A Matter of Taste Catering in Miami, Florida is nothing like what they "try" to portray! The Owner will promise you the moon and the stars in order to get you to sign a contract! My wedding was at the Deering Estate, so I had both the ceremony and reception at the same location. I arrived with my parents for the ceremony and found them running around!!!! And mind you, I was 30 minutes late! I was beyond FURIOUS! After the ceremony, on my way to enter the reception, I noticed that the table that was supposed to be set up with “Kiwi Lemonade” (in glasses), had a bunch of SUNKIST 2 liter BOTTLES on a table with a couple of plastic cups still in the plastic sleeve!!!!! I was HORRIFIED!!!! Did this lady not realize we were at the Deering Estate for a wedding? Not a kid’s pool party???? I then entered the reception and immediately noticed more things wrong! The table clothes were the WRONG COLOR!!!!! The Flowers were not what i chose! They never brought out dinner rolls, the time-line, which was supposed to be followed and directed by the owner Grisel was all wrong!!!! Once it was time to serve the cake, they did and about 10 minutes later picked them all up and threw them away!!!! Over half of our guests (including my husband and I) never even got to see a piece of wedding cake!!!! And finally to top everything off, after our second drink they were out of ALL Top Shelf Liquor! We had specifically paid for Unlimited Top Shelf and even asked the owner Grisel " If my guests want to drink Black Label all night, they can?" Her reply: What ever they want unlimited! My husband and I could not believe it! When my husband asked the bartender for some Johnny Walker Black, the very rude and tacky bartender replied: We only bring two bottles of every different liquor! A Matter of taste was the only vendor we never once doubted, and they were the only vendor who truly let us down!!! We would never ever recommend this catering company to anyone!!!! They are a true disaster!!!!

My experience with Grisel and her entire Matter of Taste team was simply impeccable. My husband and I hired Grisel Garcia and her team for our wedding this past year. We got the highest package that included food, open bar all night, linens, chairs, tables, limo service, flowers, centerpieces, cake, and DJ for the most amazing price per person! Grisel was outstanding and very understanding from the very first day. She took my husband and I in with open arms and gave in to everything we asked for without a problem. If there was something Grisel could not do, she made sure to explain why or make sure she did everything in her power to do it. She was always very reachable and easy to contact when I had a question, comment, or concern. Her service and knowledge was always 5 star rated! The food and waiter service was divine. My guests ALL spoke so highly of the food and how delicious everything was! There were no complaints and the bar service was great. We never ran out of liquor and no one was turned away when wanting more :) Bar and food were #1. Grisel and her team had everything set up on time and the flowers and tables looked amazing!! She and her flower company did everything I asked for and made the ceremony and reception look beautiful! It was incredible how gorgeous it all came out. It was my dream come true. The DJ, Alex Rodriguez with Sound Express, was also great! The music was all the famous hits and everything we wanted to hear. His organization throughout the night was outstanding and he was very understanding with getting all the songs we wanted to hear :) Thank you to A Matter of Taste and Grisel for making my dream wedding come to a reality. I would not have changed one thing! :)

They were very helpful in the beginning. To start...we believe they did the best they could do. We appreciate their help and what we worked out with them. Through our time communicating we were able to get very detailed as well. The room itself was decorated nicely. We at first decided to cook our own food but then we decided to put our faith in a matter of taste and have them cook the food. The day of the wedding, there were pleny of mistakes that in the beginning were told would not happen. We trusted them with our day and its not about the money entirely, its actually the principle of things. They had tip jars at the bars for our guests, the servers and bartenders were VERY rude. They gave our guests the wrong food, service took 40 minutes, they gave my husband the wrong dish entirely, the food was not what we sampled. They did not include the dinner rolls with the salad and the food and rolls were cold...not warm but cold...We were told there would be pleny of people on staff to pour water, to serve food, but it seemed as if they were short staffed and people had to wait a very very long time for food. There was only one bar for cocktail hour with 180 or so people. They were very unorganized. I was very let down, we spoke often and she assured me things would be taken care of and for the most part they were, but the big things is what matters.
