In retaliation to the March 24th post: -The building is separated by sections, since there is such a large selection of equipment: Cardio, cross-training, heavy weights, squash/racquetball, basketball, tennis, and pools. Heaven forbid one have to walk down a set of stairs... -I have been going to this club since October and have never heard of the water being shut off... let alone for weeks at a time. This is coming from someone who is there 4-5 times a week. -The tanning booth has a roof... last time I check with my non-X-ray eyes, I could never tell who was inside the booth. -There is only one day of the week when the basketball court is reserved at 5. The court has girls volleyball at 5:30-7:30 on Mondays according to the schedule they make available on their website! -Cancel a written contract with YOUR signature?!?! What is this world coming to?!?!?! -Popular music? Played on speakers for the public? Why are they trying to target a majority of the population with their music choice!?!? Here is a review that is straight forward and not one sided: Negatives -Some of the cardio equipment squeaks, and a few are older (the ones in the back) -Its an older building from the 70s, so it has a retro feel -Lighting is moody -Not enough evening classes -Someone always breaks the steam room, dry sauna, or whirlpool at any given time Positives -TONS of classes to choose from during the daytime -There is always equipment available for use -Low price -Extended hours -Member appreciation days are killer! I got three free bowls of Chipotle when they were sponsoring! I have gotten countless numbers of free Muscle Milks also! Overall well worth the price (but nothing spectacular). It beats waiting 24 hours for a piece of cardio equipment at 24hr Fitness!

A pity I paid money to this hellhole. Ancient equipment, often two pieces of equipment you need are two floors apart. Place is derelict and wreaks. Shutdowns of water for a week at a time while they "replace stuff". From the stairs you can stare straight into the tanning booth to see whos in there. Theyll kick you out of the basketball area if there is a class going on, which is always at 5:00 so dont plan on doing any of that after work When they dont have a class, its always followed by volleyball or reserved for something else, which of course also takes up the basketball area. They used to let you cancel membership by calling, now you have to walk in and fill out a form while they watch. They also have a policy where they bill you for the next month after cancellation (30 days notice), so be sure to figure this into your cost forecasting, because theyll do anything for that extra buck. While you can wear earbuds, which I recommend, if you forget them youre forced to listen to pop while you weightlift. What a wretched experience - being sung to about imagining Im a butterfly whilst benchpressing. A _major_ pain to get to - seems so convenient getting off a 6th and union - until you try to do it between 3:30 and 6:30. Its an easy 10 minutes waiting at lights while slowly creeping forward. You could have been done with 1/4th of your workout by the time you pull into the parking lot.

What a shame. I had been a member of The Point for many years. Even though they have hardly done any upgrades in the past 10yrs I still really enjoyed the club, teachers, and members. I had some problems with the club this year none of which a manager addressed or called me back. Now after canceling my membership they charged me for an extra 15 days after my membership was cancelled. When I called and got a manager on the phone, I could not believe how rude and disrespectful she was. I am disappointed in what has happened to the club I used to enjoy. Now I am forced to support the big box gym down the road instead of supporting local business.

I honestly dont know where these negative reviews are coming from. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. THe place is massive and they literally have everything from two great pools to a rock climbing wall they seem to have every kind of work out machine imaginable. The personal trainers and amazing, Ive taken several tennis and yoga classes at 24 hour fitness and at several other gyms and they just dont have the same expertise that the Points trainers do. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone.

I would have rated 4 stars until I saw that they dropped their year membership contract...so now you can sign up month to month which saves me the headache if down the road i decide to move...this gym has an awesome rock climbing wall, as well as basketball courts and raquetball...all which are free to members...and a nice indoor and outdoor pool and hottubs. Also they have a tennis court although it costs money to rent that. Great facility overall and very nice staff members/trainers/owners!

The conditions at this facility are sub-par. The building is dingy and the womens bathroom is horrible. In the summer time I think its cooler outside then inside. A motel 6 is cleaner and nicer. The customer service is awful. Although their "financial handlers" - eFit - were pleasant enough to waive an incorrect fee, the customer service person was horrible to both me and the person from eFit while trying to reconcile the situation. I would urge you to select any other gym in the area.

I have never had a worse experience with a business than with The Point. Their "salesman" lied about the length of the contract. Even after my contract was up and I canceled my membership the slimy gym continues to charge me. The basketball courts are often hard to get on as they block off the entire thing for volleyball a couple nights a week. The front desk lady might be the most miserable woman I have ever met. Not a place you want to belong to. Youve been warned!!

This place is less of an athletic club and more of a jungle gym for kids. Anyone serious into fitness I would suggest goes somewhere else. They rent out their facilities to different basketball, karate, tennis, volleyball, and dance teams so ½ the time you can’t use the facilities you’re paying for. I cancelled my membership early last month but I was told I had to pay for all of May and all of June. Seriously, come on management!

On the positive side, the instructors are wonderful, the classes are great. On the negative side - the majority of the front desk staff have no training in how to answer any questions which go beyond the mundane and obvious - they might as well not be there. (They only have one person on the front desk who is phenomenal.) The womens bathrooms are gross.
