Big Thank you to Orlando, Otniel & their extremely professional crew! We needed to get our roof done and they were hands down the most informative on what to expect w/ re-roof process and what some of the current methods and technologies that are currently being used. I did my due diligence and a few other competitive quotes, and not only was Alvarez Home repairs extremely competitively priced, they again were the only ones of the handful to take the time to treat you as the person and concerned home owner VS just a transaction that is common in the roof and home improvement industry. Furthermore their crew was punctual, friendly w/ a impeccable level to the attention to details. It really was unbelievable just how efficient they all work together as a well-oiled team with little or no wasted movements. I manage projects all the time in my line of work and the teamwork the crew showed while replacing my roof was just impressive and raised the bar of what I will expect from my teams / project managers! Finally – they completed my ranch style house in one day and 2 of my neighbors already reached out to me this AM to comment on how equally impressed they were as well. You honestly would not know they replaced my roof from how they left my yard …… I believe they actually left my yard and driveway cleaner then it was when they started. I can highly recommend Alvarez Home Repairs, LLC for roofing. As a retired contractor, I was looking for a roofing company which could meet or exceed the material and installation methods I am accustomed to, at a fair price. Bottom line, they exceeded my expectations. I have used CertainTeed roofing products on my jobs for many years, and wanted a CertainTeed trained and certified roofing contractor to do my jobs. Their company has invested in the training for their crews to be certified to the standards of being Select ShingleMaster installers. Beyond this, I wanted my installations to meet the standards of the CertainTeed Integrity Roof System, which requires the highest of materials and installation practices to qualify for the SureStart PLUS 5-STAR Warranty Coverage. This coverage cost a small amount extra, but, in my opinion, it is worth every penny of the cost and extends the factory warranty out many years on a non-prorated basis and is transferable to a new owner. In Florida, your roof system is very critical in protecting your investment. Otniel Alvarez and his crews are competent and capable. The process in dealing with them was seamless from my first interview, estimate, contract, commencement, permitting, installation, clean up, final county inspector approval and warranty registration. And, I am confident, if an issue should arises down the road, they will stand ready to resolve it. This is exactly what I was looking for in a reputable roofing contractor.

We needed to have our roof replaced. After some research, talking with friends and online, I called three roofing contractors. Otniel Alvarez came out the same day. Otniel took the time to thoroughly examine our existing roof and made recommendations about both materials and methods that would provide us not only with a new roof, but one that would meet the new insurance reqirements for wind mitigation and secondary leak protection. The other contractors provided us with estimates for the very minimum to satisfy code and their prices were slightly higher than Alvarez Roofing We had to have the work done very quickly to satisfy our homeowners insurance renewal. Alvarez Roofing complied with our tight schedule, they came completely prepared with a full crew and completed the job in a very timely and professional manner. The crew was not only experienced, but they worked as a real team. It was evident from the first hour of work that our job was in the hands of journeymen. The day after the roof was complete, we were provided with a Florida downpour and our new roof performed flawlessly and continues to so. We are very satisfied with every aspect of our experience with Alvarez Roofing. We got a timely and complete estimate (no "hidden" charges), fast and professional workmanship, and a fair price. In May 2015, Alvarez Home Repairs replaced a section of my roof that is flat. I obtained two other estimates before calling and speaking with the owner, Otneil. As good roofers tend to be very busy this time of year, it took a couple of phone calls before we could arrange a time to meet that worked for both of us. After reading the excellent reviews the company has both on Google and Angie’s List, I was willing to work with his understandably busy schedule and I am glad I did. Otneil met with me at the house to perform the estimate, which was very competitive and included more items than the two previous estimates, such as replacing the ridge vent on a gabled section of the roof they were not replacing. More importantly, Otneil is very personable and won my trust in short order. They replaced my roofing with peel & stick over a tapered system that will allow water to run off, instead of pooling up like it did on the old roof. His crew completed the job in a day, and did an excellent job cleaning up the house and yard before they left. Otneil followed up with me the next day to see if I had any questions or concerns. I am very happy with the job they did, and the price I paid for it. My neighbor is now having them replace their flat roof section like they did mine. The good news is, I get a referral fee as a reward for the good job they did at a very fair price!

In short: Otniel is a real professional as well as a pleasure to deal with, their work is great and their prices are competitive. Otniel from Alvarez Home Repairs came out the day after I spoke with him on the phone, I also met with his brother a few days earlier. Both were on time and stayed until every question I had was answered. Once we decided to go with him, he was able/willing to fit us in just a few days later to accommodate our tight schedule. He met his crew here in the morning and they had all the work done in 1 long day. Final inspection was completed the next. While not a huge job, the work on a 1912 detached garage with a flat roofing and parapet walls at different elevations was fairly complex. They replaced lots of damaged wood, enlarged and installed two new scuppers, used commercial grade materials for the flat roof and even replaced some tiles on the parapet walls. It looks fantastic! Otniel was thorough in his scope of the project and he and his crew finished all the work on budget and on time. He is good-natured guy and promptly and patiently answered and handled all the questions/concerns I had along the way. Very responsive with 100% customer focus. If we ever need any additional roof work done in the future -- Alvarez will definitely be our first call.

Work Description: The entire roof was stripped, new wood precisely placed where needed, covered entire roof with "Peel and Seal", new Tar around all vents & the entire roof edge, new Drip Rail & Lead Vent covers, very precisely measured & marked chalk lines. R. Murphy Comments: Having worked construction myself, all phases, from site-prep to exterior, interior, cabinetry & trim and even underwater (as a diver) I have seen all levels of very good to shoddy work. Alvarez Home Repair re-shingled my 42 squares roof (about 3,300 sq ft). I have seldom seen such care and attention to detail. Done far better than a major company (HD) planned to do. I believe in advertising the bad & good, whereby we customers can run the bad out of business & the good can survive and prosper, as they should. Alvarez Home Repair (and Roofing) is DEFiNITELY in the VERY BEST category. I heartily recommend this company with no reservations. And his PRICE was also THE BEST. The owner even came out to inspect the job DURING the 3/6/2014 DOWNPOUR even though I told him it was not necessary. His crew was polite, considerate & communicative, Cleanup very well done.
