Try to cancel your membership and see how much they will charge you. I went to la fitness for years and after I cancelled my membership they still charged me for about 6 months and later reported me to a collection agency, and this is after i mailed in the cancellation paperwork and I called repeatedly telling them to stop charging. When I joined Planet Fitness I was not looking for a repeat of LA Fitness, so I specifically asked about all of the sign up fees and penalties for cancelling the membership if I needed to. I was told... We are not La Fitness and there are no fees if you decide to quit. THIS WAS A COMPLETE LIE . I got a new job and I had to travel for work and I could no longer go to this gym, I walked in and asked them to cancel my membership only to find out they will charge me around $360 just to cancel. I was told the best thing to do is to just let it keep billing my account until my contract of one year runs out because that would be cheaper than the cancellation fee. So for the past 8 months they have been billing me over $20/month for NOTHING. But they are very nice when they show you around and make you sign a contract, all smiles and giggles

Compared to LA Fitness, Planet Fitness is better in: PRICE! Cleanliness (of facility, and emphasis on customers cleaning after themselves, on equipment) Equipment (New and always working well) Friendliness of staff (almost always greet you when entering and leaving), seldom overcrowded where you have to wait long for machine... Overall, much better then LAFitness! (We left Planet Fitness after 5 yrs for LA Fitness, came back a yr. later!) LA Fitness places no emphasis on people wiping down machines after use, and has very FEW cleaning stations for people, located at front and back of gym mainly. You NEVER see people wiping machines after using; at Planet Fitness you seldom see people NOT wiping machines after using! LA...is much more expensive $ and not as friendly. Equipment basically same quality as Planet Fitness. Music played is plenty loud, good, and plenty of cardio and TVs for viewing pleasure!

I was a member for about a year and I regret it. The lack of free weights will hamper anyone who really wants to do some serious training. And while I get that planet fitness is an economical and different gym...It would be nice to have one free weight bench machine instead of all smith machines. The staff was great with the exception of one idiot that complained about everything. She should be fired for her harassment of customers. I recommend LA Fitness or the YMCA. Youll obviously pay more, but the extra services are worth it.

Planet fitness is everything that is wrong with America. Not sure why its classified as a "Gym" but like all Planet Fitness they encourage a "feel good about yourself" environment, Which is absurd. People go to a gym to improve themselves physically and then in turn your psychological status is improved because you have a sense of accomplishment and pride from putting forth effort towards your goal. Planet Fitness psychology is that of, "Dont worry, be happy, have a doughnut, theres always tomorrow." Nope. Nope. Nope.

Good mix of free weights, machines, and cardio stuff. No reason you cant train every part of your anatomy here, but power lifters will probably want to look elsewhere. Been using this gym for several years and its always been good for me. The worst Ive encountered is having to wait on a machine or bench occasionally. If I had one complaint, its that the pads available for the bars on the Smith machines are generally terrible, mostly due to use but also many of them are made for different diameter bars!

Planet fitness altamonte is not only a great place to work out but I feel very welcome there. The staff is above and beyond friendly and helpful and just make you really want to be there. I need to give a special mention to the wonderful customer service given by Emmanuel, Gio, and Arianna they really make the experience a whole lot better. Its because of their amazing attitudes and positive energy that I look forward to going to the gym.

I love my pf, major machine improvements have been done, now they finally have medicine balls!! There are few machines that I would love for them to have but I understand that there might not be enough space for them. Staff is friendly and nice. The trainer is nice, although Im still missing the trainer before that one because he was a little more active with people. Overall I would recommend them.

Cheap and basic but gets the job done. They have ridiculous policies but the staff almost never enforces it because even they know how ridiculous most of it is. Today I was told that supersetting wasnt allowed by one of the staff who interrupted me to tell me so. Guess efficient workouts are banned now. The staff is quite pleasant but the rules theyre tasked to enforce are ludicrous!

It is not closed down. Have been a member for years. If you are hardcore fitness type this place might not be for you, although some branches have both free weights and pulley type. The price is great for moderate exercise. Place is usually too crowed between 5 and 7 pm. Other than that no other complains. Fairly clean.

It has what I need to get my workout in. Pretty good variety of cardio equipment and weights. There are cable weight lifting and Smith machines, but no free standing bench/squat racks. The employees are the nicest Ive ever met. Emmanuel is the most phenomenal trainer that ever existed. The facility is kept super clean.

pretty good overall. decent prices, friendly staff, good variety of equipment, pathetic hours. it isnt 24/7 so if you work weekends and nights like i do its not convenient or even useful. but if you have a better schedule than myself then you will probably love it. definitely one of the better gyms ive been to.

1. Well lubed machine 2. Water good 3. Similar to Conway in comparison in gym equipment. 4. Paper towels in bathroom 5. Handicapped shower is huge 6. No hydro beds only massage chairs. 7. Up stairs. small gym 8. They lacking some mirrors by the dumbbells where mirrors are need.

The facility is clean, the staff is professional and it is perfect for my workout needs. I enjoy the perks like pizza night, bagel morning and the massage chairs. There isnt a pool, but I dont mind, especially with a very reasonable membership price.

Great place to workout, Ive moved from New Jersey to Florida and have been with planet fitness for almost 4 years, nice staff and knowledgable, clean place, clean bathrooms, Im now on my 90 days journey and have been using the gym almost everyday.

I love it. My only wish is that all planet fitnesss offer a kids club. Being a single parent its hard sometimes to make it to the gym with out a babysitter.. I missed three weeks because I couldnt get anyone to watch my daughter . So depressing

Its a great gym just wish they had true free weight bench presses and squat racks. While they do have some Smith machines. Very clean and great deal for the price. If they had the true free weight I would give it 5 stars.
