Before you purchase anything from Sears Automotive, be sure to do a search on Google for "Sear Automotive Ripped Off", and "Sears Automotive Bad Business Practices". Sears Automotive is in bad shape. They do not provide customer service and I assume they are pressured by managers to pad their billing. Go in and be overcharged, even when specials are advertised, you will get ripped off. Cheap tires and expensive mounting and balancing. We were sold the wrong tire, our wheel lock was removed and not replaced, and they kept the key! If we had a flat tire, we would have been stuck. In for service at Dan Perkins Subaru, our Subaru mechanic pointed out we had the wrong tire and no key to the remaining three tires. Only one tire was missing its wheel lock--the one Sear replaced. They asked if we wanted the wheel lock on and my girlfriend told them no. They never gave us the key or lock back. When we contacted them about this, they refused to pay for the wheel locks or install the correct tire. They said someone else must have taken it off--no other service related to the tires was done in the intervening time period. Sear response was to cite repairs done to the quarter panel and replacement of a bumper cover. This sort of behavior by SEARs is not uncommon. There have been lawsuits brought against Sears for padding bills. I would have thought they would stop that, but they havent. I wont do business with them ever again. AVOID AVOID AVOID While I have no issues with the main store, that taint of being screwed by Sears Automotive means I will never buy anything from them again. They are also the slowest service center Ive ever used. Finally, in my attempts to straighten out the issue with the incorrect tire. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. The Sear response was to lie in their response. I asked if I should bring the car in--I was 2.9 miles away at the Subaru Dealer that noticed the incorrect tire--5 minutes away. And they dare to tell me, I refused to bring the car in? I asked to bring it in, and was told not to. So that makes them liars, cheats and thieves. I will be printing up bumper stickers, "I was ripped off by SEAR AUTOMOTIVE.

I had a n appointment 10/28 8am for oil change and free performance snapshot. This is at sears auto 1201 Boston Post, Milford, CT 06460 milford mall. I had a coupon from website. FREE Vehicle Performance Snapshot Evaluation SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT Performance Snapshot evaluation includes: Computerized diagnostics check* Comprehensive visual inspection Easy-to-understand report with visual references and recommended repairs and maintenance Detailed explanation of the report by one of our certified technicians Our report allows you to evaluate recommended repairs and maintenance at your convenience — to easily decide when and what you’d like to proceed with. I had a noise coming at lower speed so I had ashed him to check . They just changed oil and told me noise may be form brakes or wheel bearing with no estimate. In mean time I had a coupon for free brake inspection and performance snap shot. They told me they do only visual checks only. Basically this place does basic oil change and tires only. I Took the car to auto shop in new haven, he told me wheel cover inside wheel in front was rubbing and he eliminated noise.

1st, the location is behind the Westfield Mall. Gmaps had a conflicting address. I called this Sears Auto Center to inquire about several services I needed performed on my car (fuel system flush, coolant flush, fuel filter replacement, tire rotation, alignment, inspection) and found the service over the phone to be helpful and informative. I was given a cost for each service as it was described, and asked relative questions regarding suggestive upkeep and maintenance of my car. I liked the transparency of how much everything I was asking to be done was going to cost, and decided to make the appointment, which was available immediately. In the end, everything was taken care of very well, however, I hesitate to give 5 stars because the time taken was well over the estimated time they communicated to me, and no one informed me throughout the services being performed that it was going to take longer than anticipated. So be cautious if you are on a deadline. Other than that miscommunication, excellent experience.

Went online to purchase 2 tires. Filled out the form completely and added to cart. $182.24 was the price. Decided to go to store instead because Im only 6 miles away. Got to the store, gave the guy there the same information as I filled in online. He said the total was 288.90. He included a front end alignment that I did not want or ask for. Then said the total was $218.82. Told him that was still not the price I saw online. He said the price I saw online was only if you purchased 3 tires because you get the 4th tire free. There was no such requirement on the web site. I tried it again on the web site when I got back home and sure enough, there was no 3 tire purchase requirement. Big lie. Did a little more research online and saw that the parent company of Sears has closed a lot of stores and are closing more. Is this a result of the deceitful business practices I encountered? Certainly seems like e real possibility. Take off one star for my inability to vote zero stars.

I am not a person to write reviews but I am so frustrated with sears automotive I will never spend another dime there. I have been going to sears for tires for over 20 years. Always buy Michelin tires and always buy up the road hazard insurance. Ive watched the customer service slip over the years...so I go there because of a flat tire at 7:50am, they open at 8:00. Im the second person there today, I explain that I have a flat, and the salesperson says, "do you have an appointment?" I explain its a flat, unplanned event, just bought tires there 2 weeks ago. "Im sorry sir we are alreally booked for the day. Youll have to leave it and we MIGHT get to it today." Town Fair tire took me in immediately. Sitting there now...waiting for the repair. PS: in and out of Town Fair Tire in 30 minutes. $4.20 for a new value stem.

A$$holes will try to sell you anything to get sales! Went to have an oil change check brake pads as I didnt have time to do it myself. I get a call after the oil change and theyre trying to tell me my break pads and rotors are all very bad and need to be replaced which I knew was bull. So my bext day off i do the work myself and my front pads had 50% life left and my rears i replaced for $50. All 4 rotors were all in perfect working order with no pitting and not ever close to needing to be replaced. Needless to say I saved $500 because I knew my car and didnt listen to them. Ill never go back there again and I hope no one else does. Just another typical shop trying to get anything they can from people.

Went there for a simple oil change and the car developed a strange smell two weeks after. Took it the car dealer and they mentioned that whoever did the oil change last forgot to replace the oil cap and covered the entire engine compartment with oil. Had to pay $100.00 for another oil change, clean the engine out, and replacing the oil cap. UPDATE - Took the car back there and they credited me $80.00 in which I am satisfied and they apologized on what happened. Still very uncertain on doing my business there. May take it to the dealer from now on.
