I have rented the pickup truck here on two separate occasions previous to this experience. On the first occasion, I was told I would need either my own insurance card or to buy their insurance for the pickup. On the second time I was told I did NOT need my own insurance (I never buy theirs). I EXPLICITLY ASKED and mentioned that last time I had been told otherwise. I was ASSURED that I did not need to show my insurance. So, on this occasion, I did not bring it with me (I rode my bike) and of course I was asked for my insurance card. When I called to inquire about the fact that different employees gave opposite answers to the same question I received the worst customer service experience of my entire life. When you call the national number they tell you that the insurance is optional, and they have no idea why that location would do that. They offered to transfer me to the regional office that oversees that location and after I agreed, they promptly disconnected me. I called back and after going through everything again, I was transferred successfully. The person I spoke to next is responsible for this review. In no way did she seem to understand what I was even asking. She did keep repeating the same script over and over again about how managers have the discretion to ask for what ever they want for what ever reason. I asked why the previous employee had told me something different and she replied that that "could not have happened" and that she was going to "disconnect the call" (she was threatening this throughout the entire call). While you are on hold a voice informs you that the call will be recorded and to "ask your agent if you would like a copy." At several points during the conversation she contradicted herself, so I asked her for the recording. She replied that the calls are only recorded at THEIR discretion and that this one was not (OF COURSE). Funny, the recording said it was so that they can "Keep their promises," so I dont see how that makes sense. Finally, before hanging up on me, she informed me that there was no way that herself or any other local Uhaul employees will experience any adverse effects due to my complaints. This is completely consistent with the negative customer service reviews posted here and on other site about the Denver Uhaul locations. And they do not care and will BRAG about how they do not care! Again, all I wanted to know was what I should bring with me to the rental location. From my call, it is still unclear.

I reserved a truck at this Lakewood location several weeks in advance and then received a call 3 days before my confirmed date stating that the agreed-upon truck is not available anymore. UHaul wanted me to drive almost 30 miles away to pick up another truck. This is unacceptable since everything about a move revolves around having a TRUCK. I ended up renting from Penske instead, who said they will have a truck available in less than 3 days. Dont use U Haul unless you want to play Russian roulette with your move date, your movers, your cleaning crew, and your rent. Leading up to your big day, all can go well for you until the last component of your move - the U Haul rental - falls apart and youre stuck outside your old home with all your nice furniture and belongings in the pouring rain.

I called the number that Google had down to make reservations for vehicle Storage at U-Haul. I asked for the local phone number to make sure they had what I would need, but corporate said that everything would be taken care of and that I would not need to do that. So I went down personally to the office says there to give my ID and the girls had absolutely no information on the reservation and said they dont even offer that service anymore it was a complete waste of time

Went to this location to get a hitch installed. The installer for some reason decided to tape the wiring to the brakeline wire which shorted the entire switch and essentially blew out the wiring on the left hand side of the vehicle. $700 to repair. Called to bring this to their attention- unhelpful and referred me to their insurance to go through a drawn out claims policy. Be careful bringing your vehicle here.

Charged us an extra day even though we returned the vehicle hours before it was rented just because they were closing 30 minutes after we arrived to return! The girl wouldnt get off her seat to come out & check in the vehicle & then they claimed damage after we left! We had coverage but they said the coverage doesnt cover the damage! This place is a fraud & do not use them!

Girl told me & the rv behind me they dont fill propane in the rain...funny part is it wasnt raining. ..it rained this morning and sure its a gloomy day...she said it was because lighting...I suspect laziness was the real culprit. ..she told me I could go to suburban propane....they had no problems fillin my rv tank minutes later...

A large facility with a pretty good inventory, but grossly understaffed. Staff that was there was rude and slow. U-Haul re-booked my reservation to this location without explanation. A mistake.

I lock the keys inside the u-Haul truck and I was like seven miles away from the store they dont have away to open them I ended up paying loock Smit 140 dollars to open the door for me
