After having some electrical problems with my car.......Got stuck in a bad situation, needed to get to my husband because his grandmother had just died but when I went out to start my car it almost didnt. I called these guys because I needed someone to help immediately and they went out of their way to make time for me despite not knowing what was wrong with my car or how long it would take them to fix it. By the time I got down to their parking lot my battery had completely died and my car was done. I wasnt going anywhere without their help. Barry, the owner, was so accommodating and so caring. They never charge me a diagnostic fee to figure out what was wrong with my car. Very simply ran outside immediately diagnosed my car and then got one of his mechanics right on it. I was in and out of there within a half an hour. He did not overcharge me in fact in my opinion he under charged me. The mechanics in that situation would have taken full advantage and charged as much as they possibly could have and taking advantage of every possible way. These people did not, they are good people, good mechanics and everyone there has a great big heart. I was able to get to my husbands side and console him with very little headache or worry once I pulled into their parking lot. Definitely got more than my moneys worth. I went to black bear today to have a check engine light checked. i knew previously that the check engine light code was giving a misfire in one of the cylinders. So i asked them to check it for me and to get back to me on their findings. They called back an hour later and told me that their computer was giving them 3 different codes, 1 of which matched what i had told them before. Bacically the codes they said they got, told them that all of the cylinders were misfiring and Black Bear suggested to me that i replaced all 8 cylinders of my suv. i asked them the price to fix the problems and was told it would "roughly" cost $1,300.00 to fix them all. I told them i did not want that done and to fix the 1 cylinder that was misfiring instead. While on the phone with the owner i asked him how much would it cost to fix the 1 cylinder, he told me $285.00. After their service was done i was told the final cost was $395.00. I was able to get the price lowered to $322.00 after speaking with the owner but still it does not match the price i was given over the phone. Lets be serious here, the place is nice and all but it is overpriced! it was nice that they had free coffee and free soda but that does not change anything. if you have to get something minor fixed then maybe their cheaper but if you need engine work done, go somewhere else.

They Guy i regularly deal with at the shop i trust was on vaca and of course my car decided to act up. I was recommended to take my car down to see these guys, i called first and was kind of put off by the way the guy who answered the phone but i still opted to give them a chance.. Its a nice place to be sure but i was in shell shock when they came back with the cost of repairs. My entail gut feeling was something wasnt right from the phone was reassured in person. so i left. I watched the guy talking with customers and arrogant is all i thought. I took my car to my guy when he got back and he confirmed the issue was the same as the guy told me but the price was a 1/3 less then what they told me. thats a big difference for doing the same thing and the warranty i got is twice as long then what they had. So Im sorry but your highest quality parts from the parts store down the road known for cheap parts just didnt cut it this time. I told the person who recommended them and they where shocked to say the least and wont be going back either. Im sure the techs are good and do good work but dont overcharge your customers on parts with a smile.

I went to Back Bear Auto today 3/11/14 for the first time from a recommendation from my go to tire guy Tony from Tire Depot. I had four new all season tires installed at the Tire Depot and he sent me over here to the guys at Black Bear for the alignment. The owner Barry was so nice an accommodating that I will be back here for more work the next time I need something done. They took care of my alignment because I had my rack & pinion replaced from someone else and I needed it aligned. While I was waiting they were almost ready to close and I asked him about carbon build up and all that nonsense. He mentioned about a service they do where there is a slow drip of some fluid added under the hood and then a can of something into the gas tank which cleans stuff out better than the stuff you buy in the auto parts stores. Well I have to tell you that I am thoroughly impressed. My truck with over 239,000 miles definitely has more zip than it had. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

Barry and the guys at Black Bear have been wonderful to use for the past 3 years! Everyone is very friendly, its clean and you know youre not getting taken for a ride when you see the bill. He definitely is honest-- my husbands car needed new spark plugs; Barry noticed it was still under warranty and suggested going to the dealer, so we wouldnt need to pay out of pocket for the repairs. This saved us a couple hundred dollars. My mom one day accidentally hit something in the road, causing her bumper to come loose on her car. Knowing wed had such luck and that she had a long drive after leaving our house, she stopped by Barrys to have them check it. They brought it in, made sure the bumper was secure and tires were okay and sent her on her way in a matter of minutes.

I was in a jam and brought my car to black bear auto and they took care of me right from the start. I know they were very busy and the gentleman at the front desk took me in right away and they even offer a shuttle service and brought me to my work a couple miles away. The owner called me about two hours later and my alternator needed to be replaced. I was surprised when I picked up my car and my bill was for exactly what he quoted me. I really appreciate your service and for taking me in right away. I also saw you offer free coffee and soda which most shops charge for. Great job guys. I will def be back with my wifes car and recommend you to anyone who needs an honest shop.. Very satisfied

Ive been bringing my cars to Black Bear for 10+ years. Barry has always been upfront and honest with me regarding repairs and Ive truly enjoyed doing business with him and his staff. Hes helped me out in several emergency situations, given me rides to and from work and I appreciate his honesty and his willingness to help always! Ive referred many family members and friends who have also become long time customers! Barry, thank you for finally being "an honest mechanic"!
