Anyway. Do not ever go to Rick Johnson Auto & Tire. Genuinely think Ive been lied to. Went in for an oil change (tire rotation comes with the oil change) and a new break light mechanism. Appointment set for 730 AM made a day in advance, go in to find put three people have been scheduled for that time but not enough staff to cover it. Thats ok, I mean. Everyones understaffed sometimes. I can wait. First receipt says I got all that plus a "25 point inspection" that includes checking things like breaks. My car isnt done til later that midafternoon, and I go in to pay. The man working register is on the phone and only motions to the card reader for me. Makes no move to talk to me. I dont get more than a block away before I have to pull over. Its like driving with the breaks on. I think my emergency break is busted, but my car is slowing down while my RPM is going up and Im terrified. I pull over, I call them again. They send two mechanics to help. I tell them my problem, they check, they confirm. Something wrong with the breaks. Well, is this because of the break light mechanism? Did it make them too tight or something? One mechanic says flippantly something like "yeah stuff happens." For all fairness, the other one was very kind. Or at least seemed to be. They paid for the tow back which was nice. They inspected my car again to find my break lines were broken and so were my pads, from age and use. Well. They inspected my car a little while ago? Literally this morning? Why didnt they catch that, why was I told nothing? How could somehing be so broken it breaks in 5 minutes from use and age, but you cant tell thatll happen from inspection? Well, they say, they didnt take my tires off. Didnt need to for the inspection. But they took my tires off for the rotation? Why didnt they complete the inspection then, especially if this inspection is part of the service fee I pay? When Im leaving too I ask for a copy of my inspectipn form. I am told I cant have one, but that I will need new tires soon. Wasnt told that this morning! This mechanic, the nicer one from when they drove out to help me, makes a joke about the person who gave me my first receipt is always dissmissive and on the phone. How irresponsible to not tell me something I paid for. Well. They fix what broke. They were nice about it too. Waived some fees, got it done before closing. I still paid more than I intended, but I was ready to believe it was an honest thing. But hey. I drive not even a little more than 5 minutes to get home. Brand new break lines are smoking. Theyre closed. Cant believe this day. Dont go to Rick Johnson Auto & Tire.Ive been emailing their Executive Assistant of the business all day, only recieved one initial reply. That boiled down to "sorry." This is incredibly unprofessional, and misleading, if not blatantly a series of lies. Took 730am to 8pm and still not done. I dont have the time or money for this and neither does anybody else.

DO NOT USE! I have had nothing but bad experiences at any Rick Johnsons. The first time I went I bought my tires from them, they were EXTREMELY overpriced, but I needed tires asap so I paid it. I get my wheels home, first off they mounted the wrong size! I bought 225/45r17 and they mounted a 205/45r17! So I called and got insulted that I was reading the numbers wrong, mind you I was a mechanic for 2 years on a professional race team, took the wheels in to get the tires changed. Never got an apology for being insulted, then they chipped the powder coat on 3 of my wheels! I would understand if it was one of them, but not 3 out of 4! This event happened at one of their locations. After this incident I need to get some tires dismounted on wheels I need to re-do. So I called them again because they are the most convenient to get to. Guy on the phone says it will cost $15 a piece to dismount 15" wheels! That is absurd for a 5 minute job! But I put myself in a bind and needed them done asap, so I went in to get them done. I walk in to tell him what I need done and he tells me it will cost $25 a wheel now! This is at the same location as before. A couple months later I try out their other Fort Myers location, this time I brought my own tires, all I needed was them to be mounted. Called to get a price, the guy on the phone told me 19.99, so I went in to get them done. Picked up my wheels and one of the tires are mounted backwards, guess they didnt know there was such thing as directional tires. So I took the wheels back, got the one tire flipped and he chipped my powder coat again! That brings us to today, I got over the fact that he chipped the powder coat, it happens. I need new tires mounted up again, so I called to schedule and appointment. I get the appointment scheduled and the guy on the phone proceeds to tell me it will cost 29.99 now! This is one week after I got the other tires mounted up, and Im getting narrower tires done! This is just ridiculous. They cant make up their minds on the prices, their guys are under qualified to do simple jobs. NEVER USE A RICK JOHNSONS!

I went in today for an Oil Change. This is something I normally do myself, but a busy schedule has left with little time to take care of it. Anyway, they had a special going on for $10 and I went in. The staff was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. Jon and I talked about the car and he generally seemed to make every costumer feel welcome. There was one woman at the time who came in to get a flat tire repaired. They found a slash in her tire and recommended she get it replaced. The woman said she worked in construction, so its no surprise her tire would find itself in situations with plenty of road hazards. The shop proceeded to remove all four tires as part of their 25-point inspection, but as they were putting it back on, the lug nut key cracked and they couldnt put the tires back on safely. They advised her of this and she still insisted she drive off anyway with her young daughter. They told her they would make every attempt to get the key ASAP, but she wasnt having it, raising her voice and just generally acting rude. My cars service was done in about an hour and, again, Jon made me feel welcome and happy to have me back. As I was leaving a Lee county Sheriff was pulling up and I realized the woman had called the PD because she thought the shop was doing all this on purpose. Ill say there are shops out there who would go out of their way to make the customer pay more, but this lug nut key wouldnt make the shop any profit and they wouldnt profit from having to keep her car there. It just doesnt make any sense to think they did this on purpose. Anyway, great shop with great staff. I will definitely be bringing in my car for service in the future.
