large surface that was shiny and buffed out the honing we had paid extra for and a significant dip where the clamp mark once was. We NEVER received an apology and NEVER were we told they would fix the problem. Not once. They would go months without calling us back and following up. WE had to contact the honing company and arrange our counters to be fixed. It took 6 months to get our counters "fixed" and even now they are not what we paid for. There was no call from Stone City even after the honing was done to follow up. We spent a lot of money and had waited a long time to be able to upgrade our kitchen. It is so sad that we have never been able to enjoy what we paid for and that Stone City has so little respect for peoples time and hard earned money. Everyone can make mistakes but to not acknowledge the mistake and to not do whatever you can to make things right in a timely manner is just horrible customer service. I would never go to Stone City again and I will be the biggest voice among people I know to tell them the same.

Very disappointed in this company! We purposely waited for a month for a 20% off sale at Home Depot to buy countertops for our house. In the meantime, we decided to shop around a bit, and went to Stone City. Our sales rep was nice, but the quote came in much higher than the Home Depot sale price. I sent a copy of the Home Depot quote to Stone City, and asked if they would be willing to price match, because we would rather support a local business. Stone City agreed to price match, sent us a contract for the updated amount, and even scheduled the final measurements and installation. We signed and returned the contract, and paid a $3,070.16 deposit. Then, 2 days after the sale at Home Depot ended, Stone City called to say that they would no longer honor the contract! We were told that they had misjudged, and the job would actually require a larger slab, and there was no profit margin for them. We relied on their word (and the contract we signed!) and we missed out on the sale. We are now stuck paying an extra $1,000 for countertops. Home Depot quote for Pietra Quartz: $4,094.88 Stone City quote for Pietra Quartz: $5,077.78 *The promotional date was on the Home Depot quote that I forwarded the sales rep. I can only assume that they saw the promotional end date, and decided to pull the contract after the promotion ended. Never buy from this company!

First of all I am a real customer, not a plant with any positive or negative bias. We shopped around town for new granite counter tops for our kitchen and chose Stone City based on their selection, price, rapid installation and convenience to our house. We were extremely pleased on all counts. From start to finish (initial measurements to get us a FIRM price, template creation, fabrication and installation) our job was completed in under 3 weeks. Larry, our sales rep did not try to up sell us at all. In fact, he helped us select a slab which was considerably less expensive than the first one we picked out. The installation team (Sergio and Antonio) was superb in the care they took with our walls, floors and house in general. The removal of our existing granite tile counter tops was accomplished with absolutely no damage to surrounding cabinets, walls, etc. The quality of the on-site customizations required was excellent. We are extremely happy with the end result and we would highly recommend Stone City. We are glad that we could support a local, Aurora business.

This small, unassuming storefront opens up to a full shop and back yard where they keep hundreds of slabs that youre free to browse. Seems like a nice little family-run operation. Staff was very helpful, they were able to schedule the installation quickly (<1wk), and price was the lowest I could find. Some shops quoted me 2x the price that Stone City did. Installers were over-the-top professional and clearly took pride in doing a high-quality job. Some stone shops make templates then let you arrange them on the slab to see exactly what the final product will look like - I suspect thats something of a "premium" service (probably costs more), but I wish I had asked for it. The pieces I got have a few "spots" in them that look very unlike the rest of the slab (totally normal - its a natural material, after all), but I might have been slightly happier if I had been able to arrange the layout a little differently. If choosing a slab that has more variation to it, consider asking if you can view the layout prior to cutting (Im sure theyd let you).
