I have had yet the interesting experience on Feb 15, 2016. I cannot say it was a bad experience because it caused a positive outcome in the end and joy with my vehicle. Roger was my Service Representative and very kind I must say A+ to him, he stated my vehicle will be in the shop in two hours time and it was pulled in within 30 minutes. I was getting a 2012 Ram pickup (2500 Laramie Longhorn / Mega Cab - 4x4) with 23340 miles a routine oil change and tire rotation, I needed a tire balance check because I purchased four new tires a month ago and they were rough on the highway. My service technician for the day was Fidel. He earned about a C+ for the day. My vehicle was returned with under inflated tires in the rear by 20 psi, and a lot of oil spilled on the engine cover all down the motor that dripped all over the place to include my driveway where I had no oil before. The only place I ever had my truck serviced was the dealership and it was the three 7500 mile oil changes and the fuel filter change when it came to fluids. SO - I did find that my truck ran smooth like a champ with the Rotella Triple Protection that Pep Boys offers into the Diesel motors!!! this is huge. Also the balance that Fidel administered was amazing, better than I felt when I purchased the truck... Now I was down about oil all over my motor, so I had my wife call Pep Boys, she spoke to Luis Ramos. Luis offered someone to come pick up my vehicle think from what she told me... I would not agree to that after the tech drove a bit fast in the parking lot I could only imagine how he would drive 15 miles from my house to Pep Boys with my nice Truck. I told Luis I can bring it there under fair conditions, that they clean my motor to the condition it was in or close enough to it, but that is harsh. It would cost more than the oil change... Luis said they do it in house, I would not concur to that, I been around long enough to watch mechanics spray harsh solvents on motors and wipe them with red rags ruining rubber seals and plastic parts, so I asked if I took photos would they be able to give me a free oil change on my next visit. Luis said "YES" I said that was admirable!!! I took photos and I used my own skills to clean my motor with mild Simple Green and warm water, light pressure wash, and air nozzle dry. I also inflated my tires to the correct pressure. Took a few more photos. I am happy now with the great oil, smooth alignment. NOW - I will not take my vehicle for another oil change there but I will use the lifetime balance service that I earned with the four tires I purchased, I commend Roger, for great friendly service. Thank you. Luis you are commended my friend, I will show you the photos and tell you all about the test you passed and how I stated, I dont want a free $83.00 oil change but I thank you it is not the freebie I was asking for but the principal of "Honesty" it is worth more than what I expected and I no longer feel I am owed a thing. And Fidel, I would kindly say this you been working on three of my other vehicles and I have had small issues, you are talented. Listen to me here please with an open heart and mind... slow down, techs like you have a gift, use your gift and listen to your passion for your work not the people rushing you at work. ALL IN ALL... THANK YOU PEP BOYS!!! So far I been your customer at this location for 6 years and a Pep Boys customer since 1995 I hope I have many more years to go, God willing. I visited today and on a walk in i got new tires 4 new for my Subaru Forrester for less than 400 dollars bottom line cost. Replaced my roters which I knew I abused and requested action from me for all things to purchased walked me through every process and was done in an hour. I had belt some crooked guys in the past didnt put on correctly and they took care of me as we totaled maintenance costs bundled at every turn. This the least expensive oil change, air filter change and tire change in my life. These guys were courteous and respectful. The mechanic i worked with was named Rogers and the guy gave me probably the least expensive costs Ive had for making several other changes not listed as well on my own recommendations. I handed them a really beat up car i knew my problems going in and they met and exceeded every standard without me telling them, never once suggesting something that wasnt already in field of view best experience i had for chain auto repairs. Its finally safe to say these guys didnt rip me off or prey on lack of knowledge, and threy in quire a few perks to boot Good crew. Best maintenance experience yet. Im really glad thank you.

Second time I have been to Pep Boys, NEVER again! First time was for AC service last year. AC stopped working about a month after having it "fixed". At that time, I also asked for washer fluid top off and oil top off. Was told everything had been done. Got home, checked and washer fluid reservoir-- empty and oil was not topped off. This time, battery light was coming on and car was not starting easily. Pep Boys replaced "bad battery." Car did not start after battery was replaced. They said it was probably a bad starter, but it would cost me $150 just to test the starter- (even though the car did start earlier when I drove it in). Had vehicle towed to another shop, battery terminals were cleaned and car started up. Pep Boys replaced battery, but did not clean the terminals and cables. Ended up needing to replace the alternator, labor was less than the cost of the labor to test the starter at Pep Boys.

Do not bother making appointments, they will not keep them. They amuse you are dropping off your car and have someone to drive you around. I guess thats why I was sitting there asking on the status from 7am to 1pm. They had to order a part and scheduled me to come in when it arrived, said the tech would be available and would install the part. When I came in the part was there and when I asked about the install I wall told that the tech just got off. So they scheduled me to get a part installed when no tech is scheduled to work... great thanks very helpful, thanks for ordering my part for me and handing it to me. Im not able to leave my car like everyone else I guess so maybe its just my fault. First time I used this service, and the last. I would rather pay full price at a dealer then ever go back to a Pep Boys.

I would give ZERO stars if I could. I had a flat tire after 6:00 when all the other tire places were already closed. I looked up PEP BOYS and noticed they were open so I headed there. After stopping a few times to air up my tire I made it there about 6:30. The place was like a ghost town so I was hopeful. I went to the counter and told the guy there that I was desperate to get it fixed. He had the nerve to remind me that they were closing in half an hour and that he would be happy to set me up with an appointment for the next day. REALLY? Five guys sitting around staring at each other and they cant fix a flat? I went to Discount Tire the next day and bought FOUR NEW TIRES. Your loss Pep Boys. It will be a cold day in hell before I darken your door again.
