We had a negative experience with Bright Side. My review does not address the quality of their work—we did not hire them due to their unprofessionalism when simply trying to get an estimate for the job. When they 1st came to our house to assess the situation (dormer/flashing repairs), we were informed that another individual would have to come out with a ladder to take a closer look. This occurred on a Fri, so I followed up on Mon to find out when someone would be back out. They did not answer the phone, so I left a message reminding them we had a time constraint since this was a home insurance related matter. Our insurance agent, who coincidentally knows someone in the company, followed up later in the week since they failed to return my call. After hearing a few different stories from the owner, who at one point told our agent that there was already a contract in place to do the job (not the case at all) our insurance agent was informed that they do not perform dormer work after all. The next morning to our surprise, several people from Bright Side were on our roof. I called to find out what was going on since we thought they didn’t want the job, and was given every excuse under the sun to explain the miscommunication; they were having phone issues and that is why they never got back to me, that the office girl was new, that the individual who initially came out to assess the dormers was new, that another office member had laryngitis, etc. I then spoke with the owner of the company, Robert, who also provided a laundry list of excuses and tried to blame our insurance agent for all the miscommunication. The owner became more and more defensive as I tried to get to the bottom of what was going on and started making strange accusations. It was apparent he did not want to hear me talk and yelled, “Jesus Christ” at me when I made an effort to get the conversation back on track. Toward the end of the call I explained that the conversation was going nowhere fast and that we would ultimately feel more comfortable hiring a different company to perform the work at this point. As if the things couldn’t get any more awkward, the owner started apologizing for his accusations and pleaded with me to give him the opportunity to redeem himself. I finally had to hang up on the man because I had already had enough of the abuse. Again, I cannot remark on their quality of work, but I can say they conducted themselves in an unprofessional manner and nobody should have to put up with that level of aggravation.

I honestly have to say that when push comes to shove, these guys are the best in the business! They have done work for my family as well as for clients of mine and every time I am thankful for them. They are detailed, work clean, make sure the work is right (even if it means coming back multiple times), and are willing to help out where they can. I asked them to squeeze in a roofing consult and report (even when I knew they were swamped); they completed it and got me the information I needed. Thank you Bobby Jones, Jason McPherson, and Bright Side Roofing Staff! I wouldnt trust anyone else with my roof or my clients!
