Just putting it out there that I asked Manitou Auto Service to look a my car because the issue they had "fixed" a few months ago was back at it. I asked if they could check it before I spent any money and they agreed. Called me back 5 hours later saying it was low on oil an I agreed to an oil change. My bill was $170. I was surprised. They have been fine with me in the past. Because it was seemingly the same issue I just had fixed I clearly asked if they could check it out before I spent anything and they said YES. Then I approved the oil change and they only tell me when they call back they are gonna charge me $100 for the diagnostic and $70 for the oil change. They did change the air filter and top off the fluids. Just was told by a friend they charged him $40 for an oil change. UPDATE: I care more about people in general than the reputation of one local business, so Ill just be honest. After leaving a voicemail that I would be contacting the BBB for deceptive business practices if I didnt get a call back, I got a call. I was asked "so you dont think you should have to pay for the diagnosis even though it was a different code from the last time?" I said "No. Because I made a point of asking you if you would do the diagnosis for free." I was then told "Ok , Ill take $50 off." I remained silent and the gentleman who is in the business yelp picture said "Is that fair?" I said "No its not fair and I know how the BBB will feel about it." The gentleman then said "Ok, Ill give you your $100 but you can never come here again." OMG!!! Like I was going to ever use someone who boldfaced tried to rip me off?1? Wow. I went and picked up my $100, but know that they still charged me $70 for an oil change and I had to threaten them with a BBB complaint for them to do the right thing.

Amazing people an and great service. We had a flat tire in West Texas on our honeymoon. I decided to get it fixed before driviing up Pikes Peak. I got there shortly after they opened to a full lot, and lots of busy people. I went in and advised them of my situation, and they got right to work. Had to patch 2 holes, and mounted it back on the truck for me. Congratulated me on the marriage and sent me on my way. The owner expressed his motto "Treat people like family." And that is exactly what he did. I highly recommend this shop to anyone, local or visiting for good and honest service.

Manitou Auto Service is fantastic - not only are they locals, but they make me feel comfortable every time I take in my car. They do a great job on my 2007 Subaru and their prices are reasonable. Probably the first repair service that I didnt feel was taking advantage of me! Once I had a flat tire and my spare was flat - since I live around the corner I called up and asked if they could fix it that afternoon - they had me drive it over immediately, fixed it quickly and had me on my way. Wonderful people, wonderful service, oh - and they have a couple of great dogs, too!

I have spent the last couple years trying to find an honest car service shop. I was recommended by a friend to take my car to this place and I am so glad they told me about it! This place is the only one I can trust to tell me whats really wrong with my car and how urgent it is that I get it done. They spend a lot of time explaining what parts are bad, and one time even brought out the old parts to show me the defect. I was impressed! They also seem to be fairly priced, especially compared to the dealers.

I used to go to the Mazda dealership and Firestone to have my car worked on. After a ridiculous estimate from Mazda and Firestone messing up my car multiple times, I stumbled upon Manitou Auto Service. The team is knowledgeable, quick, honest, and the services are fairly priced. The best part is that Charles will go the extra mile to ensure you understand what is going on with your car and then detail the process he will take to remedy the issue in writing. You really cannot ask for a better mechanic.

We were on vacation with a rented car and the warning light alerting us that the left rear tire needed to be checked came on two different times .After putting air in the tire the first time, we decided to have it checked the second time - at Manitou Auto Service. This review is long overdue but small businesses like this deserve the recognition. My alternator failed in my truck when trying to head up to the mountains for a ski trip. I had my car towed in early and they were able to get me in and out in less than 2 hours. They charged a very reasonable price and were very extremely helpful in offering recommendations for breakfast and a bowl of water for my dog. Do not hesitate to stop by this shop for auto service!

I have one word that describes this company, AMAZING. They went over and beyond for me today, I had a flat tire and they came to me which was about a mile away from them and put on my spare for free. They are not the typical mechanics we all know where they only care about money they care about people. I will never be able to thank them enough, anytime I have car issues this will be the first place I will ever go to thank you again for everything!! Crystal

Charles, Joan, and "the guys" are the best folks for any kind of vehicle issue and repair. Ive had them analyze and assess a number of different issues over the years and they always take care of them. They also go way over and above the normal customer service -- they have come up to our home to jump start cars, replace batteries, and even give us a ride home. They know what theyre doing and theyre the best mechanics anywhere!!

Great service and customer focused. While on spring break, we came down from Pikes Peak to find a near flat tire (nail in it). Pulled in near closing time, Mitch (I think) and guys jumped right on it and fixed the tire for us. They would accept no pay for the service. My family (6 of us) was totally blown away by the service and generosity. Image how well theyll treat customers with potential for repeat business.
