I used to belong to LA Fitness a few years ago and paid only $20 a month. I ended my membership there to join Bodymechanics in Coral Springs and had a family membership. Two years later LA Fitness took over my gym and my family membership was transferred to LA Fitness. In April LA Fitness was having a special and sales people were trying to reinstate old members at their original dues. I got a call from a sales girl over at LA Fitness Coral Springs South on University Drive. Apparently, my old membership was in the computer and they didnt realize that I already had a membership from the takeover of Bodymechanics which is now LA Fitness Coral Springs North. When I told the sales person this, she still offered me the deal I guess so that she would get the commission. My family didnt use the membership, so I dropped the 94.00 a month down to $20 just for me. She said she would take care of everything. Well, not only did they charge me $20 for my new membership, but they continued to charge me for the closed family membership too. I went down to the club and they said they would fix it and refund my money and it would take about a week. Never got the refund and then the next month it happened again. Called numerous times and was never called back. I personally went down there and the person in charge was always not there. Went back and forth with this for weeks. Finally got a hold of the manager and they got in touch with corporate and a two-month refund was approved. I even got an email from corporate in CA confirming the refund of two months and that the family account was closed. Fine. I didnt trust them and put a stop payment on just in case. Good thing because the next month they tried to charge my account again even after that! Now they are calling and emailing and harassing me because my bank stopped the payment! They even stopped me at the gym because I have a past due account! I told the girl to look closer and shell see that I have a different account and that the account she was looking at is supposed to be closed. Im still trying to resolve this problem. Beware!!! If you leave, put a stop payment on immediately!

This place is beyond gross...the bathrooms in Iraq were nicer than the bathrooms at this dump..... when you leave you feel like you have H1N1 flu virus when you work out here.. You get a really good workout on their cardio machines because all of them are broken, you have to manually move all the mechanics with your own body strength!....I am sure the managers are telling corporate about the crappy old machines they have in that place..but for the last year they just keep moving the 3 "Machine is broken" signs to the right, so everyday you go in there the three machines to the right have the sign on them...lol...basically all the machines do not work properly bc they have extended their lifetime... I would join LA fitness but plan to go to another locations... the coral springs location is just nasty...

Some of the staff have poor attitude. The sales people are not accurate with details, if you cancel your account, they charge anyways, and if you cancel your bank account so they cant withdraw, they call 6 times a day from random numbers. A few times the "snack bar" which serve a cup full of blended ice with a hair of protein tried telling me prices $0.50 over the actual cost to pocket extra money. The dumbbell racks are always apart and scattered, I was told all the machines where new, but hardly any were replaced, and the whole place smells. I joined this one because its near by, and I drive all the way to the lyons/sawgrass location to avoid all these issues, but is always overcrowded. If you have motivation issues going to a gym, this one will not help.

I have been going to this gym for 3 1/2 years now and I personally like this gym over some of the other LA fitness in the area. The PROS for me is that the cardio machines are great, TV for each machine. I usually go there at night later then 9pm and the people who are working out there at that time are actually there to work out and not sit on a machine and socialize, and if they are socializing they are doing their sets. The staff has continuously changed so I cant say much except they are nice when they have greeted me. The only major con I would say is that they need to remodel and expand they gym is kind of small so everything is crowded. But other than that great LA fitness for me :).

I dont know what people complain about other than they feel they were slighted and go out of way to get revenge. not a worthy endeavor or justified. I have had nothing but great experiences. staff is friendly and willing to help in any way possible. they have tvs on exercise equipment and connectiuons for ipod. I too brought training but have not had time to go which is my own fault the one time i did go the fitness trainer not only did he work me but he encorage me to push to limits. Every one concentrates on their workout and you wont find a better place to exercise.

Equipment: One of the few gyms with round plates! Some are a little beat up & old, but overall they are good enough to work with. Machines are up to par, again not super new, but they get the job done. Barbells are average, some old, but none bent. Facility: No strange smells most of the time! Bathrooms could be better, but its a gym! Spa facilities are pretty good. Swimming pool is on the smaller side. This is one of the few LA gyms in the area with a steam room! Sauna is available as well. Both of these are shared men/women. Staff: Nothing to report here-

This rating is based on the "management" or lack there of. I had to cancel person training sessions due to finances. They wasted my time back and forth waiting on this "manager" to cancel and when I finally sit down with him he still tries to sell me and guess what "couldnt" cancel it either. Then Im supposed to get a phone call from some mystery manager to cancel... That didnt happen. Shout out to the corporate offices for getting this taken care of. They can take your money but they cant give it back... Really I feel like he was trapping me in a contract.

I just want to go try it out as a guest for one day...Sorry this place is just plain bad. Needs bigger facility for all the equipment too close to each other. Disorganized with their free weights and confusion of walking through to find anything and their amenities. Treadmills and overall standing machines need upgrades. This is NOT the 1960s; there are much better equipment machines now. INVEST!!! I was just gonna give it two stars until I got being aggressively push into being a member. Not happening. Its no bueno at this site. Not coming back here again.

I am new to the area and have been to many other LA Fitness locations and this one by far is one of the absolute worst. Screws coming out of machines while youre using them and sometimes even completely missing from other machines. This location is an absolute insurance nightmare, Im surprised nobody has been injured. I hope by posting this they put some work into this location, for as small as it is, theres no reason why it should look that bad. It is the closest location to me, so I hope they make some changes, or I may have to cancel my membership.
