Once you get past the cold reception, notice the abundance of weeds on the fringes, and swallow the green fee for this experience, you may be asked by the ranger "If I can move your cart" at the two-hour mark while you are on the 9th fairway. "Are we playing too slow" you ask - mindful that you are keeping pace with the forward group. "No" the smiling ranger answers, as if moving your cart while you are on the fairway is another "customer service" enhancement at this once-enjoyable venue. When pressed, hell admit that "a member group" behind you is complaining. That sums up the PGA experience at St. Lucie West these days. They cater to the visiting group package tours and their "members" - an odd addition to what once was a public course. Most locals now go elsewhere - including many whom live within the PGA Village parameters. Basically, poor management seems to be the culprit. The place looked a whole lot better when the rates were lower. Are the high rates limiting the revenue? Probably.

We played the wannamaker course. Grat but as well pretty tough course. The pace was good and no one was pushing from behind. We where asked as well from meber is front of us if we want to pass cause we where 2 and they where 3. But there was no need. We had no hurry. The ProShop Team was as well nice and they put us up the startung list für 2 hours without any problem. We enjoyed our stay and will for sure come back next week.

Management is great and facilities are beautiful. The banquet room that can be rented for private use has the most beautiful exposed wooden beams- makes it feel like a great lodge- its stunning.
