Slightly long story, but I would recommend people to read this before you go to this store. I went to change the two front wheels of my tire. They got it changed then while driving my way back to my home all of a sudden my check engine light is on for the first time in my 2006 Honda Accord. I thought it is an old car, my roommate has his toyota camrys check engine light on for the past two years, for hondas and toyotas it is not a big deal. Then I saw that my oil life was 100% when I never told them to change the oil, but it was about time to change the oil of my car. The next morning while I was driving my car, I realized that it had a shaky, bumpy acceleration. At one of the red lights my car actually stalled in kirkwood highway where the speed limit is 50. I had to have the emergency light on and restart my car. Obviously for a normal person this is serious (I dont know what the store thinks) and I called them to see what the hell is going on, all these things cannot just be a coincidence. I went there and of course they are going to disagree with me, made an expression like I was nuts. They said I have to pay 100 dollars to get my car checked. I told then I wanted to speak with the mechanic who changed my tires, fortunately he was there and agreed to look into my car. He said that they accidentally detached the vacuum hose so the engine was not taking enough air or something like that while they were doing the courtesy check (I never told them to do this check, probably a way to get money by telling people that they have so many problems in their car, or detaching the vacuum hose on purpose so you come and check the engine for 100 dollars and get it fixed for few more 100 dollars! of course I cant be so sure about the last part). I know as a human being we make mistakes, but if the mistakes (although I dont believe that it was just a mistake) could lead to a serious accident..... I would never recommend anybody to go to this place. Hopefully this is the last time I visit a Firestone store and again hopefully my car is fine now since a student like me can understand how expensive it is to maintain car.

I have to say, my experiences with this Firestone location have been wonderful. They always make me feel comfortable, are super-efficient, and so far have done nothing but good for my vehicle. Last year was a rough winter and I unfortunately was left with a flat back tire. I went to Firestone because it was close to my place of work, and they took my car right before closing, and switched out both of my back tires, did an oil change, and inspected everything just before they closed up shop. Those tires have been great, though just this weekend I unfortunately found that my front tire had developed a bubble in it, so I went back to the same Firestone’s without an appointment in hopes for them to replace my front tires. I allotted myself a couple of hours since I knew how long waits may be sometimes, but I was blown away with their efficiency. When I first arrived they looked up my tire information in the system, and had expressed that they didn’t have my size tires in stock and had suggested I return tomorrow. I asked for them to take a look at the condition of my tire due to the fact that I have a 1 hour drive back home after work this evening, and I wanted his suggestion as to if it would be safe to drive with it. He saw the bubble, highly suggested I didn’t drive on that tire, and offered to put on my spare for the time being. They took my car back and found that I was never given a spare through the dealership (I guess due to efficiency reasons the new cars don’t really need/or/have spares) and because they were concerned about my safety they went out of their way to go to another location to grab the right sized tires, and they switched them out (in addition to changing my oil again and doing another inspection) all within enough time for me to arrive to work on time, and for a price that I was very relieved to see! It is nice to see an auto company prove the "women being taken advantage of" stereotype to not always be the case. They made me a very happy girl today!

I will never take another car here again. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I work on cars a little and understand some basic maintenance. Im a novice. To save time and money one day I took an older car to Firestone because I had one of the promotional $19.99 oil change coupons. They told me they would also do a check up. I was fine with that. I declined the $350+ recommendation to replace my radiator hoses that were "old" (not leaking and still work fine 20k miles later). No problem. I picked up the car, everything was fine. The next time, I decided I would just change the oil myself. Whoever worked on my car at Firestone stripped my oil pan when they put the drain plug back in. Since there is no way to prove that they did this since I decided to change the oil myself and had already removed the plug since the last change, I decided not to bother with it. Had to get a new oil gasket and pan. Ended up paying $300 somewhere else to do it. Thanks.

Horrible service. Had a warranty with a roadside service program. They told me they did not accept a car for work to be done through the program. The program gave me a list of shops they are affiliated with. Im guessing the manager (short heavy set black guy) and the guy (white guy with funky purple bangs) I initially did not feel like helping me. They were telling me I was wrong and didnt have a clue what I was talking about. Very rude and not helpful. They would not speak with the representative for the roadside program. I drove to the firestone in new castle and they helped me with no issues. Dont bother going to the kirkwood highway location. Horrible service. I would not give them my money forvthe service if I were you.

Do your homework before choosing Firestone Auto. Ive asked them to quote me on two different issues before -- a catalytic converter and window motor replacement. For the catalytic converter, I was quoted $665. Two different exhaust shops quoted me priced under $400 (parts + labor). Additionally, they quoted me a window motor before for $600. Just looking at google, the window motor runs for $100 or less. I never had an additional quote done for the window motor by another mechanic, but Im certain that removing the door panel and swapping the motors does not equate to $500 in labor. Please, window shop at other mechanics and see what they will quoted you. Dont let them scam you into ridiculous prices.

My truck was brought there for a power steering leak.I get a call the very next day from the snake service manager saying my truck is running rough an I may need a new head gasket or I have spark plugs misfiring mind you this truck came in without a service engine light so why are you looking at my motor? 4 days later they finally fixed the power steering pump so I leave prices corner parking lot an before I even get to Newport gap pike my service engine light comes on? The black service manager is a snake an I wouldnt let them work on my kids big wheel cuz it will come out with more problems then it came in with ! ##scamartist My lawyer is now dealing with it.
