I am appauled at the unprofessionalism of this salon - by the salon owner himself, Timothy Richard. I had been with my sylist for nearly 10 years until she moved to NYC. My hair had been colored for 10 years by a certified Redken Certified Color Specialist and because I trust the Redken brand, and because Timothy Richard falsely informed me that all of their stylists were Redken Color Certified, I decided to give them a shot. When I was booking, she told me "we need your credit card to secure the appointment". This was my fault for giving her the information without questioning why...but as a consumer trusting a salon and figuring it must be standard in the industry, I gave her my credit card information. The appointment was fine, however as the days went on, my hair began to feel like straw and became an orange color (I color blond). Somewhat satisfied, and again trusting, I booked another appointment (they were agressive in getting me to do so as I paid) As the days progressed, my hair started falling out in clumps in the shower. Maybe it was me, but in any case, thought I would try out a recommendation from my former stylist to fix my color and try to get back the health of my hair that my former stylist but years of work into. I just figured I would never go to Timothy Richard salon again but when they called to confirm my appointment on a Saturday for the following Tuesday, I was reminded of the appointment I made at the time I paid. I had been travelling on business the Saturday they called to confirm my appoinment and by the time I got their message, they had closed. And they are not open on Sunday or Monday, so I made a note to myself to call them (out of courtesy for the salon) first thing Tuesday morning when they opened. As scheduled, I called and told the woman who answered the phone that I needed to cancel. She asked me if I would like to reschedule and I told her "not at this time". Late afternoon that day, I received a phone call from someone who identified themselves as an employee of Timothy Richard salon. He told me because I missed my appointment today, and did not give 24 hour notice, he was charging my credit card they had on file $45. I informed him that I received a call from the salon on Saturday and the salon was not open on Sunday or Monday so at my first opportunity, I called and cancelled, therefore it was unfair to charge me. He then proceeded to go on to tell me that I had agreed to some ridiculous policy that it was ok for them to charge my card if I didnt give 24 hours of notice and that he was still going to charge my card. No one ever told me of such a policy, nor did I sign anything to agree to such policy. After telling him I would contact my bank to decline his charge, he responded "you are not welcome at this salon anymore" and hung up on me. Infuriated, I called back and asked to speak with whoever just called me. He gets back on the phone and when I asked him his name, he said "the owner, Timothy Richard" and promptly scolded me about "how two of his employees lost money" and how my cancelling had ruined his whole day and repeated several times that my cancellation was "poor business". Last time I checked, I wasnt in business with this dude or the salon so I didnt understand the comment. I am pretty sure I was a client who spent a good amount of money in his salon, only to have to pay more to have someone correct the crappy job they did on my hair. Besides being baffled that any business owner would treat a client this way, this salon sucks - and I am spreading the word. BTW, looks like the previous review was written by the owner himself. I mean what hair client is focused on the flooring, nevermind knows that they are "acid washed concrete"? Cmon.

To drama queen Jess, I am a hairdresser myself that goes to Timothy Richard Salon to get my hair done. First of all my colorist is Redken Certified, you can easily go to the Redken web site and check that and it is not something you can lie about. If you had really done your homework you would know that. But I suspect thats where you got the salon name in the first place. I am sure your one of those clients who is a problem in any salon your in. BTW the credit card thing is a policy in my salon too. Its to insure the stylist wont waste there time by you missing multiple appointments as I am sure you probably have, otherwise they would never have needed to charge your card. Timothy Richard is a completely professional salon with a talented staff and I always been totally satisfied with service and colors I have gotten. That is why I continue to go there. Ill bet there are many salons you have given poor reviews to because they have asked you to leave. Nice try!

I moved to East Granby thinking Id have to travel to find a good salon. I found Timothy Richards and was pleasantly surprised to find they were far better than my old salon - green tangerine. Ive been going over 2 years now and am still very happy with quality of both my cut and highlights.

My stylist, Chelsea, turned my overgrown-medium length boring hair into a suuuper cute bob! She styled it with a flat-iron to give me beachy waves. And the price is insanely reasonable!
