Getting this review in weeks after my experience with JH. I was on my way to Sturgis, SD for the Bike Rally towing a trailer through the Colorado mountains with my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. This truck has over 160K on it and it still has many original parts on it. Considering that it spend 7 years in the Chicago Metro area and then the last 2 years in Arizona. Needless to say this is the best vehicle I ever owned. Well, after stopping for the night in Frisco I got up the next morning to continue my final days drive to Sturgis. I smelled Antifreeze from under the hood. When I checked there were splashes of antifreeze over the engine. I was at a local business when the lady recommended these folks. I drove there and found the business. One of the owners who appeared to be having a stressful morning approached me to inquire what I needed. I advised him of the problem. He told me that he "Might" be able to get to me this day (Saturday). In my selfish traveling way I said thanks but I need to get it fixed that day. He then came out of nowhere and told me, "You people are really something!" In my shocked (how do you talk to a customer that way look on my face) he continued to tell me that travelers always expect the repair shop to drop everything they had scheduled to fix their problem right away. Never mind those regular customers who do business here all year long and probably for a long time! After a second for the shock to wear off of me, I then realized that he was so Right! Who the heck am I to demand or expect that type of treatment? Why am I so special? Odds are hell never see me again. He then explained that If I was to go down the road, Id probably run into the same situation at any other Repair shop along the way and that I could even damage my Engine even more if I do so! As a Guy whos worked on cars my self my entire life, How could I have not known this? Selfish, I am Special and I need it now type of person! So, after my self awareness had to be dragged out by a stranger, I realized he was so DAMN RIGHT! The good news was that they were able to get my truck in, diagnose that it was a bad radiator. They were able to get the parts and get me out of the shop around 5:30 PM. They didnt have to be so professional. They could have said sorry Charlie! No, They fixed it up! The guys working there are really Pros! The know what they are doing. They are not Backyard Garage Mechanics! I hope that If I ever get through Silverthorne, CO again that I dont have a breakdown but I will be sure to stop by and say hello! I was happy that I was the one that was put into my place. So, as I speak for me and the 100s/1,000s of travelers that have mechanical issues, I want to apologize on my behalf and theirs, and want to say thanks for the life lesson and the Great Work! Terrible customer service. If you are having work done on your car that is lasting more than a day, I recommend going to another mechanic in the area. I had my timing belt replaced here, and I was originally told the service would take a week. The owner said he would call me on Friday to update me on the progress. Friday came and went, and when I called on Monday I was told that the part was never ordered and that they would call me the following Friday. This happened 3 times (yes, my service was extended to 3 weeks from the original one week estimation), where I was given a day that they would call for me to pick up my car and then they would never call. I understand the length, but the issue is that they would never call to tell me the timeline was extended. On the second Monday that I called, I was told that "If I keep calling every day like this, they wouldnt ever be able to get the work done," which is condescending an unnessecary and completely untrue. The only time I called was when they missed their self-appointed deadline of calling me. Week 3, they call me on Friday morning to pick up my car. On the phone I ask if they also changed my snow tires, as I had asked a week ago. He told me yes. I drive to JH and when I walk in, they ask if I can wait an hour because they forgot to change my tires. I tell them no because I have a meeting in 30 minutes. The best customer service I receive during the whole experience is when they finally drop my car off at my office 4 hours later. If you are getting your oil changed, fine, go here if you must. But if you are looking for a mechanic that remembers the deadlines he sets for himself and actually communicates to you when plans change, dont go here. They are terrible.

A year from today, I was in the process of moving from Chicago to Las Vegas Nevada. My ride was going smooth up until I got to that scary mountain in Silverthorne. I will never forget this experience when I lost my brakes going down those beautiful scary mountains. My heart was racing and my entire body was shaking bad. I googled the closet brake shop and three shops came up on my phone. I was not sure which brake shop to call. I thought to myself, please let me pick the best shop and this shop stood out to me. I called the shop and this nice young man answered the phone. The young man told me to calm down and take a deep breath and everything was going to be alright. At that moment, I stop shaking and my heart rate began to beat normal. The gentleman asked me what kind of car I was in and he told me how to drive down the mountain to the shop. Once I got there everyone was so nice, pleasant, understanding and helpful. I left my car there so they can fix my brakes and rotors. Those guys were nice enough to drop me and my children off at the hotel. A day or two later, another nice gentleman came to pick me up from the hotel and he drove me back to the shop. The gentleman waited around for me and he gave a driving lesson. The gentleman showed me how to drive on the express way and shift gears. I really appreciate everyone taking time to speak with me, explain things and teaching me how to drive. Starting next year, I will travel to Silverthorne once a year for a relaxing get away in a beautiful area surround by beautiful people. I give this place 5 stars and would highly recommend this business.

Its not often, if ever, when somebody says that had a great experience with a new mechanic. But it was the case here. I was driving west on I-70 when coming out of the Eisenhower Tunnel, when my brake line burst and I lost the ability to use my brakes. Silverthrone was the first exit I could get off at, it was after 6 so all shops were closed. After spending the night I was referred to another shop in town by a auto parts store, upon arrival they said that they could maybe get me in in two days and then maybe see if they had the right stuff to fix it. As be a passing traveler I didnt have two days wait, I googled shops in town and saw JH and their review rating and decided to take my car over there. They were honest and said that they would try to get my car in that day, after they finished the work the promised to others first. Once my car was in the shop, Kamil explain each step in the process of fixing my car and why they were doing each step. He gave me a worst case scenario on the price estimate, which was good to know what the possible upper end would be instead of low balling it and surprising me with a larger bill at the end. It took a bit longer than expected to fix it, they closed at 6 but stayed to 7 to finish the job so I could get back on the road, and they didnt charge me anything more than the normal rate to stay late. So if youre passing through or live in Silverthorne, these guys are the best stop I have ever been to. Kamil truly cares about the cars he works on but more so the people that come through his doors.
